Fabulous lunch with great service as usual
Evening dinner tasted and looked great with attention to detail. Service and atmosphere was relaxed and thoroughly pleasant. Veggie breakfast was quite over-salted but everything else was good.
Delicious cooked breakfast, both Vegetarian and Traditional - amazing bacon! Good value for money.
Lovely venue, great service but I felt the portion size of the main was quite small.
First time at The Set and we loved it. Great vibe at the restaurant, delicious and interesting food and the team looked after us really well. Thank you
Nice food, wine was over priced for what we had. A pretty standard Valpolicella for nearly £40 was a bit ott.
An amazing find: incredible wines, attentive and yet relaxed and friendly services, amazing flavours. Loved every minute of our evening!
Better seating next time :)
A really great set up, cocktails were fabulous and food was sumptuous
Thanks to the Sneaky Panda for a lovely evening! Great ambiance, charming service, and, of course, amazing and inventive drinks! Living in Brighton, we’ll make this a weekly treat to try out the changing menu. Highly recommend!
Delicious breakfast in a relaxing, good vibe setting
The venue is lovely and rustic. The staff were very friendly. A couple of small improvements, the coffee was warm and our breakfast did take a long time to come. To be fair it wasn't a problem as we were not in a rush but I thought it worth noting.
We booked a table for 10.30, we were running 5 minutes late however on arrival our table wasn't quite ready because it hadn't yet been cleared, this wasn't a problem however it did set the tone for some pretty slow service. We ordered promptly however the food didn't arrive until approximately 11.30am. This is an extraordinarily lengthy wait when dinning with young children. The order was for 2 English breakfasts and an order of pancakes which incidentally came out burnt and needed to be sent back. The food was tasty however I wouldn't rush back because of the slow service. We overheard another customer being told that there would be a significant delay for a cup of tea!
I really missed the old Set menus.
Interesting food, delicious wine and a great atmosphere. We had a fabulous night celebrating a birthday.
always great. It seems not too many people have clocked onto The Set breakfast... one of, if not my favourite in brighton alongside moksha.
I’m afraid I was disappointed having been a fan of the restaurant for a few years. I suggested to friends of the back of a number of previous visits that it was a great place to eat. I thought the quality of the food with the set menus was much better before the menus changed. The flavour combinations were better and it was better value for money. The flavour combinations especially with the Pork dish was odd 3 of my friends also had the rhubarb Eclair which the said was far to sugary the flavour of the rhubarb didn’t come through at all . I am sorry to say I would not now recommend to others :(
Excellent service, food was outstanding would highly recommend.
Great location and some excellent dishes on the menu when we visited.
Amazing breakfast as always, love the unusual and imaginative menu!
The Set has been my favourite restaurant for 6 years, I have adored every meal I had eaten there in the previous 6 years but the last two meals (breakfast 3 months ago) and last Saturday nights meal were so disappointing. The place feels like a run of the mill eaterie, tables crammed in, hotel dining room atmosphere, very average experience, brusque and uninterested waiting staff. It has lost that special feel. Our dishes were mediocre - my pork main course was a total mess of flavours and the three eclairs we ordered for pudding were all stale and overly sweet. We brought new friends here for dinner to introduce them to our favourite restaurant but we found an interloper in the place of our favourite restaurant. What a terrible shame
Fantastic lunch in Brighton- highly recommended
Excellent service and a lovely quirky little place. The food was great although compared to others price wise maybe slightly over priced but even with this in mind I would go back for another meal in a heartbeat
Great food and good value
