The Shore Restaurant offers a small seafood menu crafted using the best ingredients available on a daily basis. It's a Modern British neighbourhood restaurant, specialising in local, day boat fish.
Bruce (the chef) has captained the kitchens for some of the top chefs in the country, including Michelin starred Restaurant Martin Wishart in Edinburgh, Michelin starred Shanks in Northen Ireland, Gary Rhodes and Rick Stein. This experience has given Bruce the tools, knowledge and passion to create dishes to please you.

The attention paid to cooking each piece of fish perfectly (cooked, but only just) really showed. Fabulous.

Absolutely the best restaurant to visit. Food is fabulous every time and the atmosphere is great, The Shore is a winner for us every time!

Interesting and well-considered set menus. Decent value too; I do think that the plaice needs to be changed as it was quite dull and bland compared to everything else. The char siu squid was the stand out.

This proved a very pleasant evening. We selected from the a la carte menu and were certainly not disappointed. The main dishes were conceived with imagination, carefully prepared and presented and a joy to both the eye and the taste buds. Top marks.
Excellent choice of dishes and wines to match. The presentation was top notch and the flavours and textures in each dish well balanced. The little fish cake with the bread was a nice touch.
We really appreciated Bruce and the waitress ( sorry I can't remember your name) fitting 2 very small children into our celebratory dinner, and cooking the 20 month old some delicious fish and vegetables.
Another fantastic 7 course meal. This was my daughters first visit and she loved the flavour combinations. She was really impressed that all the fish courses were delicious but so too were the desserts. All 10/10. Thank you!

Bruce Rennie is a true expert in his field and the complete dining experience is of a very high standard. Everything is underpinned by the food, from the base ingredients to what he does with them. Flavours really excite the palate and the presentation is equal to the very best of that which the country has to offer (yes, the country, he really is that good). Amazing dining experience and certainly the best fish I’ve ever had (and my dad’s a fisherman). All three courses were thoughtfully and creatively prepared — and absolutely delicious. Service was impeccable (I cannot imagine the level of preparation involved) and the ambiance was lovely (relaxing music and peaceful decor). I hope to visit again next time I’m in Penzance. Thanks!
A beautiful meal from a master-craftsman Wonderful fish, beautifully cooked and presented in an elegant but relaxing space. We chose one of the set menus, with a series of imaginative and contrasting dishes which offered excellent value. We eat out quite a bit, in London and Cornwall, and what Bruce produces is extraordinarily good. Please don’t miss out!
Wonderfully fresh, locally sourced ingredients, beautifully presented - Bruce varies the menu depending on what fish have been landed, and comes up with amazing combinations of flavours and textures which never fails to satisfy!
