About The Square
International Buffet Restaurant Located at the heart of Singapore Clarke Quay
I informed 1 of the service crews that the chilli crab is not fresh. To my surprise, the Chef Mr George John came to apologise & offered to cook something special for us. This is what I admired on service recovery. 👍🏻👍🏻 Thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻 to George & his team.
Good services and friendly waitress
Food is fresh & delicious Especially the salted egg yolk crab, alaska crab, laksa
Very good for group gathering
less selection food and some of the seafood are not fresh enough Especially the lobster， smell like bad food! will never go again and felt quite disappointed! A lot of desserts but nothing good, why not focus on the taste ? ? and kind of kidding that there are 2 vegetable ARE the MAIN HOT dishes......why not just change one of them to some other meet like beef ?dun tell me that is seafood day, we had been to many hotel buffet , and is much better than this time . they provide seadfood but also provide meat like duck and beef and sushi at the same price . will never go again .
The seafood could be fresher especially the lobster and scallops
Food & drink is delicious
Ambience is Ok if there is shade on the window as those facing the window is very glaring during lunch time. As for the food it was limited and not much variety. the Nonya kueh items are not authentic.
Dear Chris Thank you very much for dining with us and taking the time to share your experiences. I appreciate you sharing your concerns on your survey and again apologize for your dining experience not being 100%. I will continue to work with our team as they are empowered to handle most situations to minimize any inconvenience and hopefully correct the issue to the best of their ability. I will also work with our pastry team to make sure we are providing better consistent dining experience. I do recall your survey and since then we have made some progress on our food quality. I hope that we see you again in the near future knowing we have worked on our short comings. Best Regards Joana Yeo (Restaurant Manager)
Food wise is good. However, the dessert "gula melaka with sea coconut" was not satisfactory. There was no sea coconut in the dessert. It would be good if the staff can occasionally checked and replenished.

Would like to see sushi and more vegetarian friendly items. Thanks!
Good location and staff. Menu could be a bit better.
Good place for a satisfied lunch!
Staff who was at the counter was rude and unwelcoming. Cashier was also not customer centric. Felt like the worst 5 star hotel buffet.
Desserts were Good But food could have been better. Not much varieties to choose from.
Bad impression from the moment we reached. Reserved for 5 adults but your records showed 3 only. Might be due to this, placed us far from the buffet table. Requested for window seats since we are already so far and was told table was taken. So sat down and went ahead with taking food. Hostess came back and told us window seats are available. (I thought they were not???) But we have already settled down, not easy to do so with a baby and decided against the hassle. Another family joined us in this extension and asked for a high chair. Hostess noticed there isn't any clean high chairs and asked if customer has wet wipe to wipe existing dirty high chair (?!). Customer was so nice and agreed but I was stunned that this was even suggested. Maybe we were far from the maddening crowd but service was not as attentive. We had to ask for refills of water and when it was slow coming, we figured it would be faster to get hot water from the buffet line and let it cool to warm (mum can only drink warm water).
The service staffs are excellent especially the tall lady staff at the reception. She made sure we got a good seat and went extra mile to make sure we got the food replenished when it was empty. Choice of cooked foods are limited. Oysters are served with limited quantities. They are replaced with mussels after a few rounds of servings. Ice cream scoop are inconveniently placed making the scooping of ice cream awkward. Often dripping water from the wash bowl.
Mother's Day 2018 was the first time I visited The Square. I reserved via Chope but called in to ask about the buffet spread as I had a vegan diner in my party. They were very helpful. There was an email confirmation and the customer service team assured me that I was eligible for the Mother's Day promo. At the dinner, they were very polite and promptly cleared the used plates and attended to our requests. My Mother thoroughly enjoyed herself with the mass cake cutting and complimentary bouquet, which was not too shabby with three lovely roses. All in all a great experience. Will recommend and revisit. :-)
Not much variety of buffet spread. Expensive compared to many restaurants.
I used the eatigo 50% for 9pm dining and additional 10% as an Accorplus member. Total disc at 60% which is ard $34 per pax. Not worth if it is at $78++ per pax. Their table settings are neat and clean. But the deck beside our table is dusty. Customer service are all very nice and good. Food wise, the cold deck of seafoods is very disappointing. Osyters, crabs, mussels are all very small. And the mini lobster is really very mini like the length of my middle finger. Only the clay fish are nice and worth to eat. Chilli crabs are small and not worth eating. There desserts are also very normal with jellies and cakes. Tasted normal too. There is a chocolate fondue with some friits and mashmellow only. There is also ice cream and ice kacang kind of dessert. Ice cream is not even branded..... it looks like margolia or king’s tubs in the fridge. No macaroons, no sushi. Spread is very limited. Not worth to go. Novotel has to improve alot on it’s spread to keep ppl coming for more. Otherwise it will only be an one time experience for most diners. Will not visit anymore.
Service and ambiance is excellence
The crab claws should be cracked in the kitchen before serving. They are almost impossible to be cracked at the dining table, even with the crackers provided!
