About The Seafood Restaurant, Padstow
Opened by Rick Stein and Jill Stein in 1975, The Seafood Restaurant is famous for establishing an international reputation for the very freshest fish and shellfish, often landed on our doorstep. Head chef, Stephane Delourme and his team create simple seafood dishes with classic flavours using Rick’s recipes.
Overall we loved it! It was a bit quiet at lunchtime, but staff couldn't have been attentive. A beautiful restaurant and great food! We will come again again!
As a big fan of rick Stein and owner of just about all his books and DVDs, I was delighted to finally have a meal at the Seafood restaurant. We had previously visited the Fish & Chip restaurant on visits to Padstow from our home in Australia. This meal, in every respect, is in the top 10 in my memory amidst a lifetime of great food and service. Wonderful!!
As always fabulous food beautifully presented by professional yet friendly staff.
Lovely food & great food service. Due to a training session in the bar we waited far too long for our first drink. Whilst I understand that training has to happen, this should have been explained to us & perhaps given a glass of wine in the meantime. Instead we were just left & completely ignored. In the end we had to ask a waitress to intervene as there seemed to be no stopping the training session.
The whole experience was faultless. Polite, professional and attentive staff. Mussels and lobster were cooked to perfection. Trip was organised as a birthday treat and we absolutely loved it.
Your staff need to explain more about the dishes as they come out, there is no atmosphere in the restaurant and it felt like hard work Go visit No 6 much better all round and you could probably learn from there
As ever, a great afternoon spent in the Seafood Restaurant. Great food, brilliantly prepared and served.
A little pricey but worth it. Great experience
We love this restaurant, but we were a little disappointed with the lack of variation in the menu (same as last time), and the service was definitely not as good as all our previous visits. Staff were less attentive and more pretentious, which we have never experienced before. We’re not so keen to go back after this visit unfortunately.
Unfortunately it did not live up to its reputation. The food was average, and the atmosphere was a little dull. The table we were given was right by the kitchen entrance even though it looked like there were better tables available, and the waiting staff were constantly lifting trays above my husbands head to get past - at one point he had to duck and at several points during the evening they bumped in to his chair. Would not return.
Saturday night in the Seafood Redtuaruant was terrific. Despite being rammed and with some vvip “customers” on the premises our service and food were both standout. Thank you so much.
Fantastic place to be as usual. Nothing negative to say.
We were really pleased to get a table for lunch. I have to say the food was excellent!! Probably one of the best meals we ve had even better that Le Manoir......! For what we had with wine I thought the price of just over £100 was excellent value for money. The service was superb despite the restaurant being very busy. We are only in Devon for the week but we plan to go again! Loved it!
Set 3 course lunch - superb food and brilliant value. whats not to like?
An amazing evening with the finest of food and drink the taster menu was incredible the staff were outstanding .
A wonderful dining experience. As usual it did not disappoint!
We were very happy with the whole evening. Thank you very much.
Overall we were very happy - only negative comment would be too much salt and butter with the Cadgwith ray which detracted from the taste of the fish.
Amazing as normal.best place ever.
We had a lovely meal and a great afternoon. Thank you
Excellent meal with fantastic service
Not convinced cote de boeuf is the best option for non fish eaters like myself. Personally I would have preferred a rib eye, rump of lamb or venison on a winter menu. Love the restaurant, every aspect, always eat with you during the food festival but thought the beef was tough & not a great flavour-sorry.
Really nice lunchtime meal, great service, helpful happy staff and good variety on the menu. Perfect start to our Christmas festival experience.
Fabulous food & accommodation, highly recommended.
We had a really lovely afternoon yesterday, food amazing, best clams I’ve ever had. . Alvarinho wine lovely! We are just waiting for food in the chip shop!!!
