About The Springer Spaniel
A delightfully rustic country pub which holds a hidden secret. An exquisite freshly prepared menu designed to tempt and delight anyone looking for a fine dining experience. Whether it’s an intimate meal for two or a family friendly evening meal there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The food was spectacular! Our waiter was perfect, attentive but not intrusive. We have wanted to visit this place for a long time and were not disappointed. We will be booking for another special occasion soon.
This was our second time dining here, very nice food with an imaginative menu. Great service and very reasonable prices. We will come again
lovely food, lovely service
Really fantastic, the service from both the Bar and Restaurant were first class. They say a smile and happiness goes a long way and that’s what we had. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, the Mother in Law was very impressed as was I. A big thank you to all the staff, we will certainly see you again.
Excellent overall and well looked after by polite and efficient staff. Simple meal only which was delicious and well cooked.
Looking forward to returning soon.
A Great place where you can enjoy a drink by the bar and then wine and a good meal in the restaurant
Friendly staff. A decent menu and interesting ales.
We thought that the taster meal seemed flavoursome but the portions were so small that it was difficult to really appreciate them. It might be useful to warn customers that there may be bones in the pigeon and although the wine we ordered was pleasant and turned out not too expensive we were not given a wine list so weren't aware of the price at the time of ordering and it is rude to ask the price when out with friends. We would consider visiting again but would choose from the a la carte menu and hope that we didn't have to buy a snack on the way home.
We enjoyed Sunday lunch, with four friends. At £22 for three courses, the menu was good value for the quality of the food and the standard of cooking. The beef was particularly good and we always enjoy the generous selection of vegetables with the roast, at the Springer. The service, by a young team, was friendly and efficient. Well done and thank you.
Good hamburger and friendly service. We were shown to the annexe which had no atmosphere and loud music. Changed to the bar area - much better.
Absolutely perfect. So kind to my daughter who has dairy and gluten intolerance. They prepared a special menu so she could eat alongside our tasting menu. Thank you so much
Fantastic welcome to a chaotic group of adults, kids and dogs. Nothing was a problem and food excellent
Our favourite place to eat. We always have an excellent meal there.
Thank you for a lovely birthday celebration on 12th Dec. The service was friendly and cheerful, the food delicious and you may be sure we shall be back much more often now we know you are our “local”!
The food is absolutely delicious and the staff were flexible about our choices. It was my second visit but definitely not myn last.
Four of us had three sets of Cornish Tapas..plenty of tasty things to eat
Lovely food and service, excellent value and easy booking online
Delicious delicious delicious!!! Well done to all the staff and thank you for making my Birthday meal special.
Absolutely delicious Sunday lunch, with a generous and varied array of vegetables.
It was a delightful Sunday lunch. Everything tasted good, the service was excellent and the bill was reasonable for the quality of the fare. The Springer Spaniel achieves what it sets out to do and we went away with a lovely sense of well-being. I write as a former owner of a guidebook-rated restaurant which my wife and I ran in Cornwall - albeit that was a very long time ago!
We loved the Mackerel & Beetroot starters but disliked the Stilton Moose (thank you for not charging us). We found the choice of mains somewhat limited (ox cheek with fish?) so ended up with the steak which (was nice but needed some veg other then onion rings) & sausage/mash which was lovely. We did have wine & drinks but £92 per couple is more than we have ever paid for a “normal” night. So whilst the atmosphere & service was fine, I doubt we would return.
We love this pub and always make a special point of stopping here on our way down further into Cornwall. The food is always excellent and the staff warm and friendly, accommodating both our child and spaniel (of course ;0)). Just wish we had a pub like this closer to home.
Great atmosphere. Staff are incredible. Can't wait for our next visit.
Best fish and chips in a very long time
