About The Shore Restaurant
A seafood focused restaurant in Penzance. The daily set menu is created using the best local produce available on the day by Chef and owner Bruce Rennie who works alone in the kitchen.
Absolutely loved it despite the best efforts of Covid-19. The food was sublime with some real taste surprises (all good ones!) and the wine pairings were excellent. The mantra is to serve the best local produce available and that came through loud and clear. Excellent!!

Lovely meal yet again best fish/seafood restaurant this side of the Tamar so tasty & fresh. We are so lucky to have this restaurant in Penzance

Absolutely loved our dining experience at The Shore - mainly because it WAS just that: an experience. The food was fantastic, but what really made it so wonderful was the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the personal touch given by the lively introductions from Bruce to each dish. We enjoyed this so much and will 100% be back in the future.

Imagine you had a friend who was one of the finest seafood chefs and they invited you into their home to taste their favourite dishes. That’s what it felt like visiting The Shore. The food was fresh off the boat that morning, exceptional quality and cooked with so much passion - it was also very unique and influenced by the flavours and styles Bruce has discovered throughout his career. You could just tell how much Bruce loves cooking and sharing this with people. Even the COVID limitations didn’t dampen the experience - if anything, they made it feel even more personal. So pleased we got to meet Bruce and experience the food at The Shore - would highly recommend for anyone who loves to enjoy food (particularly seafood).

The best fish I have ever had. Absolutely outstanding. Wanted to go back the next night but there was no space.
Thanks for a very enjoyable evening. A nearly 2 1/2 hours dinner felt much shorter, with outstanding food, wine and great service, led by Bruce himself. It all made for an interesting, memorable meal. We'll be back!
Great food and a special experience with the chef explaining the background to every course
I hesitate to leave a great review as we may not be able to get in next time! Only 12 covers. Bruce’s food is fantastic and how he has escaped a Michelin star I don’t know. We dined last night and it was perfect from start to finish. Go if you can.

A great evening - love the introduction to each course by Bruce which makes for an interesting "Supper Club" atmosphere. Food exciting, innovative and tasty as usual! Hard to choose one dish to comment on but the Bonito in the appetiser was awesome!

It was a very special evening. Personal interaction with Bruce and our waitress made us feel comfortable and at home. The food was prepared and presented with care and no pretensions. Simple local ingredients were elevated and celebrated.
Despite having to comply with the Covid restrictions this was one of the best dining experiences we have had for a very long time! Fabulous inventive food and outstanding service- we thoroughly recommend and will be back.

Our second meal here, and we will be back again next year definitely, because the food produced by this brilliant chef is sublime. A fabulous menu, wonderful fresh ingredients, and all introduced personally, as Bruce said ‘it’s as if you are all guests at my dinner party’. Exceptional food and if you are reading this you must book!
Outstanding food. Personally, I would preferred water with the monkfish course, and a lower wine bill.
