Una excelente y calida experiencia, no solo por este hermoso pueblo de Bibury, pero especialmente por la atencion recibida en el hotel. Altamente recomendado para estadias en esta zona de los Cotswolds!
Great service and truly scrumptious food. It is well worth the money and so relaxed. We will be back again for a couple of nights in the near future. Thank you
The location of The Swan is fantastic, and the building itself fits the surroundings. The food was brilliant, the atmosphere calm and peaceful and the food was great. The service was top notch, made for the perfect Sunday lunch. Would highly recommend.
We came here on Saturday because I wanted to show my bridesmaids where we are getting married next August. They were very impressed!!
Love coming to Swan so lovely x and relaxing staff so nice too x
Beautiful hotel. The staff were so friendly, kind and helpful from every stage of the booking through to checking out. When they realised we were newlyweds, they were lovely! The food was delicious! I cannot rate you highly enough- we will definitely be returning!
Perfect little break
We have regularly visited The Swan over the years and were excited to visit again. The main course was poor to say the least. Meagre tasteless portions for premium pricing. It appears that the constant stream of non returning tourists are also all getting ripped off. Unsure if we will ever visit again.
Great menu and very friendly and helpful staff.
We were made extremely welcome by Virginia who made us feel so special during the whole of our stay. It makes such a difference to feel wanted when you are old. Unfortunately the food mix let us down with our allergies until the third night Ernesto took down a pre-order meal for us and the last dinner was fabulous. Hallibut risotto with no garlic no dairy no gluten and no clams for my wife. It was still a very tasty meal thoroughly enjoyed. We are really thankful for Ernesto who took the time and trouble to make us happy. We will be back if we visit UK again.
I felt very well looked after by all the staff in the restaurant, which is nice when one is travelling on ones own.
Great pub and great village.
We found the service levels, ambiance and friendliness of all staff to be second to none... would highly recommend your hotel. Jeremy P (stayed September 20178)
One of the nicest meals out we're had in a long time. Staff were spot on in terms of being attentive without crowding. Food was excellent...very well presented, good portion size and beautifully cooked.
The wait staff were very kind and attentive but missed on some basics. For instance, my wife's water glass was not refilled. Not at all. For us, that is a big miss. You should not have to ask for it to be refilled. There seemed to be confusion as so many different people were involved with serving our table, they could not coordinate their services. As I said, they were kind and attentive, but it was not the level of professionalism I expect in any restaurant, other than a serve yourself buffet. The food was delicious. The serving sizes were very small for the amount charged.
We arrived early for our booking and I mentioned to someone in the bar that we had a booking at 4pm, he told me that was not possible as the kitchen shuts at 4pm and we shouldn't have been allowed to make a booking. This worried us a little but nobody offered to check that the booking had been confirmed. After ordering a round of drinks we asked if it would be possible to dine earlier as I was worried they would close the kitchen at 4pm. They staff were accomodating and brought us through to our table. I ordered a large glass of wine and when it came I thought it seemed awfully small, I just assumed they'd misheard and brought me a smaller glass so I was surprised when I was charged for a large glass, next time I would question whether it really was large before drinking any as I felt it was too late when we had the bill. The menu was a little bit disappointing, the sample sunday menu online showed that they offered a nut roast and whilst I am aware it is only a sample menu, it was very disappointing not to see a vegetarian roast offered (although the waiter did say I could order a beef roast and they would take the beef off) I instead opted for one of the two vegetarian options, a pasta dish. My partner ordered the beef roast. The pasta dish was bland and the pasta overcooked; my partner said the roast was disappointing too. We really didn't feel it was worth the money and would've complained if we'd had a check back, but there was no check back, and despite me leaving more than half my meal the waiter didn't ask how the meal was he just took the plates. This made us feel a bit awkward about complaining and we just paid and left. The service was ok, but not great, the staff were friendly enough but it just lacked something, for example when my partner asked for some horseradish sauce the waiter sharply replied "what" not awful service but not quite the service we expected. Sad to say we won't be going back or recommending this place to anyone.
I experienced no difficulty parking, but I would hesitate to recommend the Swan because it did appear to me to be too limited for the hotel when operating at full capacity
A great Hotel to explore the Cotwolds from. The 4 four poster room was well furnished with quality additions including proper coffee machine , lots of storage , bathroom with Whirlpool was excellent. The Hotel staff couldn't do enough to help in all areas. Whilst not the cheapest Hotel it was brilliant value for money it you want to splash out a little more than a standard business stay. A beautiful Hotel in a beautiful village.
Enthusiastic and helpful staff. Good ambiance.
The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. We loved the waiters promptness and sense of humor. Really enjoyable dinner overall.
I was not aware until after the meal that you had an overflow car park. Really busy yesterday so I may have missed a sign. Also I guess you don't want it too visible given the hordes outside!!
The man at the check in desk (both when we checked in and out) was a credit to his profession. Friendly, sincere, welcoming and helpful. He clearly understands that it's the little things that make a difference - for example offering to hang onto our shopping bags while we used the toilet next to the reception desk. Unfortunately I didn't catch his name but he was a younger man with dark hair and a slight accent. The Whooper cottage was amazing, one of the nicest places I have stayed in a while. The outdoor hot tub was great. We appreciated the kind gesture of champagne and chocolates and even a hand written card left for my boyfriend in the room (this was a birthday surprise for him). We will certainly be back.
I thoroughly recommend this restaurant after a stroll along the river. The pea soup was really tasty and the trout, well if this restaurant cant do trout then we are in trouble, was divine. The staff are attentive without being intrusive, and are happy to let you try wine by the glass before ordering. Can’t wait to return but it may be a while - its a fair drive from Yorkshire!
