More local fish options would be good
Niko our server was absolutely brilliant. Very polite, happy to help and all round nice friendly person. Thank you for your great service. Food was lovely and given in a timely manner. Food and drink range was wide and something for everyone.
We had a lovely special meal the evening before my wedding.
Absolutely amazing as always!
Our waitress was charming but service was very slow and other restaurant staff seemed off-hand at best. I had mentioned my friend's food intolerances when I made the reservation but there was no acknowledgement of this. All in all, not up to the quality of the rest of the hotel.
Average food , lack of atmosphere.
very nice meal
Very enjoyable afternoon tea looked after by welcoming and attentive staff.
Service so slow even though weren’t busy. After the food was delivered we were asked 5 mins after if we wanted any more drinks and then after that we wasn’t offered any other drinks and waited an hour to ask for some more and every time we tried to get the waitress to notice us they would ignore. Food wasn’t great either
Always made to feel so welcome and we were served by a young man who gave such lovely service, I am confined to a power wheelchair and am never made to feel a bother with seating , been visiting The Headland with a friend who visits from ESSEX for the past 6 years and never had a lunch or Desert 😉 that we have not throughly enjoyed , we love how we can sit in one of the lounges to catch up on life , such a special place , I would love to stay in one of their hotel rooms although I only live 20 minutes away 😊
Slightly disappointing experience. We brought our 4 year old to enjoy the Halloween themed afternoon tea. It stated on the marketing that the Grand Witch would make a guest appearance, but that was cancelled. No Halloween activities as the find the witches cats competition had been removed. The presentation of the afternoon tea was of a good standard. The scones were dry and tasteless.
Good ambiance; good service; tasty food; reasonable price. A lovely family evening out!
We booked specifically to have tea with the Chief Witch for Halloween who was advertised as being there from 3.30. This was our last stop on holiday before heading home (4hr Drive) so we didn’t want to be any later than 4.30 leaving. Only by chance on arrival did we discover that the witch was only coming at 4.30 on Friday, this was not what we had booked and then we were much later leaving than we had planned. Despite the fact we had ordered in advance we had to order again on arrival, and it took 30mins for our food to arrive while we watched other tables who had arrived after us served first. The scones were dry and when our afternoon tea arrived there was no explanation of what each item was. Clearly too busy and not enough time to look after each table. The witch was rather an anti climax and didn’t speak, just sat and had photos with the kids. Over marketed as “afternoon tea with the witch”.
A fabulous experience from arrival until we left. Staff could not be more accommodating & the Witches afternoon tea was delicious & fantastically presented. Thank you.
Great event and with very attentive staff. The food looked and tasted delicious. The witch was very good and we had several photos taken with her, it would of been nice if she came around to all the tables, just for a moment or too. We would definitely do this again and it was very good value for money.
A lovely place to celebrate a family birthday, complete with fireworks on the beach!
Service was great to start with but we were sat by conservatory window. It was a windy wet night and quite a bit of water was leaking in, splashing over those sat by the window and the floor was swimming in water. When we told the waitress, she said there was nothing she could do. I asked if we could have some tissue to mop the floor and she chucked a few pieces of blue roll on the window sill. After that everything seemed to go down hill. The main course were very slow to arrive and one of the meals was completely cold. They did apologise and bring a new hot one and generally the other food was all good but overall it wasn’t a great experience which seemed completely out of line with service in the rest of the hotel which had excellent service .
Overall very good, was slight mix up with order but soon remedied.
very poor atmosphere and a lack of attention to detail. Tables and chairs rearranged around us whilst we had our tea. Nobody was waiting for tables. Cutlery and crockery constantly slung around next to us(we sat at the till end) it was like sitting in the kitchen. Staff started off quite well but soo. It was clear we were in the way of setting up for dinner. I asked for spoons which were missed off our table -this took at least 20 minutes. The table next to our gave up and used their tea spoons. I thought being asked to box our own cakes was very poor. The cakes melted in the sun- where we sat was far too hot and again ruined our experience. We didn’t dare ask to move because another guest had been given short shrift when she asked to move. The witches hat cake was missing it’s hat and the scones were dry in the sun and heat. Very disappointed The witch however, was fantastic.
Very welcoming staff but we had to remind them twice to bring our children’s apple juice after we had had our drinks twenty minutes earlier. Most of the afternoon tea was very nice but the scones are terrible, very, very dry. I think when in Cornwall a good scone is always expected. I have had afternoon tea at the headland before a couple of years ago and the scones were bad then too. There really needs to be a new re ole used as I have heard others say the same. The brownie on the children’s afternoon tea wasn’t very nice either and had no taste of chocolate.

Had afternoon tea here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The views over the beach and sea were lovely and the staff were polite pleasant and helpful.
Delicious Halloween-inspired afternoon tea in a beautiful setting - views are out of this world. Scones were delicious and I'm a definite convert to Earn Grey fruit loaf (never knew how good they can be!). Perhaps a little more pumpkin flavour in the witches hat mousse as cacao nibs in the bottom were the dominant flavor and the first server has a bit of a ticky time fitting everything on the table when she came around with teas and bubbles. The team was great and very helpful when we had a bit of trouble using the gift vouchers we had (in error my inlaws printed the same one twice), but reception found the online order in moments and gave us the second voucher code. All in all it was a delightful afternoon and we can't wait to come back again for a sweet treat later in the winter. Thank you!
Brilliant atmosphere brilliant service excellent food and what a sea view
Excellent service from everyone. Cream teas were fantastic.
