About The Silver Darling
Welcome to The Silver Darling…
Situated in the former Customs House at the mouth of Aberdeen Harbour, The Silver Darling has recently embarked on a new voyage.
Renovated to the highest of standards, The Silver Darling has been transformed with stylish interiors that celebrate our unique heritage and complement our stunning setting for memorable meals.
The Silver Darling has an upstairs dining area which boasts floor to ceiling glass windows, providing panoramic views of Aberdeen’s beach, harbour and the historic fishing village of Footdee – affectionately known as ‘Fittie’ by the locals.
With a passion for quality food and drink, our menus have been carefully curated to showcase the finest selection of Scottish produce from Aberdeen Angus Beef to the freshest fish and shellfish dishes, in a laid-back yet sophisticated atmosphere.
The Silver Darling is the perfect setting to gaze at the sweeping sea coastline, watch the ships sail by, or in the summer months you may be lucky to catch a glimpse of the dolphins and seals bobbing in the bay…
My starter was mussels and I was disappointed in this dish, very small pale mussels that looked more like supermarket mussels rather than freshly caught ones. There was not much imagination put into this dish.also a measly amount of mussels. There was no butter served with my homemade bread, and no side plate for my bread. The bread had to be either balanced on the mussel plate or On the table ( not good). The wine was expensive but good. The venue for this restaurant is ideal, we went on a moonlit evening and could watch the boats coming in and out of the harbour. It was very quiet in the restaurant the night we went and the staff were friendly. I was disappointed that some of the items on the menu were not available and it is also a very small menu. The main meal was nicely presented and tasted fresh. I had halibut with a Parmesan mash topping. The chocolate brownie was the best I have ever tried. The staff accepted a group of people after 8pm so I guess the restaurant doesn’t stop serving at 8 like it says on their web page.
Unbelievable service and fantastic food! Anyone who confirms here will be truly blown away-we will be back time and time again now for sure!
Lovely meal , will definitely come again 😀
Beautiful view and good service. Wish there was more variey on the menu
Went with my son (age 5) and father for dinner on a Sunday evening. Nothing to fault, everything to praise! Can’t wait to come back!
Although the food was presented lovely, and tasted very good, the meal wasn't that hot, I thought it was slightly expensive for what you actually got, but I did no the prices of the meals beforehand, so this is not a negative.Thought £4.50 for a bottle of water was a bit extreme
Having been a patron of the "old" Silver Darling, I was slightly disappointed that the restaurant has moved away from fine dining to high-end bistro type food. That said, the food was good, as was the service, and the place has been done up very nicely. I will definitely be back, albeit with slightly different expectations.
Excellent food, service and views!
Sataff very friendly and food was very good
An overall excellent dining experience, we will be back!
Very nice restaurant with delishous food. The Silver Darling platter was a good sharing starter. The halibut with risotto was.colked to perfection and the warm brownie was a good choice for dessert. The evening was Perfect!
Was a lovely meal, we extremely enjoyed it. The food came out in good time and it treated very well by the staff. Would definitely visit again.
We thoroughly enjoyed a very special meal for my Dad’s 60th birthday. The staff were very attentive and ensured we had an excellent evening. They were very helpful by describing the menu, helping with the cake and advising on our transport and options for going to a partnered bar. The food was exceptional. We all particularly enjoyed the silver darling platter to start which allowed us to sample a variety of seafood – I especially enjoyed the oysters! Each main course was very flavoursome and the Thai green seafood curry special was particularly delicious. We had enough room for tasty desserts before celebrating with the cake. There was a very good variety of gins and wine which were replenished frequently - exactly what you want for a 60th birthday celebration. Our waitress was very attentive. I didn’t catch her name but the receipt states Dany was our server. Thank you again so much for such a wonderful meal. We’ve been talking about our evening non-stop since and will be sure to return in the future.
Our server was very pleasant and the food was excellent. Beautiful views in the sunshine over the mouth of the Dee. Glad we took the recommendation from a family member and fitted lunch into our crazy schedule.
Lovely food and good service.
A real treat. Can’t wait to visit again. Thank you
Lovely meal in lovely surroundings and very pleasant and attentive service makes this one of my favourite restaurants to visit.
We had such a lovely lunch. The service was warm, the meal cooked perfectly and the cadre inviting. We will certainly be back.
The food wasn't outstanding - not bad, just nothing special to rush back for. The atmosphere is lovely, and our server had such a friendly, happy demeanour she made up for anything lacking.
Very lack luster service. Wonderful location and views.
First visit since the new owners took over, not disappointed. Excellent
very poor service and the customers are ignored
One of my favourite restaurants in Aberdeen! Delicious food, great service, cosy atmosphere. Must be for see food lovers!
I cannot believe this was my first visit. Just loved everything
A wonderful celebration meal in relaxed, comfortable surroundings
