About The Swan Inn
At the Swan we seek out the very best suppliers who we love to work with. Often we’ve worked with them for years but some are new but the rule is that we try to find the best. Our menus change with the seasons and we offer daily specials.
Amazing restaurant - would highly recommend!
The garden area was well managed and much of it was covered in case of poor weather. We were provided with two different menus on arrival but no explanation was provided about what food we could choose. We chose food from both menus (an in dining menu and a BBQ menu). Once our order had been made the manager approached us to say that we should only have chosen food for the whole table from one menu and we are not allowed to mix up the menus but on this occasion he would allow us to do it. I am not quite sure why he told us this as he was allowing us to use both menus. We would have happily chosen food from one menu had we been informed about this requirement when we were seated, which is a simple way of dealing with this situation, as I am sure we were not the first people to do this. The BBQ menu had no vegetarian options which is why we had used both menus as I was unable to eat a substnatial meal using the BBQ menu only. As so many people are vegan or vegetarian, it is disapppinting when lovely venues like this do not take us into account. Even on the main menu there were only salads that were vegetarian. All of the main dishes contained meat or fish. That being said the food was delicious and the dessert was amazing. It was a jaffa cake to share between 2. The food from both menus was excellent. It would be lovely to see more vegetarian options in future.
Changed reservation from the Chequers due to weather and we were so happy when we arrived!!! The table was great - against the wall under the heaters - limited menu unfortunately the ribs were not available but the steak was excellent! Just needed a warmer evening i
Beautiful garden, delicious food and very attentive staff
Absolutely fantastic evening. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Food and drink first class. Will be back ❤️
So glad you’re back! New barbecue food is wonderful and all very comfortable with the heaters and sheepskins.
Alfresco in cold waether makes Atmosphere rating difficult
I believe customer feedback is a vital tool for companies to grow to their full potential. I have eaten at TSI three times since it has opened. The 1st time our food arrived at different times, and one dish returned twice as it was undercooked, that said, the others enjoyed their food when it arrived. I note on all three occasions the customer service has been very poor, nothing that some training would correct, but the lack of it makes a visit a poor experience, having to wait 30/40 mins for a meal seems a long time, when there are only 3 tables occupied...an experience not to be repeated any time soon. Also, I think your wine list is way too top heavy, and needs some lower price point house wines. Two glasses of red wine cost £24 on our last visit, so not good value for money. The venue and atmosphere are great, but PLEASE do something about your customer service.
Absolutely fabulous, both food and atmosphere Great work setting up so well outside to cater for Covid restrictions. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend.
Very good service and excellent food. Would have been 5 stars but booked a heated seat outside but didn’t get one but table was fine.
The food was excellent as was the service. The environment is top draw, will definitely be returning to the swan.
Great pub, food was good but service was slow
Excellent location and food. Whilst the service was excellent - young lady who waited on us was brilliant in her manner and knowledge - it felt short staffed and on two occasions we had to get up to gain attention. Will come again though!
We experienced the absolute worst service ever. Such a shame as The Swan was our favourite pub in the Cotswolds (along with The Chequers and we were so looking forward to The Double Red Duke opening). We bought family with us and we were completely embarrassed. The whole afternoon was shambolic from start to finish. No apologies ... Great hospitality....I don’t think so!
It was the most awful evening. The treatment we received was appalling. The maitre’d was unwelcoming, unfriendly and his behaviour was unacceptable. Left us standing for 15 minutes in the cold. We had elderly guests who had travelled a long way, have not been out in a year and they were disregarded and treated with such disrespect. We were there for 40 minutes without a even a glass of water staring at the three empty tables with heaters, one of which I had booked online but was told we couldn’t have one, that you can’t book them online and that you have to come in to book them, which made no sense whatsoever. The maitre’d obviously considered us unworthy of one as he then moved another couple to one. The other two were still empty when we got up to leave feeling bullied, insulted and very very upset. No apology. Nothing. Not worthy of any stars but couldn’t leave a review without giving at least one. Will not be returning and highly recommend you give this place and it’s dreadful maitre’d a miss.
We had such a lovely evening visiting for dinner. With the fire and heaters, we felt very comfortable eating outside. The staff had taken on some extra tables from the sister pub in Churchill but coped amazingly with the added pressure and were extremely attentive and helpful. We could not fault the food and were so impressed. The only thing we struggled with was knowing what some of the meals were on the menu from their title. We would definitely visit again, thank you.
Brilliant food from the BBQ menu, and a great front of house team, made for a very enjoyable lunch. Will definitely visit again!
Badly organised and unfriendly hosts left us waiting for a long time and wouldn’t let us move seats to the heaters even though I specifically asked to be sat by the heaters. On arrival it was badly organised and we waited half an hour at our table just to get a drinks order. The burger was very good, the jaffa cake dessert wasn’t very nice though. Overall definitely not worth the price and wouldn’t go again.
Food was delicious but service was very poor - the service was incredibly slow (even simply to get menus and tap water when we first arrived) and a couple of the service staff were quite abrasive when taking our order / when trying to clarify details regarding our order (and in the end was wrong on two occasions when the order actually arrived). A great shame that the service let down what otherwise would have been an incredible meal.
We had such a lovely evening. Eduardo was simply amazing and helpful. Great atmosphere and wonderful food.
Great outdoor space and lovely staff
There should be separate smoking area along with dog owners.
Beautiful pub and garden, delicious food and we were served by extremely friendly people. Highly recommend
Wonderful experience - faultless
