The chef catered for our gluten meat free Lunch. Many thanks.
Another fantastic experience. This is our fifth visit to The Swan, we invite two very special people as a thank you every year. This is their favourite hotel. The Christmas decorations looked beautiful and we were made very welcome.Virginija and her team looked after us all very well. Dinner and breakfast were exceptional. We love it here. See you next year.
Was under impression ‘includes a that 3 course dinner’ was a includes a 3 course dinner and not a bill in the morning for £40+ for the 3 course dinner because the package only covers a % of the meal. No wine in the room either or birthday dessert that was requested
We have stayed twice now and can thoroughly recommend The Swan. The staff are chatty and helpful, rooms perfect and the meals surpassed our expectations. Thank you, we will be back.
Very comfortable room and excellent breakfasts. Stayed for 3 nights and would have liked to see a change in the menu. Thought the evening meal menu was quite expensive. Lovely staff.
The staff & service were very good and dealt with dietary requirements adequately. The food was well prepared and nicely presented. A thoroughly enjoyable meal in pleasant surroundings.
Excellent dinner and even better breakfast. Room with a view was quiet and spacious, a perfect idyll.
Marked down on atmosphere as the bar was overflowing for a wedding function so decided to go straight in to the restaurant for a drink. The bar area was about 3 deep. The noise from the bar was very intrusive which impacted our dining experience. The lights also kept going from dim to bright and vice versa. Reason we were told was due to the rain!!!
The food was excellent on both nights we dined. Wonderful trout, great steak & pork belly, sensational raspberry ice cream with creamy panda cotta and my wife loved the rice pudding with rhubarb. All accompanied by a fresh Chilean Sauvignon Blanca and beautifully smooth Malbec. The breakfast selection was just right (great granola!). The service was very good all round and the breakfast ladies were particularly attentive & cheerful. A most enjoyable two night stay. Thank you.
We had a lovely lunch at the swan which is quite local for us, service was a bit slow at times but the maitre D looked after us well
Friendly, helpful staff - good quality food.
Lovely restaurant in beautiful setting , not cheap dining but quality is a reward for the extra cost
Very disappointed with our lunch. The waiter didn’t come back to offer us deserts or coffee even though there was only one other couple in the brasserie.
We enjoyed our stay at The Swan, the reception staff were polite and very helpful and the waitress in the dining room was particularly accommodating to my dietary needs. My only negative is that the bedroom needs updating but perhaps others may find this part of its charm!
Very good roast! Lovely setting
Very enjoyable stay slightly marred by a bad night’s sleep. The bed was comfortable but the room was very hot ( which I suppose we could have adjusted ) , the occupants of the room above seem to be walking around all night ( which the hotel could not help), but the toilet cistern took a noisy 15 minutes to fill ( which the hotel should have able to correct - being a listed building should not preclude installing a modern system ? ).
We were given a different room to one booked in September. However this was addressed by reducing our bill at checkout. Reception staff very warm and welcoming. Food was great quality but restaurant service poor. No-one around to meet and greet either at breakfast or dinner. We waited to be seated for ages as no staff around but could hear staffordable having a laugh and chit chat in kitchen. This was particularly so on our first evening - restaurant was very quiet and staff to guest ratio was high. However, when staff were available they served us but we're not attentive, quickly returing to kitchen - we could clearly overhear them chatting socially and quite loudly. At breakfast we had to ask for our cereal dishes to be removed and for our main plates to be cleared so we had room to have our toast and tea. Staff were not busy and walked past us several times without even noticing that used crockery needed removing - especially as we had a small table. We also witneshe'd one junior member of the wacting staff being told off by another probably more experiencedetails waitress. She was very sharp with him. This should have been done in private rather than humiliating him in public. That said the hotel was lovely and very unique and I would recommend it to friends.
I was ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED with everything at my birthday lunch on Sunday, it simply couldn't have been better. Martin, the waiter, was just lovely, please thank him especially for me please. The table in the slightly separate area just was more than I could have hoped for. I do live in Tenby, Pembrokeshire but my family is back up in the Cotswolds so we will be visiting you again. Many, many thanks. Sylvie Morgan
The Swan Hotel exceeded expectations insofar as comfort and location. The brasserie dinner was terrific and excellent quality of food and service. There was a problem with the hot water to the bathroom which came good after enquiries with reception but being given prior notice that 'some rooms' had experienced problems recently, would have allayed my fear that the problem lay with me i.e. could not work out how to use the shower and bath!!!! Overall, and beside the glitch a great place to stay and admire Bibury and surrounds.
Such a friendly hotel, you may think it’s expensive but it was worth every penny and pound for it! Food and drinks were fantastic, we loved our room. Overall we can not find one single fault with the the hotel as a whole! We definitely look into coming back in April 2020! Kindest regards, Mr. Aaron & Mrs. Akemi Gilson
We really enjoyed our stay at the Swan inn. The staff were really friendly and our stay was very relaxing. I was a little disappointed that I had booked the Romantic night stay using Cotsworlds breaks, which said it included a 3 course meal and it turned out that we only had £35 to spend in the restaurant, which did not cover even 2 courses. I would recommend this is amended or you provide a set menu for this offer.
Amazing place with fantastic food!!!
Nothing negative to say! We loved our stay. Even the sun shone!
