About The Six Bells
Situated in St. Michael's Village near Verulamium Park, The Six Bells is the epitome of English charm and heritage. Real ales and pub fare done right.
The pub boasts wood beams, a roaring fire, and loads of character.
Very slow service. Staff seemed surprised that they were busy at lunchtime on a Saturday. Despite lots of bookings.
The best fish and chips! Great atmosphere and service. A decent, historical pub, full of character and ambience, in a beautiful part of the city. Long may it continue to serve the St Albans community.
In spite of being a busy Sunday lunch it was a great experience. The staff were especially attentive. Food arrived promptly. Will definitely come back.
Fantastic pub. Great food and drink and lovely staff. Highly recommended
Busy pub, wouldn’t recommend attempting to eat here without a reservation. Staff were busy but very pleasant and helpful. I will definitely be visiting again! The roast were amazing and great value for money.
Friendly welcome but very busy so service initially was a little slow (staff working hard). This definitely picked up. Food very tasty but chips undercooked. Enjoyed it but previous visits have been a little calmer
Thank you for a lovely afternoon and new
Great food and service
The Ruby ale (from 3 Brewers) was outstanding, as was the homemade pie. I live in Shenley but will certainly return.
Great pub and great service. Even remembered our drink choices from a month ago!
If you are a local then you’ll already know how good Six Bells is, if not it’s a great cozy pub that’s always busy and serves very good quality, well priced food. My favourite pub in St Albans and i’ve lived here all my life 👌
never lets you down
We have eaten here a few times and enjoyed our meal. There are always a number of specials and a different curry/pie of the day available. Would recommend booking as always busy.
great food and service
Food was extremely over priced for what we had,,large prawn cocktail was just extra leaves no more prawns, which were tasteless & £9:95 outrageous Chilli was very small portion at £11:95 Sea Bass ok but presentation not very good Was so disappointing as my husbands birthday & we had taken friends Haven’t been since last summer , are you under new management/ new cook , couldn’t say chef 👎 Beer was good though
An excellent experience. Very nice food and an excellent pint of JHB. Service was quick and friendly. The pub had a lovely cosy atmosphere.
Wonderful atmosphere, food and service.
We had a lovely meal with friends. Only problem was the delicious home made pie had all gone. Next time! Fabulous that you can bring your dog.
It’s a proper pub with food & service to match, I have never had a bad experience here. Also love the pizzas on Thursday!!
Lovely atmosphere, excellent service good varied menu, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, we will definitely return.
Excellent pub food, great atmosphere - would highly recommend
We were given a lovely table by the fire place and we were really looked after very well by our waitress despite it being a very busy New Years Eve afternoon!!
Great food and super service!!!
Could not have asked for more had a great time . It has all the things right that make a traditional pub great Well done to the Staff of the Six Bells
