About The Tame Hare
Independently owned, Family run Restaurant in the centre of Leamington Spa.
Serving Local, Homegrown & Seasonal food. Freshly made on the premesis.
Constant changing menus and quirky flavour combinations along with a small but diverse wine list.
Excellent meal and experience. A shame that we were the only ones in, not surprising in the current climate, but food was exceptional and great, friendly service. Not cheap but good value considering the quality of the ingredients and one of the best meals we have had.
Excellent Sunday lunch, will be back in the future.
Superb experience, would definitely recommend. Portions on the lighter side but worked wonders for a three course meal. We also ordered the homemade breads which were inexpensive and delicious. Loved the choice of wines by the glass, including done very interesting and unusual picks such as the Georgian red.
Delicious food & attentive service. Will return!
Our first visit to The Tame Hare and it won’t be the last. Really impressed with the standard of food being served. Front of house was extremely good too. Great to see an independent restaurant of this quality in Leamington Spa.
We enjoyed our lunch here, my partner more than me. I just felt like my main could have done with some veg and the fish/ broth was really salty and quite small. The roast dinner looked amazing, it’s a shame you don’t do a veggie/ fish version. The service was quite slow considering the restaurant was pretty empty. We aren’t sure if we’d return as but we enjoyed our visit. Thanks
Excellent meal, will 100% be returning for another meal.
Nice shortish menu with unusual combinations of flavours. Excellent food, wine a bit expensive. Lovely atmosphere, mainly couples.
Food and drink were great. Service was good. Selection on menu was good for us. We both had an enjoyable evening at the Tame Hare
Best in Leamington
Food lovely, service absolutely brilliant, had a great evening overall. Only comment is the place has a slight café feel not restaurant, but it's definitely on the list to re-visit.
Had the 7 course tasting menu, everything was delicious especially the ‘simple’ haddock risotto and the seabream dish. Paired wine was fantastic. All just spot on! Defiantly will be returning in the spring for another tasting menu.....
Food was excellent, very well cooked and beautifully presented, but very small portion of fish. Total cost - £88.32 for a 1 course lunch, including a £35 bottle of wine - unfortunately. in my view, this did not represent good value for a 'casual' lunchtime dining experience. 'Discretionary' Service charge of 12.5% was added to bill - happy to tip, where tip is deserved, but this should not be added by restaurant.
1 person serving all tables was no sufficient for the price paying.
Sat near front door which was very cold as it didn’t always self close, only downside!
Imaginative menu, expertly and lovingly cooked, served with passion. Excellent wines. Brilliant.
Great food, service too rushed for such a dining experience, lovely environment!
Fabulous food, lovely atmosphere and super service. Really nice not to be eating in a generic chain restaurant. Would recommend strongly to anyone who values quality food. Great wine list too.
Relaxed atmosphere, great food and attentive service. Good value tasting menu and paired wines, it was a lovely evening and we will definitely be back!
Very accommodating for special dietary requirements, food was delicious with great service.
Really expert cooking. Examples of their great food: artichoke risotto, the best we've ever eaten; three-day cooked pork belly, so succulent; homemade foraged quince jelly (have the cheese selection), soft and really tastes of quince. A really clever wine selection. The friendly staff make this an excellent experience. Go!
We had a very enjoyable evening with fantastic food and wine.
Beautiful food and great service
Really good food, sensible portions and a great wine list. Limited menu, 3-4 choices per course, but I like that. It’s not over complicated, it’s seasonal food cooked exceptionally well. Will definitely be back.
Always lovely to eat here. Great food and service!
