About The Silver Darling
Welcome to The Silver Darling…
Situated in the former Customs House at the mouth of Aberdeen Harbour, The Silver Darling has recently embarked on a new voyage.
Renovated to the highest of standards, The Silver Darling has been transformed with stylish interiors that celebrate our unique heritage and complement our stunning setting for memorable meals.
The Silver Darling has an upstairs dining area which boasts floor to ceiling glass windows, providing panoramic views of Aberdeen’s beach, harbour and the historic fishing village of Footdee – affectionately known as ‘Fittie’ by the locals.
With a passion for quality food and drink, our menus have been carefully curated to showcase the finest selection of Scottish produce from Aberdeen Angus Beef to the freshest fish and shellfish dishes, in a laid-back yet sophisticated atmosphere.
The Silver Darling is the perfect setting to gaze at the sweeping sea coastline, watch the ships sail by, or in the summer months you may be lucky to catch a glimpse of the dolphins and seals bobbing in the bay…
Excellent restaurant and wonderful location.
We can't speak highly enough of our experience at the Silver Darling. One of the best dinners we've had the pleasure of eating in quite some time. The service and atmosphere were superb and the food was absoloutely exceptional. We enjoyed some specials and the platter with the lobster. We cannot wait to return to Aberdeen just to eat there again.
A bit disappointed that no reference was made to the fact that the dinner was for our Silver Wedding anniversary, despite mentioning it on the online booking.
Exceptional Staff/Food/Service and of course the view!
We have been driving around Scotland for three weeks and have stopped for dinner in several fine establishments but this dinner at the Silver Darling was by far the best!!
Lovely food and atmosphere great service. Great evening. Look forward to coming back.
Excellent meal & service provided.
The service was excellent and the food was excellent
The young boy that greeted us was arite and doing a good job. Ordering wine was a chore!!
The staff and food were flawless
Lovely food, great view and good service!
Nice food and setting with great service.
Excellent ambience, excellent service and excellent food. Top quality all round.
Wonderful though I wished I d known we needed to request a table by the window. Food and service wonderful.
All very good if a little over priced.
Great food and service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Visited on our anniversary again, and have visited a number of times over the year since our last. Cullen skink although good, has recently been almost puréd´, and we both had lobster, which for the price you would think they'd use fresh, but the meat from both was mushy, indicating either frozen or 'aged' animals were used, which has put us both off returning. When spending over £100 on 2 courses for 2 without alcohol, it just doesn't seem worth it. The last couple of times we had lobster it was nice and firm, so if they had supply issues they shouldn't have had it as the market catch of the day.
Probably the best meal we’ve had since visiting Aberdeenshire! Generally meals have been the same old stuff, prepared in an average manner. We are from the south east of England and many of the gritty restaurants would not survive. Silver Darling was a breath of fresh air! Glorious views, reasonable prices and superb presentation of the freshest seafoods.
Fantastic dining experience
Got food poisoning after visit. Had put in reservation request it was a birthday so would have been nice to have had something personal
Excellent food and service made for a very enjoyable evening.
Having booked online I phoned to make sure that I could get the table up at the back beside the window as my 2 grandchildren were coming along for lunch. When we arrived I said to the girl twice that I had booked the table up at the back next to the window so the children could watch the boats coming and going from the harbour. Your girl that works on your reception didn’t even acknowledge that I spoke to her twice and totally dismissed me. I found her very rude and not welcoming at all. My husband and myself were in the week before and she wasn’t very welcoming then, but thought she was maybe having an off day. Now I know she wasn’t. The waiters were very very nice and polite and the food was outstanding. But if the mannerisms that welcome you continue I’m sure you won’t get much repeat custom.
Excellent service and food quality
Perfect for a special meal
