About The Terrace Bar & Restaurant
The Terrace Bar & Restaurant is open every day from morning until late for everything from coffee to lunches, afternoon tea, drinks and dinner with a side of sea views.
With al fresco decking and a conservatory with a retractable roof for sun drenched days and balmy nights, it’s the perfect relaxed space for romantic dinners, family Sunday lunch or planning the next days’ fun over cocktails.
Our chefs are passionate about using as much of the finest locally sourced produce as they can in their dishes, from milk and vegetables to fish and meat.
Little guests have their own menu and we make sure there are plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free dishes available.
We welcome well behaved dogs in our conservatory area only and request that they be kept on a lead.
Takeaway available from 5pm
The service we received was brilliant
Great restaurant and food, really attentive staff and fabulous g and t's!
Ate here 3 times whilst on holiday, mainly for convenience. Would recommend the Sunday Roast but general menu disappointing and overpriced. Service very slow, waited so long for dessert order to be taken on one occasion that we gave up and left.
The meal was disappointing, it was clear my dish had been kept hot before serving so the meal was dry and the fish was over cooked . My Mum’s meal was also over cooked particularly the ‘prawns ‘ which were more like shrimps in size. The ingredients and setting were good however. We were given a free dessert as compensation but it was not as it was described on the menu. We asked for the chocolate & raspberry brûlée but were served a plain one instead!
My daughter and I took advantage of the Terrace Bar and Restaurant twice during our short stay at Gwel an Mor, once dining in, once take-away delivered to our lodge. Both times the service was faultless, friendly, welcoming and very efficient, and both times the food was fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone. Very enjoyable experience.
Great service and food excellent. Crab was amazing!
Excellent service and excellent food , food is so full of taste and lovely, will visit again for sure Niki Jory
We all really enjoyed our evening. A nice relaxing airy restaurant with friendly staff. The catch of the day (Cod with a chorizo stew) was delicious and the banana brûlée, not a combination I’d have thought of, was good too! Would visit again.
Lovely food. Dogs being allowed in the conservatory was a real bonus. Would visit again.
Very helpful staff and great Cornish gins
The service was a bit slow but the lady explained there was a couple of members of staff off at short notice. The food however was gorgeous
We came here for Sunday lunch on Father’s Day. The roast dinner was nice and came with lots of vegetables. My husband and I asked for Yorkshire puddings but we didn’t receive them. For pudding I ordered a chocolate brownie. Big mistake. What arrived was not a brownie in any way, shape or form - it was a square of a cheap tasting sponge cake with a not very nice chocolate sauce. Certainly not what I was expecting for £6.50. I’m not sure if they’d run out of brownies and we’re using the cake as a substitute or if they had deliberately put the incorrect item on the menu. Either way it was mis-sold. Also it was meant to come with icecream (the waitress asked if I would like cream or icecream) but when it arrived the icecream was missing so I had to request it again. In contrast, the sticky toffee pudding my husband had was nice and worthy of the £6.50 price tag. My 3 year old had a roast dinner and then icecream for pudding. The roast was £5.95 which was fine but the cost of the icecream wasn’t advertised as the waitress verbally advised us of the child’s pudding options. I was shocked when the bill came out and we’d been charged £3.95 for the icecream. £10 for a child’s 2 course meal (this doesn’t include a drink either) is quite frankly ridiculous and the most we’ve ever had to pay for a child’s meal and we eat out a lot. I appreciate that there’s always an uplift in price at places like this but there’s no way they can justify charging £10 for a child’s meal. Gwel an Mor itself is lovely so it’s a shame that the restaurant is so far below the standard of the rest of the resort. We ate here the day after we arrived and unfortunately due to the cost and quality issues we won’t be eating here again for the remainder of our stay.
Sunday roast beef was very nice.
Lovely Sunday roast. Will be visiting again before we leave as I want one of those gorgeous burgers 😁
Disappointed that the kitchen ran out of Yorkshire puddings! I would have thought the Chef could have made some very quickly or were they supermarket frozen puddings?
Fish cakes and mushrooms (starters) poor value for money. All three mains were very good. Crumble had to be sent back as smelt bad. Staff very friendly and helpful
Lovely meals, and friendly and welcoming staff.
We arrived to be informed that they had run out of a lot of the menu, not a good start. However, what little choice there remained was very good and the staff were very pleasant so still a good, if not great, experience.
Roast beef was tough. Cauliflower was burnt. Roast chicken had sold out even though we were eating early evening. No custard.
Unfortunately my husband had a holly leaf among his salad. We had a small apology from the waiter. This could have proved extremely dangerous had him or someone else who may have found it swallowed it, and may have resulted in a hospital visit. If I were chef I would have personally given an apology.
Fantastic service, friendly staff and food was amazing. Would definitely recommend!
Absolutely terrible- , shown your table but no drinks order taken for 30 minutes, another twenty after that to take our food order - when it finally arrived we enquired where the Yorkshire’s were for our children’s roast to be told “ oh yeah we have run out” - the food was ok, helped I think by us all being starving after a long journey but the communication and service was atrocious- if there is a delay you would expect the staff to say something - people were constantly being turned away despite the place being 75% empty - upon complaining I was given the whole meal for free which I hadn’t expected but to be honest my issue was never about the price- being the only restaurant on site it is a little frustrating to Spend a week in a “luxury” site and have to constantly cater outside the resort because the restaurant is so awful - we came three years ago and it was lovely- we ate in the terrace at least four times- I doubt we will go back this week
Pecan pie awesome 😍
