About The Silver Darling
Welcome to The Silver Darling…
Situated in the former Customs House at the mouth of Aberdeen Harbour, The Silver Darling has recently embarked on a new voyage.
Renovated to the highest of standards, The Silver Darling has been transformed with stylish interiors that celebrate our unique heritage and complement our stunning setting for memorable meals.
The Silver Darling has an upstairs dining area which boasts floor to ceiling glass windows, providing panoramic views of Aberdeen’s beach, harbour and the historic fishing village of Footdee – affectionately known as ‘Fittie’ by the locals.
With a passion for quality food and drink, our menus have been carefully curated to showcase the finest selection of Scottish produce from Aberdeen Angus Beef to the freshest fish and shellfish dishes, in a laid-back yet sophisticated atmosphere.
The Silver Darling is the perfect setting to gaze at the sweeping sea coastline, watch the ships sail by, or in the summer months you may be lucky to catch a glimpse of the dolphins and seals bobbing in the bay…
Amazing venue with superb food and extremely helpful staff!
Hi, We love your restaurant and have been many times ourselves and with family members. Its definitely our favourite in Aberdeen. Food is always quality and cooked very well. Staff very friendly and nice. We have a 3 yo son and they always make a special effort for him. Last night the young waiter took over some binoculars for us to look at dolphins which he had noticed us looking at. We hope that your business can cope with the current situation and wish you all the best.
Staff were very helpful in advising me on my choice. Food sublime!
Excellent food and very good service Restaurant was a little quiet and lacking in some atmosphere, but that could have been due to the time of day or the current situation regarding social gatherings
Nice restaurant, good food and atmosphere with some nice views
We enjoyed a lovely meal to celebrate our mother and father's 30th wedding anniversary. The food was excellent and the service was good. We were grateful to have been sat at a table near the front of the restaurant where we managed to enjoy the panoramic harbour views before the sun set.
Excellent all round experience. Your staff deserve lots of credit.
My partner and I hadn’t been to the silver darling since it changed its ownership and were not sure what it would be like. I have to say the food and service were second to none, it was a little chilly but it didn’t spoil our fantastic meal, loved it and we will be back.
The quality of food was excellent as was the staff
I ordered a bottle of Riesling thinking it would be dry and not sweet. Unfortunately, it was not to my taste - nothing wrong with the wine - but the staff replaced it and did not make a fuss about it which I appreciated. I would definitely make a point of returning here. Great place for fabulous food.
Fantastic seafood, steaks, very good service, excellent location. Highly recommended.
Outstanding food, comfortablely the best I’ve experienced in Aberdeen
Not a lot of attention from serving staff. Only asked once if everything was ok. Desert (panacota)had little to no flavour. No offer of digestive drinks which we wanted and couldn’t catch a servers eye to order. We could not get the bill either and ended up having to go to the bar to pay. Not what I expect...
Having gone to this restaurant for many years I came away disappointed, it has lost its uniqueness and now feels like a bistro type place you can find anywhere not warm and welcoming. We were seated in an area that felt like it should be where you wait until seated at the table. Oysters were lovely and the coconut ice cream amazing. The monkfish main was actually bland, not even a wedge of lemon on the plate. Overall not bad but definitely not special, bit disappointing for a birthday treat😒. Just want to say our waitress was great!!
Superb meal with very friendly and efficient service. We try to go here every trip to Aberdeen as it is just so special. Kitchen and front of house staff work seamlessly to make sure the meals are served promptly, hot, fresh and beautifully cooked.
Beautiful location overlooking the sea and harbour inlet. Perfectly cooked fish dishes washed down with a chilled white wine. We were able to park nearby which was ideal for a leisurely walk with our dog
Hi there, We really enjoyed our first visit. Our only wee complaint would be that the mussels on Sunday were tiny! Really small compared to what you get elsewhere. Which was unusual for a fish restaurant. But the main meals were lovely!
Service was not great!
It was our first time, it was lovely but the Monkfish scampi was a bit chewy and on dry side but tasted fine. Restaurant became cool when windows were opened and it was only 5 degrees outside.
Hello. The room was quite cold. It felt like you'd switched on the heating only minutes before our arrival. Perhaps at this time of year you could switch it on a couple of hours before the booking time. Apart from that we had an excellent evening. Food, staff and service were all very good.
This was our first visit but we will definitely be back.
It was a lovely meal and great food, wine and service. Thank you.
Could do with some nicer lighting on the tables and better background music
Lovely meal for a first visit. Will be returning! Great drinks selection, food to die for and great service.
Fabulous meal with great attentive service
