Excellent food and service
Maybe I didn't select well but I wasn't impressed with the food. Soup was too creamy for me and not enough quantity. My partner wasn't overly impressed either
Service very good and food delicious. View is stunning.
I was there with a group of friends last Thursday. We were well looked after by the staff on the night and had a lovely meal. There was plenty to choose from on the seasonal imaginative menu. I will definitely recommend the restaurant and will certainly be back soon!
Such a lovely afternoon... atmosphere, food and service all excellent. The music was wonderful. Recommend highly! We will definitely be back!
We had Afternoon Tea at the Seaview for my daughter's Baby Shower. I choose it because a friend had brought me about a year ago and I loved it. It was such a lovely afternoon. The views are stunning and the setting exquisite. There was lovely Piano music in the background and the atmosphere was calm and relaxed and everyone could easily chat to each other. The service was excellent, the staff are very polite and professional. The food was out of this world. It not only tasted divine , the presentation was delightful. There was a wide selection of Teas and coffees to choose from and refills if desired. A perfect way to while away a weekend afternoon.
Food and service we very good. They did bring the wrong starter atmosphere and drinks were excellent
Really lovely way to spend an afternoon with good friends.
Lighting inside too bright and spolied view outside.
We had a wonderful meal in quite a relaxed atmosphere. The waiter's service was first class and he was very helpful.
Wonderful hotel and location. Had a great stay.
The food was very different and delicious and the service of the Seaview staff was first class. Thank You.
Excellent ambiance, attentive staff and a very knowledgeable manager. Compliments to the chief
We had an absolutely amazing time at the Seaview Restaurant. Everything was perfect, it was my partners birthday so I had arranged prior for a few surprises which were implemented brilliantly. the food was top class and the view was lovely and made the experience even better. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff; they were all polite and friendly.
I was disappointed that despite booking a window seat several weeks ago we were not initially allocated one until I requested & then it was only a partial Seaview. I am a regular visitor to the hotel & had brought 3 friends having told them how good it is. The standard of food was excellent as ever however I felt that the service fell short of your usual standards, I had to ask for fresh tea top ups which I would not expected to have to do.
Booked a spa treatment and afternoon tea, girls in the spa were lovely and my massage was fabulous, food presented for afternoon tea was excellent, staff professional and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Views from the restaurant were beautiful,
Very nice setting, very relaxing; view was superb. Very friendly staff. I thought the second tier of the afternoon tea platter was a bit plain, but the rest was very tasty. A second pot of tea would have been nice but, to be fair, I didn’t ask for one. You will need it though. A bit pricy, but I guess that’s par for the course for afternoon tea.
Beautiful room with a view. Afternoon tea was tasty and my pregnancy dietary requirements were taken into account by the attentive staff. Looking forward to going back again when I can eat everything on the menu!
The menu was restricted for a la carte dining but the quality of the food was excellent. The hotel seems to us this area to act as a restaurant when the 1780 isn’t open, it’s more of an area to sit and relax with a drink or coffee than a restaurant. Service was very slow on the night we were there, only two serving staff looking after all the diners. My husband waited 20 minutes for a glass of wine only to be told they didn’t have the one he selected.
Totally enjoy our afternoon tea.
Nice view to the sea
I had won a competition on Facebook for 6 small plates & 2 cocktails in The Seaview & we decided to book into the hotel for two nights as we were coming from Galway. We were told to pick whatever we wanted from the menu & not to worry about prices. My husband & I ordered 6 dishes each. The waiter came back a few minutes later to explain we have won 3 dishes each & will need to pay for any other dishes & the bottles of beer we ordered at first would be in exchange for the cocktails!! I couldn't believe how tight they were, after all we were already staying at the hotel, played golf & had eaten & drank there prior to our sitting. It was as though we were begging! The food itself was awful. The chicken balls could have been anything as couldn't taste chicken, the fish dishes were not good & the tuna & beef were raw. We stayed in the Seaview for drinks into the late hours & the staff were fantastic, super friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The cocktails were very good & the beers were chilled. It was the food that let the place down. The evening before we had Chicken Baguette's & chips in Jameson Bar & it was not good. The chicken was bland. On Saturday we had lunch again in Seaview. I had the Chicken sandwich with chips & my husband had steak. He didn't mention how he would like it cooked & therefore it was almost raw. The chips were nice & again chicken was awful. The food was just terrible & overpriced. On this occasion Portmarnock Hotel let us down regards food. We had breakfast on 2 mornings & our fried eggs were rubbery & on the Saturday morning the sausages were soft. The staff were fantastic & very friendly and make the place very welcoming & warm.
It's certainly no place for a fussy eater. Too little choice on the dinner menu, even though I'd eat pretty much anything. Breakfast was beautiful in the morning. No taytos or nuts at the bar which was also very disappointing. Rooms and service was spot on.
