About The Shrewsbury Arms
The Shrewsbury Arms was purchased by Kingstone community society in 2019.
The pub has been bought back to life by the hard work and commitment of the volunteer's and is now back at the heart of the community.
Today you will find a warm welcome, local ales and a seasonal menu of home cooked food catering to a wide range of tastes and dietary requirements.
Muddy boots and dogs are more than welcome in our cosy bar area. To book a table with your furry friend please call us on 01889 500181 and speak to one of our friendly team.
We love the Shrew..............great staff, easy booking system, fantastic food and we will be booking again as soon as lock down finishes! In the meanwhile we will be using the take away service.
Nice atmosphere. Had to wait a little while for our table but due to Covid-19 restrictions that was understandable. Partner had the pie, said it was nice but to make it perfect wild mushrooms would have been better than button. Otherwise cant fault it.
Another enjoyable meal, last one before lockdown. Once again a great evening despite the current restrictions.
Lovely Meal as always
Great staff serving great food in a great country pub!
Excellent, lovely food, attentive and friendly staff, such a shame they’ll have to close down again as very safe operation
This was the second time we’d visited following excellent comments from family and friends. I can’t rate it high enough to be honest. Food is great. Good ingredients, well prepared and cooked and plenty of it. Service - can’t fault. Friendly and very helpful. Our group had to be split over 2 tables because of Tier 2 restrictions. Our change was accommodated and the banter made the evening as good as it would have been if we’d been on one table. This is our new fave place to eat out. See you after lock down!
Excellent meal, great food, good choice we will be back
We had a great time and the food was lovely. First time out in 7 months and felt very comfortable and well cared for.
The only thing I don’t think is good value is the cost of the steak. We all veered away from choosing the steak as it was so expensive especially if you add a sauce.
Nice food and lovely service.
Two of us had 3 course Sunday lunch this week, service was great, both the Sirloin of Beef and roast lamb were excellent, choice of drinks was good and Uttoxeter Breweries Bartley Bitter was an excellent choice. Tables were well spaced out adhering to social distancing, atmosphere was good.
Beautiful excellent meal and service Always looked after by Kate Emma and the gang xx
Lovely meal, fantastic service.
Very lovely atmosphere, food, and service we will be back. Thank you
We had the signature chicken dish which was lovely, highly recommend. Felt safe too. Will be returning with family members
Lovely food, great service
great as usual
Excellent - will be returning very soon
very good as usual looking forward to visiting again soon.
Very enjoyable evening. Didn’t feel rushed.
The welcome was warm and friendly and the 2 members of staff who dealt with us initially were lovely even going as far as suggesting we move to the bar area as the restaurant had a bit of a noisy group of people in. Our main course of lamb was absolutely delicious. The balance of the ingredients, seasoning and portion size were spot on. For dessert my partner had the bread and butter pudding which he really enjoyed, and I had the millionaires chocolate tart which I didn't particularly like mainly because of the cardboard-like pastry which I left. When a 3rd member of staff came to collect the plates and asked if we'd enjoyed the desserts I was honest and told her about the pastry. She told me the dessert was home made but when I queried the pastry she said it was ready made. She didn't seem much bothered that I hadn't enjoyed it and as she was walking away just said.....well they don't have time to make the pastry as well'! Not very good customer service and such a shame as it was a birthday celebration and it soured the experience somewhat.
Lovely place and lovely food
Great pub, great food, great service
