Staff were very friendly and helpful
They were very understanding of my dairy free diet and coped with it well. It was our wedding anniversary and for dessert the chef made a special celebration platter and the waiter brought us a complimentary glass of Prosecco each, it was lovely!
Had a super breakfast, as always great service and excellent food.
Our stay was a special birthday treat for my wife. The hotel staff were VERY good and went to great lengths to ensure that my wife really enjoyed her birthday. Lovely room, superb food and brilliant staff. As close to perfect as you could get.
really nice experience, the staff offered just the right level of attention in what seemed a very quiet evening in the restaurant [Thursday}. Also had an afternoon tea (part of the package], and we thought it a little cheeky to charge extra for a 'tea pot top-up', my wife's is quite well experienced in this and it's never happened in any of the London hotels she has visited.
Room was very comfortable & tastefully appointed. Staff were pleasant & helpful. Food was excellent with a variety of choices & gluten free options readily available which was important for my partner. Relaxing atmosphere in a great location, would not hesitate to return & would definitely recommend to others. Thank you.
Was absolutely lovely to come back to the swan hotel for breakfast Friday 10th May 2019. Service was brilliant had a lovely welcome from the lady who took us to our table and even congratulated me and my husband on our wedding anniversary.food came out very quickly. Really enjoyed coming back here after 2year,as we had our wedding day her in the beautiful swan gardens. Well be back next year for sure...
Coeliac gluten-free diet very well looked after - great choice and top quality. Great food and service- highly recommend.
We enjoyed our one night at The Swan. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the room excellent with plenty of the facilities that I would expect. The meal in the Brasserie was again excellent and the food well presented. The only negative was that I didn't receive my glass of wine until almost the end of my main course. The restaurant was initially busy with a coach party, but later became very quiet.
Très bonne addresse, endroit charmant, très bon service. Petite déception sur le restaurantbsauf pour le petit déjeuner qui est très bon et copies.
A pleasant lunch.
I came here 12 years ago and just had to come back as I adored it. Unfortunately this time I was disappointed. The room whilst lovely no 1. Had noise from 6am from the kitchen. Either air conditioning or generator of some sort. I slept badly on both nights. We ate dinner the first night but we had no choice of wine other than 1rose. Whilst this is very unexpected in a hotel of this type more frustrating was the waiter who did not attempt to apologise or offer an alternative. We then went to the bar afterwards and had 2 choices. He should have offered a glass from the bar at least. Still love Bibury but we had a lovely meal in the Catherine Wheel with fantastic service
We really enjoyed our evening meal in the Brasserie whilst staying in the hotel. We ate out for the next two nights in other local restaurants with good reputations but each time wished we had returned to the Brasserie based on the quality of the food and friendly but efficient service. Even when a mistake was made our waiter was empowered to tell us on the spot that he would make up for it by deducting our drinks from the bill. Overall a great experience and highly recommended.
Had a great lunch ! staff great ! food great ! Will be back !
Terrible service. Arrived at our booking time to be told that our table was not ready, despite the fact that the dining room was fairly empty. Was asked to wait in the bar area for 5 minutes and that somebody would come get us. Nobody appeared so after 10 minutes came to find what was happened to be reapproached by someone new who said that our table still wasn’t ready. At least this time they went off to sort it. Helped ourselves to some menus in the meantime to pass the time. Eventually our table was ready. Nobody came to take our order. Eventually managed to grab a passing waiter who found someone who we could order from. Ended up ordering our food and drinks at the same time as we didn’t know when they would return. Waiter returned twice to tell us that things we had ordered were no longer available. In addition to this it was a set menu and we were told that we had to order 3 courses, even though by now very few of the starters were left. Our food arrived swiftly, so swiftly in fact that the drinks hadn’t arrived and we had to chase the waiter to find out when they were coming. Food was good so such a shame about the service. In addition, a glass got broken outside the toilets that nobody bothered to clear up properly so there were shards of glass laying around.
We had a very enjoyable stay. The service and food were both great would definitely recommend a visit
Loved the hotel and the rooms. But the food was disappointing. We have stayed at other Cotswold inn hotels and the food was excellent. But our dinner and breakfast were not good. We couldn’t eat our steaks as they were full of gristle and couldn’t even cut them, at breakfast all the poached eggs were full of water so when you cut into them they filled the plate with water and soaked the toast. The service was very good. We were going to go back but will probably not now as the food is a big part of the weekend.
Great staff & service to go with it.
Everything is perfect! Food & service
Booked the Swan for an anniversary meal a couple of weekends ago. We had high hopes having had an excellent meal and stay at the Lamb Inn, Burford (a sister hotel), in the past. In general the food was good quality and service attentive initially but when the mains came I was disappointed to find the "pan fried hake" was a derisory fillet about the size of a packet of cards. We are not a couple who expect big pub-grub portions and appreciate there was some fusion cuisine going on, but allowing a serving that small to leave the kitchen is quite shocking. I was planning to mention it but after that point noone asked us how the meal was going and so the opportunity didn't arise. Real shame as otherwise the setting and food/wine was good and would reccomend it but let down by the cost of a few pounds at the fishmonger. I don't know whether it was the last one left or something, but in which case you probably need to let the customer choose whether or not to have a half serving! On the plus side, the chocolate fondant was excellent!
Very good service
Many thanks to the staff who served us and made my wife’s first Mother’s Day so special. We will return. Please pass on our thanks to those who served us, very courteous and professional.
We had a super meal, the only disappointment was the beer that my husband had, the Cotswold ale was poor. But we were offered an alternative which was an improvement.
Best location and service, bed so softy and cleaning rooms
