Cool, coastal dining
Located steps from the famous sands of Fistral Beach, our vibrant Terrace Restaurant offers a unique oceanfront dining experience. With floor to ceiling glass, wooden floors, and crisp décor, this is laid-back beach living at its best.
The menu offers a relaxed selection of fresh local seafood, chargrilled cuts of the finest meats, hearty pasta dishes, seasonal salads and irresistible daily specials, along with expertly-muddled cocktails. Popular with locals and residents alike, The Terrace engages all the senses
Four of us for our 60th birthdays chose the Afternoon Tea with Prosecco and we had a lovely time! We felt it was good value, and the staff were excellent. We will have to find another excuse to come for tea soon!
Beautiful location and view, lovely afternoon tea, lots of variety and even a take out box for anything we couldn’t quite manage. Helpful and friendly staff
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The Headland. The staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. It was great value for money. I will definitely go back and recommend it to friends.
Absolutely fantastic. The quality of the staff is excellent and the food and service superb. I would definitely recommend the Headland and look forward to visiting again.
Really enjoyed the Jazz afternoon tea. Wonderful atmosphere and delicious afternoon tea. Fantastic value for money.
Absolutely fantastic service, attentive friendly staff and lovely food in a beautiful scenic restaurant. I’m sure we will be joining you again. Thank you
I booked this afternoon tea as a surprise from my Gran’s 94th birthday. There were 5 of us and at £30 a head it was a real treat. We were greeted outside by a lovely gentleman who directed us to a colleague who then showed us the way to The Terrace. We were seated and the atmosphere was lovely. We asked for 5 champagne afternoon teas and the gentleman taking our order didn’t really understand, he asked us if we wanted a bottle of champagne and it was as if he didn’t know the menu. We asked for still water and tea as well to come out. The afternoon tea arrived and was all explained to us which was lovely. Our water and teas didn’t arrive until we had to ask for them. After this point not one member of staff (of which there were around 8!) came to the table to ask us if we needed anything, wanted a drink or if everything was ok, we were there for 3 hours!! We really felt like the whole thing could have been made so much better had the staff been more attentive. We also would have had several more drinks had we been asked. It was not easy to get staff attention which was really disappointing. £150 was a lot of money for something that left us feeling slightly disappointed with the overall experience.
Drinks took about 20 mins to be served. The food was quite cold, and the beef was so rare, it could have been mooing! We did complain, and got some money off the bill. Staff were very apologetic, and kept us updated. We were lucky to go on a beautiful day, the scenery was fantastic
Fantastic views of the Atlantic coast. Food is simply amazing and the staff are better. Very friendly, helpful and polite nothing is too much trouble for them. Eaten here a few times and we will be back.
We were looked after by Kathy. She was absolutely brilliant and a credit to the Headland.
Lovely view by the window of Fistral beach. Afternoon tea of sandwiches, cakes , scones was delicious.
My only down side would be that my tea got cold very quickly. Maybe a tea cosy would be a good idea , having said that the waiters came with freshtea when asked .
The sandwiches were very fresh. The scones dry with only enough Jam and cream for two not four which meant we had to ask for more. The tea was pleasant but weak. The cakes although impressive to look at were very sickly. The staff could have done with checking all was ok from time to time as we had to try to attract soneones attention to have the tea replenished. Maybe you could also teach your young staff not to refer to their customers as"guy's ". The room is lovely, the views fantastic but work is required on the quality of the food. I speak as someone who has worked in catering and still makes extremely good scones and cakes.
I am afraid to say that i found the experience very disappointing the quality of the food was less than average. The sandwiches were dry, not good quality bread or fillings. The scones were cold and dry. The cakes were not very nice tasting at all. There was not enough room on the table for everything, no extra plates or cutlery were provided to eat our food on. No one asked us if everything was satisfactory. It was not the experience i was hoping for. I expected so much more from such an iconic hotel.
Lovely atmosphere, great service and really good food, we will definitely be back.
Very nice afternoon ,friendly staff ,choice of food very good and great view over fistral beach,l. Will go again.
Enjoyed it immensely. Only downside was the room was too hot.
Service tonight was rather slow. Food was great.
Some great recommendations by our waiter who was very knowledgeable regarding the menu. Had contact with 4 members of staff all very professional and helpful. The restaurant was very nice and the furnishings were really good.We enjoyed it and will be returning..
Lovely friendly staff and delicious food.
