Made my friends birthday really lovely! Thank you so much ❤️
The Swan was incredible. The food was to die for... really reasonably priced and totally delicious. The team is so lovely and really knowledgeable about all of the dishes. We had a really lovely time, and will definitely return.
Eating lunch at 14:30 meant that some items were unavailable but surprisingly this included potatoes The first bill was wrong, charging me for a bottle of wine instead of a glass The second bill then appeared higher because other items had been forgotten on the first bill. It was unclear when we had chosen menu items with a supplement. The bill showed “A la carte x4 = £114” which was 4 x two course at £25 plus £14 of supplements. Service staff were hard to find when we wanted the bill. The hostess was by far the best of the staff we saw.
We had a really lovely meal yesterday , maybe a little more lamb please. Can’t fault the menu or the food it was all delicious
Enjoyed an excellent evening at The Swan. The food was delicious especially the pea veloute starter. The décor is very much in keeping with the vinery theme. Definitely recommend
Really expensive. Tiny portions.
excellent food, great service, lovely ambiance. Would definitely recommend to others
Kate and her team run a fabulous restaurant - nothing is too much trouble. The food is fresh, delicious, exciting and local - we are so lucky to have such a great venue in Tenterden. Can’t wait to visit again! Thank you to everyone for making our lunch so special.
This was a special occasion and the reception was friendly, the waitress at the table was excellent, the food delicious and up to your usual standard. Thanks for the chocolate piped birthday wishes with petits fours.
This Restaurant is local to our home but this was our first visit with friends who had travelled down from London. We had a wonderful evening with friends, the food was excellent, service very very good, the atmosphere was perfect with a great ambiance and we will definitely be returning.
Also fabulous setting Portions on the small side
Great meal - good service
Nothing to fault. Best meal out we have had since moving to the area last Summer. Only suggestion would be to try to find a way to install a lift for those who struggle with stairs - a real challenge for my 80 year old parents
Perfect end to a tour of the winery
We have been to the Swan several times and always enjoyed it, however, this time the service was slower than previous occasions which I suspect was due to the large event parties that they seemed to have in. Still a lovely lunch and will certainly visit again but something to consider when booking large parties.
Although we had booked for 1245 we were left unattended until after 1300hrs at which time we went to the bar to ask if we could have a drink? Also, although the food was very tasty, the portion sizes are quite small. Lastly the drink prices are exorbitant! £9 for a standard glass of rose!
Felt that your wine prices were very expensive bearing in mind you sell chapel down wines in the shop for half the price. You then automatically add a 13% discretionary service charge on the bill which also includes the wine!! We did not leave this out of principle. Too many different waiters and waitresses serving us think we had four in total no one really stood out if honest. Lovely food though and menu
We thoroughly enjoyed our late lunch st the swan and despite nearly being the last to leave at 5pm, the staff were courteous and we certainly didn’t feel rushed. The only criticism of the food was the size of the portion of brill ... it was very meagre for my poor husband who ended up eating an oversized Yorkshire pudding to compensate !!.. I would also suggest that the bread could be better, but we had a lovely time despite that and would thoroughly recommend it, especially with a little wine tasting downstairs and a tour of this beautiful vineyard
We've dined here a number of times and have always enjoyed the food, wine and atmosphere. On this occasion we were entertaining a friend from California and all was going well until a noisy and boisterous group of six was seated on the table next to us towards the end of our meal. They were so loud we couldn't carry on a conversation and felt quite intimidated. We finished desert, settled up and left without coffee. It ruined our evening.
Great food and great service.
Booked Lunch for my friends 40th. Absolutely loved it. Beautiful setting. Superb food and fantastic service. Highly recommend to everyone. Will definitely be back. Thank you for making the day special.
We had a fabulous lunch at Chapel Down, the food was delicious. The Maitre D’ was brilliant and paired a wine to both our meals (the Pinot Noir) which was perfect. The staff were friendly and the little touches in the restaurant and bar gave it all a good finish. Would recommend and will definitely be returning.
