About The Stables at Beamish Hall
The Stables Bar & Restaurant is situated at the back of the Hall in the converted 18th century stable block. The restaurant features a large external courtyard and the building itself has been lovingly restored and retains the building’s original features. You will be greeted by original stone floors, exposed beams, antique furniture, roaring winter log fires and, of course, Northern hospitality.
Welcoming both our residents as well as walk-in guests, The Stables offers satisfying seasonal menus with dishes prepared from the freshest, local ingredients.
Came for Sunday lunch, drinks arrived with literally 2 minutes which was unreal. Starters and wings unreal. However... the beef on the Sunday lunch was the worst, couldn't even cut through it. All 3 of us left the meat as we weren't able to eat it. Report it to server and didn't really say anything.
Lovely food and great service 😊
Our first time eating out post-lockdown. We felt comfortable and enjoyed our food and drinks
Love it here, great vegan options, would love there to be more choice on the Sunday menu as just one vegan option when there’s loads of choice on other days. But lovely food and great service!
Lovely meal. Lost a star as I do think food could be slightly better. Potato skins weren’t very hot for example. But atmosphere was lovely and staff were great! One thing to note however the toilets weren’t clean at all and need some attention!
You are only allowed to book a table for 2 hours but in that time we could only fit 2 courses as service was not very quick. Maybe lack of staff? Food was nice but not amazing.
Are U kidding me? Asking for feedback when u werent even open after I made a reservation and drove all the way there!!! I made a table booking online at the stables on Thursday for 7pm that night. I got a booking confirmation message and proceeded to come all the way from South Shields l, expecting to have a lovely meal and a few drinks. When I arrived at the stables I found both entrances locked and had to turn back and go home. I had checked Facebook before I travelled and you did not post any messages to say you were not going to be open. I have to say I am deeply disappointed that I was able to make a booking and then did not receive any warning that you would not be open. Add to that, the time and petrol I spent travelling to and from your restaurant and you can imagine my frustration and annoyance. Can I ask why there was no indication that you would be closed on Thursday and why I was able to make the booking in the first place? Regards Alison Smith
We turned up to our table booking at 2:30 however you were closed. Had no email or phone call to tell us that you were closed. Found out when we arrived after all 6 of us had traveled from all over to meet for food and drinks.
Heaters need to be on especially at the moment. Service was good but if you ask for a hot beef sandwich it should be hot and is salad inside it necessary? What came was a beef club sandwich. Although perfectly tasty we had to ask for gravy.
As the weather wasn’t great but this did not spoil our time but maybe a few more canopies over tables would be good.
Chips and roast potatoes very greasy due to the oil not being hot enough.
Even though we were outside and the weather was cold and breezy we had a lovely get together and the food was great.
Great.service from all staff and food was delicious. Found order can out very quick and staff were very helpful
Lovley time staff and service were fab
Absolutely perfect in every way we had a lovely meal and drinks in the courtyard definitely would recommend you give it a try
I think you would benefit from covering the tables with parasols to provide cover in the event of bad weather. Luckily we were just finishing our food when it started to rain and hail but some families had just sat down with children to eat so it's not ideal in the rain! We had to ask for cutlery but it's understandable that the staff are getting used to a new way of working. Otherwise, friendly service and food was delicious. Would definitely return.
Lovely atmosphere in the court yard and very stylish. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Would definitely return.
Lovely food and good service as usual although I thought there would have been coverage for the entire outside space with heaters given that’s this is the only available socialising at present and not only the odd parasol.
Food was lovely , staff were shocking , unhelpful to say the least , it’s advertised as heated and covered yet was neither we were put on a table in the rain with a baby despite there being a covered table free they wouldn’t move us , lovely place lovely food let down by the staff
Excellent service. Will definitely return
Absolutely beautiful food and great service couldn't fault one bit we will definitely be back
Lovely food. We were there nearly 4 hours and only had 3 drinks as drinks service was slow. Food was lovely and great value for money but my friend ordered a starter as her meal and that came a while before our food did so it was cold by the time she ate it. We asked to move a few times as we noticed tables with heaters that were unoccupied but they had been pre booked. We did notice that one table was unoccupied the whole time we were there so we could have moved and been warmer. There were only 2 patio heaters on the whole courtyard so I would definitely wrap up warm next time. The ladies toilets had no toilet paper in any of the cubicles and NO hand soap or sanitizer at all! Overall we had a lovely afternoon and we would go back. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
Great food & veggie options Setting superb Service a bit slow when place busy
To expensive for What we had .most main courses nearly £16 , pint cider nearly £5, if price's were more sensible I would go more often
