This experience was cancelled due to COVID-19.
I had booked a 'soup and sandwich' lunch deal along with access to the spa. The soup and sandwich were tasty and well presented. I topped up my deal with a cake and coffee and it was a really nice lunchtime experience. I have enjoyed this deal before and I have been happy to return.
Absolutely loved it and will return. Had the jacuzzi sauna and steam room to ourselves which was fabulous. Staff all lovely and lunch deal of soup and a sandwich was fantastic. Lovely time relaxing and great venue
Easy to get to, nice facilities.
Asked young blonde girl (hair in a long ponytail)l on HOTEL reception where restaurant was and she was really rude and unhelpful, just a horrible attitude. The waiter in restaurant was nice and pleasant, but service very slow and despite booking had no note of our booking. On a p!us note the staff in the gym/ pool were lovely really nice blonde lady on GYM reception complete opposite from the snooty one on main hotel, who was horrible!
The food was excellent but restaurant lacked atmosphere and felt a bit like sitting in a lobby.
Parking charge of £10 is a bit pricey when only visiting Spa for couple of hours
Only downfall was my partner asked for a tuna mayo sandwich but it wasn't made clear that it had red onion in it and he doesn't like red onion. May be worthwhile pointing that out to customers.
We were made to feel special. Josh your supervisor looked after us extremely well. Very well mannered with a sense of humour. Plenty tea and coffee and good selection of sandwiches and cakes and I have to say some of the nicest scones from a hotel.
Very good food.
Very well presented hotel. We have approached reception desk and had to wait for two staff to finish their conversations before being assisted. Restaurant well presented but glassware on table covered in lipstick and not washed properly. Server quite bluntly asked us what sandwich do you want tuna chicken or cheese? No written menu, no option for vegan, no idea what kind of chicken. To this point writing this, we don’t even know what the soup we were served was. We decided to have lunch before using the spa (it was a voucher from itison for soup/sandwhich and use of facilities) but server took our voucher and refused to give it back so I was a bit worried we would be questioned at the spa. Everything there was fine though, the person on the spa reception was very friendly and accepted our email booking confirmation. Over all very presentable hotel, facilities a bit basic and customer service not the best.
Had Itison voucher for spa day and food. The facilities were basic and fairly antiquated. (Having to safety pin the locker key to your swimsuit is ridiculous in the 21st century). The service at the meal took too long. We requested Appletiser, she came back saying they didn't have it so we then ordered Fevertree, she again came back saying they didn't have it so 3rd time lucky had to order a different drink. Food was okay but not amazing. Had to go and find staff to ask for condiments. Not a great experience and wouldn't recommend it (livingwell staff were great though)
Dining time was 1 pm and the Manager with at least 2 other staff were on hand. The place was empty with only another couple of guests in the restaurant so no excuse for service being slow. I had the corn fed chicken which was very small and rather crispy on outside. The vanilla ice cream was definitely not Mackies as was advertised in the menu. We had to get the attention of the staff on a few occasions as they did not come to check how things were. I ended up taking our desert plates up to the bar and asked for the coffee menu. When our bill arrived, they had charged us for a wine approx £12 that we did not get. I spoke to the Manager who apologised for their error and slow service. He said it was due to understaffing and inexperienced staff. He waived the extra £2.50 we were due for the coffees and gave me a complimentary prosecco.
We arrived 21:50 last table booking was 21:45 so we were refused access to restaurant! This was borderline disgraceful!!! We tried to order room service at 10:15, off the room service menu that finished at 11:00 but were told the info in our room and on hotel TV channel was wrong you only had 24 hour menu available and that was very very limited! We put out the breakfast in room menu at 23:00 for the next morning for a 05:00-05:30 tray time but it never arrived we had to leave for plane at 06:15 so we had no breakfast either! •Basically we did not have the opportunity to have dinner in restaurant because we were 5 minutes past last entry ( we were a hotel guest did that not mean anything?) •Room service times were all incorrect so that was very limited •Breakfast never arrived Very very disappointed that we had to order in food from an outside take away due to limited 24 menu being the only food available
Good service good food
The staff went above and beyond. One gentleman in particular went out of his way to meet a request - he managed to track down cloves when my father asked for a hot whiskey. He had alot of tables to cover and was also cleaning in between - we even commented at how hard working he was and had such a pleasant, welcoming attitude! After a very disappointing stay at a 5 star hotel in Edinburgh, our experience at the Doubletree was 10 star! From the ladies at the check-in desk to every staff member we saw in The Space both at dinner and breakfast, we were very impressed with the level of customer service.
Service was dreadful. After 40 minutes < I asked if they had forgotten us. Food then appeared and we ordered 4 cokes to go with it. After the meal , we gave up as cokes never arrived. We had importsnt German visitors and this service ruined it. The food was quite good !
Excellent, excellent & excellent. Loved it, will be back soon.
Hi ant d sunday lunch near hotel as son and 8 year old were flying back to Lake ndon.Room almost empty and a bit chilly. Plenty of staff. Ordered steak: told would be 25 mins but had to ask for starters to be served 50 mins after arriving , with a plane to catch. Food ok. Drinks pricey. £4 to park car - quite a nerve after spending £150 on lunch! Not going back.
Hotel was fine food was terrible like bad pub food but double the price. Pretty sure our was microwaved
Great setting very comfortable, service and food was very good quality. Great for a meal before heading to the airport.
Pratique de part sa localisation proche de l’aeroport mais probablement notre plus mauvais restaurant en trois semaines d’Ecosse. Grosse préférence pour celui du centre de Glasgow.
Just one quibble. I changed our reservation on resdiary from 1930 to 2000 a couple of hours before we arrived, and had the change confirmed, but staff were unable to find our reservation on arrival, which was a bit embarrassing. Fortunately, we were accommodated anyway.
