The whole experience was made extra special due to the services of our superb waiter in the bar
Such a lovely place but the roast just wasn't as expected, the portions were small (which isn't a problem coz the starter was lovely) but the lamb was extremely chewy with very tough pieces of fat through out, had to waist more than half of it. The veggies were cold and dry. Maybe my luck. My friend had the beef and felt it was better than the lamb but nothing special. we thought a countryside pub would have local meat which would be really great but :-(
The hotel is beautiful with welcoming staff, the food was excellent. The food service was bit slow.
Throughout the room we stayed there were multiple signs with price lists for various things, such as the Molton Brown toiletries, the rubber ducky and the teddy bear on the bed. We were surprised therefore to find that the prosecco left on ice on the kitchen table at our arrival was not complimentary, since unlike everything else in the room there was no price tag attached. Also, why would you put prosecco on ice and not just leave it in the fridge if it wasn’t complimentary? We were even more surprised to find that it was labelled on our bill as champagne, not prosecco, at a cost of £45, despite costing only £8 in the shops for the same brand. Luckily we hadn’t drunk it, but it was rather awkward to have to return it to reception whilst pointing out the difference between champagne and prosecco.
Lovely hotel, in a lovely little village. The room is so colourfully decorated and will totally uplift. Huge bathroom with shower and Molton Brown toiletries to properly pamper one's self. The restaurant has very nice dishes - we were lucky enough to eat in the outside area as it was nice and warm. Definitely would recommend for a short break to get away from the hustle and bustle.
Amazing atmosphere, charming staff, great food, just a wonderful experience
Very good Sunday lunch with super service - all members of staff were pleasant, welcoming and helpful. We would have liked a fresh fruit choice for dessert but otherwise the food was very good.
We had our meals and drinks. Next time I think we will stay.
Menu was mediocre, nothing exceptional. More vegetarian / vegan options would have been nice. Excellent online booking. Liked the in/house filtered spring water.
Good quality food. Staff were very accomodating towards one member of the party who couldn't find anything on the evening menu they liked. Very attentive staff who constantly refilled our water glasses. Highly recommend.
Incorrect order taken. Issues to resolve took time. Just bad customer service when taking a friend somewhere that I had praised very highly in the past. Disappointed in our visit.
Absolutely fantastic meal and the service from all the staff was just perfect. Will be back again soon
Congratulations! Excellent in everything! Eliane
Friendly service; stunning location; beautifully and comfortably decorated interior; lovely sitting in the hotel garden by the stream and court yard!
Treatment by Head Waiter was exceptional
The service and food was not up to the usual standard. When we arrived at The Swan, we ordered drinks in the bar. We were told to take a seat and the drinks would be brought over. After waiting 15 minutes, we had to get the drinks ourselves as they were just sitting on the bar. We had Roast lunches - the veg was underdone - it just needed a minute or so more. We also had to ask for the bill three times which is always irritating. Will not rush back.
I would definitely recommend to have dinner & breakfast at Swan Hotel. I never had such great lamb. I have not had such a good sleep for so long. It locates next to a small river, so I left the window open to listen to the water flow. It was so peace and quiet.
Really impressed with the friendly service, laid back atmosphere and good food. Loved it!
I would like to say your staff made my parents diamond wedding anniversary. They loved every minute and our waiter was amazing. Thank you
Staff were exceptionally good.
The Hotel was very full, the service was good but NOT great, as we are local we shall be back again.
Fabulous food, attentive staff all in a wonderfully relaxing environment. Couldn’t ask for more. Thank you
Excellent experience. Well done! Your servers are like family!
