About The Star Inn
A cosy countryside pub boasting a huge beer garden that has a play area for children, The Star at Lingfield is set in the beautiful Surrey countryside, opposite an historic church. Crackling fires make for an inviting ambience, and there are weekly pub quizzes and popular Sunday roasts.
Local, seasonal ingredients go in to The Star at Lingfield menu, featuring British pub classics and flavours from around the world. There are sharing boards of treats like baked camembert infused with honey and rosemary, as well as a Spanish charcuterie board that includes crusty bread and dipping oils. Hearty favourites include Dublin pie with beef in a Guinness gravy, Gloucester Old Spot sausages and mash, and beer-battered cod. There are juicy steaks from the grill, as well as a burger selection.
Cask ales and international beers are served at The Star at Lingfield, as well as an ample wine selection. For pudding, there is apple, peach and raspberry crumble with warm custard, and pistachio pavlova with fresh mango.
Also serving a selection of gluten-free dishes, The Star at Lingfield is filled with rustic rural charm, and sits 7 minutes' walk from Lingfield Rail Station.
Great service, hearters were great food was amazing. Great to reach have a drink and lovely meal while the little ones played x
Shall be happy to sit outside even when it is possible to eat indoors.. We were very impressed with all your arrangements.
Excellent as always. Staff friendly, helpful and efficient. Food good. Ambience great
Pleasant staff. Beer is always in good condition.
We decided to attend the star for dinner on Wednesday evening as it was our anniversary. I made a mistake when it came to leaving a tip but was quickly resolved. When returning home and looked at the receipt i noticed that when the staff were refunding the money back on to my card they kept £15 tip off for a tip without asking. It was raining so just wanted to get home which is why I didn’t question it at the time. However the food was fantastic & the atmosphere was very cosy and warm.
The whole light lunch that we four ladies planned was excellent in all aspects. I will be back to try an evening meal
Fantastic playground. Attentive staff with quick service. Wouldn’t hesitate recommending.
Really well set up outside area
Nice to be back in one of our lovely local pubs.
All good, but a little expensive in my opinion. I think all pubs have upped their prices to try and recoup their losses from Covid during lockdown though.
Lovely atmosphere, great staff and very attentive! Highly recommend!
Great set up for Covid outdoor dining. You can sit at the open tables for drinks only. Service for drinks can bd a little bit slow if they are busy serving food / clearing tables. Really friendly team who work there. Great food + drinks selection and fantastic Sunday roasts
Amazing help and support with our residents, thank you! Lovely meal too.
We love the setting at the Star and was pleased we could get a tablet for 5 on Sunday. The food choice (alfresco) was limited but we all found something we liked,. We had a drinks order taken straight away and they arrived very quickly which was great. We ordered our food, starters arrived very quickly but we had to wait an hour from placing our order to getting our main courses. This was not really acceptable. The food we received was very good and tasty. The table service from the staff was absolutely terrible. They were all congregating around the bar inside and not attending the tables outside.......perhaps they were cold, like us!! We were going to order 4 desserts but no one came to take our order and then we decided against it. The pub could have got another £20-30 from us. What a shame. We will probably try again once more for lunch may be but not on a Sunday. Thank you for the opportunity to give feedback.
Great atmosphere, could have done with comfier chairs & maybe sides on the marquee as was very windy. Food good, service was good, but more choice on the menu would have been great
Very friendly staff. Thank you so much for a lovely experience:)
We ordered starters however we received our main meal before we got our starters. When we asked about this we was told the chefs didn’t get the ticket for the starters.
Awesome as always, love the outdoor seating area. The Sunday roasts were delicious!!
Warm and inviting. Sat by heater which helped as chilly day. Food was great and hot. Really enjoyed first time at the Star. Will definitely come again.
Loved our lunch here, food was delicious and drinks also went down very well! Will definitely be back, can't wait to spend more time here this summer.
Lovely salad and two burgers, although the fish and chips was a bit oily (but that could have been the fish itself 😃). Great service and really well sorted with social distancing and timed bookings. See if you can get a table under the magnificent tent, as imagine it was a bit warmer.
Food was good but would have liked to see a few more choices for starters and mains.
Friendly, clean and efficient service in a community hub atmosphere, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves
good atmosphere... lovely food and drink
