About The Swan at Nibley
Our menu and wine list has something for everyone! We embrace the principle of good food in relaxed surroundings and have always endeavoured to use the freshest and best of ingredients and buy locally wherever possible.
Whilst our main menu is fantastic, the Specials Board is where our Head Chef, Anthony Jones, gets all creative so we would definitely recommend that you have a look at the specials before ordering.
We had another very good meal. Good choice of menu with a good variety of dishes. Will definitely be making another visit.
I am a great fan of the Swan altho wld say slightly disappointed in the roast ..lamb was hard to cut and tasteless..cauliflower cheese hard and carrots very over cooked..it was educationally hot upon arrival and stagnent ..having had a roast elsewhere last week for £6 less was quite disappointed
Great food and service . Will definitely return again and again.
This pub is a favourite of ours. Lovely evening out again. Discovered that you offer vegan puddings as we saw a blackboard when we left - definitely be back to sample those !
Lovely evening at the swan....I had the mushroom spinach and blue cheese Wellington...it could have done with a sauce as it was a little bit dry......my friend had the blade of beef which was delicious, my other friend the pie of the day also very very nice. The atmosphere is always relaxing and cosy. Thank you.
A very enjoyable lunch with good friends, good food and good service. 3of 4 of us did not want an alcoholic drink and were surprised that The Swan did not offer Elderfower pressee but settled for Elderflower tonic, pleasant enough. The service was attentive but not intrusive, just right.
We have always had a good meal here. Generous portions cooked to our liking.
Food at the Swan is always of good quality and an enjoyable expereience.Pleasant surroundings and friendly staff add to the occasion.
Always go for lunch as find it difficult to get in on a Friday and Saturday evening. Food always good and drinks are around the same price as most pubs.
A wonderful Sunday lunch. The staff were great with our 1 year old waving at him from afar and chatting to him when they served our food. Beautiful food and a lovely afternoon.
Superb as usual
Sunday lunch 10/10
The quality of the food was excellent, and the variety of menu options are nice to see. As ever, staff are courteous and polite. My negative points were the long delay in receiving our food (40 mins) and I felt that the food portions were quite small for the price, given that we were eating pub food.
For the first time not such a good meal. What a shame . But we will go back
I had steak my husband had gammon steak we didn’t like that the food was served on a small plate , I would call it a sandwich plate not a dinner plate , when we go again I will ask if we can have our food on a dinner size one
Hadn’t been to the swan at Nibley for a few years but we were not disappointed the service was excellent the staff were just great and very polite nothing was to much trouble the food was very nice the atmosphere was nice and relaxing and we will definitely be returning.
Always very welcoming. Pleasant staff. Nice atmosphere.
We have always enjoyed our numerous visits to The Swan. The friendly greeting on arrival is unusual & much appreciated.
Great meal good customer service and friendly atmosphere.
Disappointing on this occasion. Table not ready and nowhere to sit comfortably and wait. When seated it was directly outside the gents toilet and we had to ask to be moved we had to find someone when seated to order a bottle of wine rather than someone see our dr8nks where finished. Have been before and had a much better experience. Maybe just a bad night and too busy
We first discovered the Swan over 2 years ago where we had an excellent meal. We have been back with family & friends several times since and the standard of food had remained excellent, backed up with attentive service. Last night we had a table of 5 booked for 7pm but left, for the first time, a little disappointed. 3 of our table went for the duck special and 2 for the Hake special. The 2 who opted for the Hake did so as the seafood pasta it was served with was supposed to come with octopus, calamari, muscles and shrimps. Both loved calamari so that swayed their meal choice. Firstly the waitress came back and advised there was no octopus, both asked if they could have extra calamari instead. What they both got however was extra shrimp. In fact they both found just two pieces of calamari in the pasta seafood. Of the 3 who opted for Duck I was one and asked for mine to be not too pink, it was served as asked and very good. The other 2 however found their duck a little tough and chewy. I didn’t get the name of our primary waitress, middle aged wearing glasses, but was not overly impressed. 3 of us would have ordered an extra drink midway through the main course but were never asked. I was going to get up and go to the bar, but the other 3 said to leave it. Then after our main course was cleared, we waited for 15 mins before I did get up and go to the bar to chase for being shown deserts. The deserts were good, but my order of the fruit pie came a couple of mins after the other 4 were served and then the pot of custard was near cold. I asked for the pot to be replaced and this time the custard was steaming hot, so by the time I actually got to start my desert the other 4 had finished theirs. To add to the little meal and serving disappointments, halfway through we found ourselves next to a very loud table of 9 that arrived, which made table conversation for us, 1 person of which uses a hearing aid, strained. So all-in-all somewhat disappointed with the whole experience for the first time in visiting the Swan.
Our mains were excellent but we felt that the Lemon meringue desert had an unusual texture and did not have a real lemony taste. Other than that our meal was great and the service and value for money excellent, thank you.
Lovely evening. Great food and service.
Have been having Sunday lunch at the Swan for quite a long time and always thoroughly enjoy it. Food is extremely good, service very quick and pleasant and the atmosphere is restful. Really recommend
excellent as usual
