About The Sticky Wicket
Family friendly sports bar & eatery.
We arrived after making a reservation to be told the kitchen was closed.
Staff were very good and had a good meal
Relaxed table service for the food which was ordered by app and brought to the table by friendly human. Made to feel welcome throughout our stay, food was really good and we will return soon to support local business.
Really nice meal as usual! Felt very safe. Look forward to coming back.
Great and professional service under the current requirements from the moment we entered to leaving.
Nice tea time food and drink
Safest place to visit following Covid 19 lockdown. Measures put in place are excellent and administered well. Good atmosphere both inside and out and lovely place to sit in the sun on an afternoon and evening. Very pleased with visit and happy to return.
Great place but we need to get back to normal with distancing. But we will get there. Keep up the great work guys.
Enjoyed our meals all was well presented. Two of our desserts were not warmed through but that was quickly recified and deducted them from our bill which was appreciated.
Great pub, my absolute favourite!
They did not have any record of my booking, I had my confirmation email. There was no problem seating us and the service was excellent and friendly. Lots of new measures in place which were clearly explained on arrival. Food was nice, only complaint was the side of mac n cheese was tasteless.
So pleased you are open again, great safe service, great staff, well done!
Can not be beat! Sunday dinner was beautiful and would 100% recommend the belly pork. First outing in post-COVID-19 environment and The Stickey Wicket has comfortable social distancing down to a tee! Atmosphere is not affected whilst at the same time ensuring the safety of customers.
Excellent service, well organised to adhere to social distancing, delicious food. Love it
Excellent service and 10/10 COVID safe - well done to all
Yet again a fantastic all round experience at the Sticky Wicket. They had prepared extremely well for the re-open after lockdown and have the best staff working there.
We had a great night and the staff were great
Service and staff very helpful
The bar staff were under resources, there is only one card machine so upon finishing our food to pay the bill we had to join the long queue at the bar as there server couldn’t bring us the o key card machine working.
The set menu on a Sunday is good value, excellent choice. Lovely food. Service abit slow, more organisation needed & im not a fan of dogs sitting round people eating, there should be a particular area for them. But we will definitely return
Barmaid was a great help turning on commentary for the football. Food was decent. We will be back to watch the football more often.
Booked for Sunday lunch, arrived at approximately 2.30 and was seated straight away. Table hadn't been wiped down so was done while we were seated. Ordered garlic mushroom starter which when arrived was about 6 or 7 mushrooms absolutely smothered with cheese, far too much cheese for the size of the dish. There was no cutlery on the table and when some was brought there were 4 knives and only one fork so off to the bar I went as there was none available where the cutlery is stored. Main meal arrived which was mince and dumplings. Dumplings were hard as rock all the way through. All in all not a very good experience as this is the first time at the sticky wicket. We eat out regularly and this has to be the worst experience in a long time. Very disappointing to say the least
Lovely time in New Year’s Eve, thank you.
Four of us ate on a Monday lunchtime & for the majority of the time twe were there we were the only customers. The food - three dirty burgers & a mince & dumplings was absolutely fine but what spoiled the visit was the fact that the bar was cold. Whilst the barman did his best to get some heat to come through, the only place that was warm was the entrance between the two sets of doors. This is a large space & perhaps if there had been more customers there would have been more of a cosy atmosphere but from this experience we won’t hurry to return
