Wonderful stay in Trumpeter Cottage. We were made so welcome (including our little dog) on arrival and throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Food in The Brasserie on our first night was first class as was the second night in the Bar. Great atmosphere- would highly recommend. Thank you all.
Stayed many times, always very good
Superb pub and restaurant with a great menu of local far in a beautiful village. Staff were great.
Everyone commented how lovely the roast lunch was - especially the gravy! The sticky toffee pudding was also amazing
I thoroughly enjoyed the food, ambience and friendly service at The Black Swan, Bibury last week. The John Dory dish was so flavoursome, and the Carrot Fritters from the starters was equally as good! Very friendly team. Chilled vibe/atmosphere.
An excellent meal and the service was very good. Nothing was too much trouble.
I thoroughly enjoyed my relaxing break at the picturesque Swan Hotel. Everything was first class. The room was lovely and the bed comfortable. The room service was efficient and nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious. Enjoyed an evening meal and cocktails in the restaurant one evening. The food was fine dining and excellent quality. I really couldn’t fault anything. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the beautiful Cotswolds village.
Had a lovely break in your hotel. Staff friendly and welcoming. A special thanks to Amanda who made breakfast a relaxing and enjoyable experience with her bubbly and friendly personality. Food was fresh and delicious. The only slight negatives were the weak and lukewarm shower in our room (Tadpole) and that you had run out of the yummy marmalade when we went to buy it !! Beautiful location.
Great venue, fabulous service and food was great - only meal that was a slight disappointment was the falafel burger which was very dry but would be back again.
Wonderful meal and atmosphere. We were made to feel very welcome and the service was consistently good through the meal. Quality of food and ingredients were superb. highly recommend.
We stayed here for a long weekend ,the service was first class the food fine (the only problem there weren’t any shower caps for my wife)but lovely stay any way, thanks to all the staff.
The staff are excellent, the location is perfect and the establishment is one of the best we have experienced. The rooms are clean, decorated and well maintained, The food is brilliant and really does add to the whole atmosphere and enjoyment of your stay.
We were upgraded to the Trumpeter Cottage which is a delight with a lounge downstairs with a log fire and bedroom up stairs. It even has its own small garden [for when the weather is warmer!]
Super place, really enjoyed our stay. Bit surprised that you closed the bar to residents on Sat pm for a function though
Our stay at the Swan was first rate from start to finish. The professional staff were engaging and anticipated our needs without being over the top; dinner & breakfast were excellent in their own right; and the atmosphere was exactly what I imagine most people are looking for in a location such as this. Would happily return.
24th Dec table 11 640413 . All good, except being charged incorrectly for bar drinks. I ordered 2 pints, in error 3 were brought to our table, one was taken back but this not removed from the bill. I only noticed the overcharge when i got home, this has left a bad impression after a really nice meal and good place to meet my parents however I am not so sure if i will revisit now.
Excellent evening with beautiful service and food
Wonderful Sunday lunch, lovely menu, very friendly attentive staff, very cosy and relaxing, highly recommended - cannot wait to come back!
Quite expensive but food is beautifully cooked and presented.
Our Son was married on the 28th December locally and we booked a table for a post wedd8ng dinner for 10 guests. As a family we had a super time, however one meal arrived with plastic in between the burger and cheese and the John Dory fish was dry. Whilst the plastic burger meal was replaced there was no apology from management. This was so disappointing and not what you would expect from the hotel. 2 other weddings were taking place and the team were only interested in the weddings. Originally we were all going to stay overnight however we are relived we didn’t as we would have been bitterly upset. The hotel need to reflect on their service to other guests when holding events. This meal was extremely exspensive and a huge let down. Earlier in the day we visited the hotel and tried to get afternoon tea. We were told it was closed today.... Too busy. We should have changed our booking at that point. There was nobody to express our experience to on the evening as they were with the other guests. A very poor experience. Not sure how the hotel retains its reputation on turning away guests in the daytime and serving burgers with the plastic from a processed cheese portion. The plastic had melted all into the burger. You need to change for 2019.
We stayed here over Christmas and every meal was excellent ... we could not fault the food and the service was outstanding we cannot recommend The Swan enough
Food and setting excellent. Initially service felt rushed and lacking attention. Orders taken quickly and menus snatched away. The dining room was busy but our first contact with our waiter was not warm and welcoming and was disappointing. Other than that we enjoyed the food and had a nice time.
In an idyllic village, with beautiful views and a hot spot of the bucolic tourist market, The Swan has much to recommend it. The food is decent and many of the staff enthusiastic and friendly. Unfortunately, on our recent visit, all of this was ruined by the manager, who seems to have confused his calling. Hatchet faced and with a Bond villain’s moutache, he seems to hate all guests and in particular children. Our Christmas lunch and gift exchange was somewhat marred by his Scrooge impersonation, as he constantly sighed, frowned and ignored our party. His disdain was perhaps best expressed by his haughty delivery of a soup spoon to a two year old wanting something to eat her ice cream with. Merry Christmas!
A most enjoyable stay extremely friendly and professional staff, would just say it would be nice to see a selection of real ale at the bar, Hook Norton or Hobgoblin as they are reasonably local breweries, I have no connection with these breweries just like the beer, all the best for the future Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
