We had a very enjoyable stay. The service and food were both great would definitely recommend a visit
Loved the hotel and the rooms. But the food was disappointing. We have stayed at other Cotswold inn hotels and the food was excellent. But our dinner and breakfast were not good. We couldn’t eat our steaks as they were full of gristle and couldn’t even cut them, at breakfast all the poached eggs were full of water so when you cut into them they filled the plate with water and soaked the toast. The service was very good. We were going to go back but will probably not now as the food is a big part of the weekend.
Great staff & service to go with it.
Everything is perfect! Food & service
Booked the Swan for an anniversary meal a couple of weekends ago. We had high hopes having had an excellent meal and stay at the Lamb Inn, Burford (a sister hotel), in the past. In general the food was good quality and service attentive initially but when the mains came I was disappointed to find the "pan fried hake" was a derisory fillet about the size of a packet of cards. We are not a couple who expect big pub-grub portions and appreciate there was some fusion cuisine going on, but allowing a serving that small to leave the kitchen is quite shocking. I was planning to mention it but after that point noone asked us how the meal was going and so the opportunity didn't arise. Real shame as otherwise the setting and food/wine was good and would reccomend it but let down by the cost of a few pounds at the fishmonger. I don't know whether it was the last one left or something, but in which case you probably need to let the customer choose whether or not to have a half serving! On the plus side, the chocolate fondant was excellent!
Very good service
Many thanks to the staff who served us and made my wife’s first Mother’s Day so special. We will return. Please pass on our thanks to those who served us, very courteous and professional.
We had a super meal, the only disappointment was the beer that my husband had, the Cotswold ale was poor. But we were offered an alternative which was an improvement.
Best location and service, bed so softy and cleaning rooms
Lovely room and hotel in a lovely setting. Service a little slow in the bar, but food & drink very nice.
Food was only average but service was very friendly and efficient. Atmosphere was more of a hotel restaurant and less of a country pub so a little disappointing given what we'd expected. Fish and chips with mushy peas = tiny pot of pea puree, rather soft battered fish and some overcooked chips Pork roast had limited actual meet and crackling, barely any vegetables and an overdose of filling of potatoes. Most disappointing was the tiramisu that 3 of our party of 5 ordered and which was left barely touched on their plates. it was massively dry, more bread than tiramisu! and most disappointingly, noone asked if there was any issue with it when they saw the unfinished plates ; an offer of a replacement would have been useful to say the least.
Nice relaxed setting, friendly service and great food.
We had a wonderful 3 night break at The Swan and will revisit and/or go to another hotel owned by the same owners. We particularly loved the decor, there wasn’t anything we would’ve changed, all very cosy and restful. Just one point - the service in the dining room on Wednesday night was not as good as the other nights. Breakfast service every day was exceptional, the blonde lady was very attentive, we were served in a very courteous and efficient manner - full marks to her from us both. Lovely hotel and surroundings and yes, we would recommend to all our friends and family. Regards Diana and Derek
Staff was extremely pleasant
Many things have changed for the better. If there is one little criticism I have it is that the rooms are quiet, but the hall and corridor floor boards are creaking to the extent of disturbing the guests who have already gone to bed. Moreover, and I know what heritage would say to this criticism, the doors are not very well sound proofed.
Lovely food and service
We had a fantastic and relaxing stay here and all of the staff made us feel very welcome.
Had a great meal amongst a busy Sunday service, with happy efficient staff. Already recommended to people I work with and will return myself.
Adam and Virginia were amazing. Adam helped me so much with my booking and gave me the best customer service I have ever received and Virginia was so welcoming- top class!!
The food was excellent, and the staff were very pleasant and efficient, would certainly return in the future.
We visited The Swan Hotel to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. From the moment we arrived I could not fault your team's hospitality. Our room upgrade was a very pleasant surprise - the room beautifully appointed and the bathroom - utterly incredible! Parking was a little difficult as Bibury is such a popular tourist destination and the hotel car park was full - but I am not sure how this could be overcome. I will certainly be re-booking my 50th celebration with you next year.
Visited The Swan Hotel on a Winter Break deal. Excellent value, superb service and a beautiful hotel, spotless throughout. Based on that kind of deal, would not hesitate to return or recommend to others. Thankyou for a lovely visit!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Swan Hotel. All the food was excellent, all home made from wonderful local ingredients, the evening meal in the restaurant (just the right mix of excellent service and relaxed informality) the delicious afternoon tea and little homemade shortbread biscuits, and the breakfast was just brilliant.
Incredibly slow service. Dressed crab good but with hardly any bread to have it with. Chefs selection of deserts awful.
