About The Ship Hotel
All our food is prepared to order using only the freshest and natural ingredients, sourced locally from farmers, fishermen and traders. By using seasonal ingredients not even we know what will be on our menu from week to week so please be aware there are sometimes changes to the menus.
Booked last minute, no problems with obtaining a table. On arrival, lovely greeting, staff really friendly. Service really great too. Trying to choose from the menu was a challenge as so much there that sounded appealing, in the end had the risotto which was out of his world!!!
good all rounder...and made a concerted effort to accommodate our gluten free/dairy free diner too!
Great meal, all starters/mains/desserts very good quality, nice atmosphere. friendly staff.
Scott and his team are a true true asset and The Ship would not be the same without them. They were so accommodating and did all they could for me to have the best 40th EVER thank you!!!
First of many visits to The Ship, when in Norfolk. 100% service and food across the board.Absolutely "Perfect" Thank you William&Christine Clooney
As always staff lovely food great and good atmosphere. Really very very good
Warm and friendly atmosphere, only our second visit but felt like valued customers on both occasions. Finest quality food and drink and excellent service. Dining out here is a real treat, would not hesitate to recommend.
Had my birthday party at The Ship with over 20 guests. Scott and team were fabulous and coordinating everything and making us feel welcome. Super organised with ensuring we had everything we needed, even a last minute request for a birthday cake was fulfilled easily. I cannot thank the team enough for making my birthday celebration the best. We will definitely be going back to The Ship again.
Excellent food and service, highly recommend the mussels for a starter. Great value for money too!!. Will definitely be visiting again.
We received a warm welcome by the manager and staff on arrival. Beautifully decorated and comfortable bedroom with good facilities. Good atmosphere in the bar and dinning area for evening meal with a good selection of local sourced food, well cooked and presented.
The reason for our visit to the Ship was to celebrate forty years of marriage so was an important occasion, without going into a long preamble which might prove boring, suffice to say that the vist to the Ship enhanced the day,the Staff the Food and the Ship were exceptional. We will be back. Thank you all. Alan & Barbara ROWELL.
My wife and I decided to stay at The Ship for a 2 night stay for our wedding aniversary...we had a fantastic time, the room was clean and comfortable the food was lovely, the staff were brilliant and nothing was to much trouble for them! They made us feel very welcome and I'm sure we will return again very soon! Thank you!
Lovely Sunday roast - but next time I'll ask for my gravy in a separate jug please
Just returned from a fabulous weekend at The Ship. Everything was great - comfy bed, fab beers and the food was superb, especially the oysters and the fish & chips!
Atmosphere and Service excellent. Being New Years Eve and the numbers involved, the main course was probably a little over ambitious, and could have been warmer. This did not detract from an excellent evening, the staff were fantastic.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, it was well worth the long journey (we live 2 hours away). The service was unhurried and we all had a lovely dining experience.
Had a thoroughly excellent evening. The food, atmosphere and service from the whole team could not be faulted. Certainly will be giving very serious consideration to returning next year.
Staff were very friendly but felt the portions were far to large and need to be more refined. Especially for the prices charged.
A lot of confusion caused due to the automated booking system they use. A couple of times we thought our booking had been cancelled. But generally very good and staff pleasant. A bit expensive. But would go again.
We had an excellent light lunch on Saturday - (chilli, garlic & tomato soup and mushrooms in a cream sauce) however was let down with the bar, we asked for Guiness and it wasn't until the next round that we were told that the Ship doesn't have it despite being served a stout in the branded glass (Guiness will have something to say about that....) Sadly the dinner on Sunday was poor. Roast beef - meat was fatty and chewy, Yorkshire puddings burnt and gravy was over reduced and too rich. We gave feedback to the chef when asked but annoyingly no response. We paid, but £70 for 2 mains and 1 child's meal which we thought was excessive considering the standard. Drinks were very expensive.
An excellent experience. Friendly greeting on arrival and very attentive service throughout our meal. Food excellent and a marvellous celebration of Christmas Boxing Day. The usual impeccable standards from Flying Kiwi Inns. Thank you again !
Excellent time Tk u
We chose to have Xmas dinner at the Ship for the third consecutive year and we were not disappointed. The quality of the food was superb, the atmosphere was buzzing but not noisy and the service superb, efficient but not obtrusive, your team are a credit to you Scott. Thanks for a very enjoyable Xmas dinner. Regards. les and Linda.
Lovely food, great atmosphere and we were well looked after.
We booked a Christmas party meal. Staff were extremely helpful and very friendly, both when booking and on the night. Food was delicious, well presented, and the portions were enormous! Nothing was too much trouble. Really couldn't find any fault - one of the best nights we have had!
