About The Swan Inn
You’ll find us in the heart of the original Milton Keynes Village, the perfect backdrop to savour our delicious menu. Everything is freshly made in our open kitchen and changes in line with the seasons, using the best local produce we can get our hands on, served in the comforting surroundings of our restaurant. Something to note… If you think your veggies are top of the crops then bring them along…we accept them as currency!
Lovely food .
We stopped going because winter menu was not to our liking. But now much better. The food was very nice but still over priced. Also the waitresses with long hair should have it tide back and not be constantly flicked.
Great food and staff were very nice
An excellent meal with great service as always!
I was so disappointed with the service and food. We had to wait about 25 mins for even our drink order to be taken! Once we ordered our food we waited over an hour for it and my dish was so bad I couldn't even eat it! I didn't want a replacement as I didn't want to wait another hour to be served.
I came yesterday for lunch with a friend for the 1st time. Had such a lovely experience I booked in for brunch with my husband the following day!
Very nice lunch
Food and atmosphere was V nice
At all stages our large group booking was handled efficiently and effectively. Service was quick and polite. Food was delicious as always. We had a great evening.
Very nice meal as usual, staff fabulous and really friendly, thank you very much, see you again soon
Excellent Mothers Day Sunday lunch, thank you
Great night - food and service was excellent.
Food arrived cold after quite a wait. Bill was brought to the table without being asked for
The food was well presented but fell short of expectations on taste. Service was excellent. However for a quality restaurant the toilets were very poor, especially the gents which was rather dirty, this urgently needs a deep clean.
Food was delicious. Good atmosphere but large group were there and were very noisy so it was hard to hear each other talk and we had to raise our voices. Our waitress was brilliant, but the service from the bar staff was not good, as it took ages to get served when I first arrived, despite only 1 person being served ahead of us and staff were busy chatting rather than attending to other customers
We had a wonderful evening fabulous food, excellent service in a relaxing setting. Thank you
Really great food and service. One of my favourite pubs in Milton Keynes - haven't ever had a bad experience here.
The Sunday roast was as good as we have ever had anywhere and we do dine out frequently.
Cant fault the food or service really would highly recommend and will return if in area again.
Great evening. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food and friendliness if the service staff. Thank you.
Great roast dinner but felt a bit rushed staff lovely though
The starters (fishcake and crab) were good. The roast beef main course was pretty good,. The pork belly was OK but not great. The Bakewell tart was dreadful - thin, tough with o discernible texture. The Sauce Anglaise was lumpy and had no flavour at all. We sent it back. The apple and blackcurrant crumble had no blackcurrant in it. One of the two orders came with what looked like blackcurrant sorbet, but the other didn't. Maybe that was supposed to be the blackcurrant in the apple and blackcurrant. The crumble itself was dry and seemed to have been cooked separately from the filling and just put on top later. Overall the crumble was edible but no better. The prices are too high for the quality of the food - I think we're entitled to expect better for the premium prices charged. Overall very disappointing - not the standard we used to get from here over several years.
We came to celebrate my husbands birthday with our two small children on a Sunday. I had eaten here a few times about 8 years ago and was very impressed, so I decided to try it again for this occasion. I booked online and told them in the comments it was a birthday celebration and also that I might require a highchair. Unfortunately when we arrived the 4 highchairs that they have were all in use, so I couldn't of had one even if I had needed one. Our drinks order took ages and when it did appear, one drink was wrong. We all had the lamb roast dinner, my sons lamb was practically all fat, but there was no hesitation in getting this fixed and we were quickly given another piece for him. Our meals were not partically warm but they were tasty. However we do feel that the portion size was very small for the price £16 per head! We also noticed that after we had eaten, that the lamb dinners that were being plated up were actually getting two pieces of lamb and not one like ours had.... so not sure what happened there but left feeling a bit deflated and that we had not received the full portion size for the money. I won't be rushing back and it certainly has gone down hill since my last visit some years ago...
Have visited on many occasions over last few years. The worst yet. I will of course sent detailed e mail explaining why.
I was sat in a table behind the big table. It was too noisy. It was difficult for me and my partner to make a conversation. I ordered fish cake for my starter and I could not taste any fish in it though the small salad was very tasty. For that reason I would say the food was average and over charged a bit.
