About The Swan Inn
You’ll find us in the heart of the original Milton Keynes Village, the perfect backdrop to savour our delicious menu. Everything is freshly made in our open kitchen and changes in line with the seasons, using the best local produce we can get our hands on, served in the comforting surroundings of our restaurant. Something to note… If you think your veggies are top of the crops then bring them along…we accept them as currency!
Service was a little slow - 45 minutes for our first course to arrive. Having said that the food did not disappoint and the waiting staff were lovely.
Being able to pre-order food by email is good for people on their lunch break that have to get back to work. The £5 coffee and smaller pudding deal is a good idea for lunch time when you don't want a big meal.
We had a lovely time thank you but our roast potatoes and parsnips were a little under cooked and we would have liked a bit more veg, however the beef was fab! We will be back
Very good Sunday lunch prompt service. Would definitely return.
As vegetarians we were pleased to have some choice in each course and that some non- veg were adaptable. Our chosen dishes were very tasty and satisfying. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. We don’t live locally but plan to revisit you. Thank you.
Food reliably good and not overpriced. New furnishings/makeover has updated the look.
No complaints however the bean burger I ordered was completely flavourless. Literally no flavour whatsoever and very overpriced. Won’t return because of that I’m afraid.
The staff were incredibly rude and the food took forever. My beef burger was rock solid- I couldn’t even cut it with a knife and the cheese was burnt on top. My husband said his coke was flat but the beef roast was really tasty.
Used to love this place but feel like the food has really gone downhill and the menu is quite limited...added to which a few things not available. Disappointed.
We enjoyed our meal very much and the staff were friendly and efficient. The only negative is the sou d levels, probably because the room is so large with nothing to absorb sound. Our elderly mother is hard of hearing and couldn't pick out words from the general noise, I'm afraid, a d we were all raising our voices to be heard over people at surrounding tables.
We dine out regularly so I know we can comment fairly. Starters were ok but nothing special, mussels minute and a very small amount. Two of us had the gammon which was grisly, however we did like the poached egg. The creme brûlée was the worst I have had, we did comment to the waitress. Having had the best one at the Swan Salford the week before! I would like to say that the waitress was lovely and gave good service.
Bar and restaurant looked nice. The food not so. Ran out of pie and Gammon. So opt for for what a thought was shepards pie witch was so small and what a weird combination shepards pie and shredded lamb. The over thing is shouldn't waitresses be tying their hair back so it's away from the food.
We came for our anniversary and my husband's choice of gammon was he said delicious. Unfortunately my quinoa salad was lacking in both taste and texture even adding a chicken breast (which had been overcooked and dry) did nothing to improve the mush of couscous abd avocado.Take a trip to Weatherspoons and sample theirs. Adding grains and roasted vegetables and a delectable dressing, pulled chicken and salad leaves it is half the price of your offering. What a shame our favourite place did not come up to scratch.
First night of opening since refurbishment and it was excellent, minor menu issues but understandable and didn’t detract from a lovely night.Food was excellent and reasonably priced and staff genuinely courteous and attentive. 5stars easy
Nice menu great food
Starters where nice but our mains came out cold, my meat board apart from the chicken was not cooked which means I couldn’t eat it all so had to get something to eat when I got home, we go to the swan every year for our wedding anniversary (7th year) and this was the worst year.
Very good service apart from the fact there was no large wine glasses. Food was fantastic and very enjoyable.
Hi, we came for Sunday lunch with our 8 month baby & felt very welcome and comfortable. The roast beef was beautiful and our server Ella was lovely. Thank you
Been a while since we had dined here and had heard that the swan had declined somewhat. Well we saw no sign of that, good food and great service in relaxed surroundings. The Swan is still a great venue and a credit to Milton Keynes.
Very good meal as usual.
Fantastic pub for food and drink
I normally wax lyrical and have often recommended The Swan to others. I have praised the Sunday lunches as the best in Milton Keynes. However, yesterday I changed my opinion. Sadly, the service was extremely slow, yet the restaurant was not as busy as usual. The chicken on my sate starter was pink and was sent back and changed for asparagus. Some of my party of five, that had the roast beef said that the meat and potatoes were only Luke warm. My lamb however was fine. When my ice cream dessert arrived I was horrified that it had been served in a badly chipped terracotta dish, and the ‘two scoops’ consisted of one very small scoop, and just part of another. In fairness, when I complained, a male member of staff brought me another full scoop. Yesterday was a sad reflection of our former experiences at The Swan, which we use regularly. The staff appeared almost bored and disinterested (perhaps because Aisha was not there,,who has always been excellent). It was not a good dining experience, particularly as one of our party had travelled up from London on my recommendation.
What can I say excellent food lovely venue great service . I travel a lot and I can honestly say the Swan is up there with the best venues I have eaten at. Thank you to the lovely staff be proud
Fantastic service, very accommodating and understand, food great and even enjoyed by the 4 young children. Will definitely be back!
Beautiful find. We meet family half way between those living north & south. We visited the swan inn yesterday for the 1st time & couldn’t have been more impressed. Beautiful big spacious pub & restaurant, with large garden area. Service was brilliant & the food, oh my god, delicious. We all said it was one of the best meals we have had in ages! They were brilliant with any good allergies too & bringing extra sauces. Will be using this pub as our family meeting point from now on! Thank you!
