About The Seafood Restaurant, Padstow
Opened by Rick Stein and Jill Stein in 1975, The Seafood Restaurant is famous for establishing an international reputation for the very freshest fish and shellfish, often landed on our doorstep. Head chef, Stephane Delourme and his team create simple seafood dishes with classic flavours using Rick’s recipes.
No Cornish cream and custard but had a brilliant time.
The usual excellent experience!
Good food, excellent service and vibe. Consistent over the years
Our attendance was for the charity lunch, it was excellent value and also for a good cause.
A better selection of jams for breakfast would have been appreciated
Fantastic as always. And a great improvement with the flooring.
We have always had a wonderful experience at The Seafood Restaurant in past years when we have supported their charity lunches, however this year was disappointing. Reception staff were sullen and not welcoming. Waiting staff were efficient, pleasant and altogether delightful. The food was okay but I think when you go to Rick Steins you expect more than ‘okay’. I had soup which was good. The seafood gratin was short on seafood and needed some vegetables to offset it. My bread and butter pudding was mushy with no substance to it.
We went to the charity lunch and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff went out of their way to make you welcome. Would definitely recommend you visit the restaurant.
We came to one of your Charity lunches - it was wonderful in every way! The spicy fish soup was memorable and it was good to see the potato curry with haddock and egg still on your menu after many years. That was one of the first dishes I ever had at The Seafood. Thank you.
Excellent food and service. Impressed as had a bad dinning experience at the Cornish Arms recently.
Thank you for a lovely lunch
So lovely as usual. Can't wait till next year
Superb quality of food with an unrivalled ambiance to the restaurant. Service second to none
What I like about your restaurants is that your staff have a real passion for working there. They are incredibly proud to work here and it applies to everyone. In my experience this is somewhat unique and it makes an enormous difference to the customer experience
So disappointed. Have been eating at the Seafood for years and this was without doubt the worst meal I’ve had not only there but anywhere. I like to choose something i dont eat at home so went for the pasta with cavolo nero cabbage. It was so drenched in oil i couldnt eat it. I then chose the hake with puy lentils and red wine sauce. The hake was so over cooked it was dry, the lentils were hard and unfortunately the waitress took away the jug of sauce after serving a dribble which might have helped it go down. The saving grace was the apple tart tatan, delicious, superb. I was looking forward to the petti fores served with the coffee but they've been axed from the charity lunches in an effort to save costs i presume. That's taken the edge of the meal being something special. Had to go home and have something to eat! I have previously booked to return next week with family. At least i shall know what to and what not to order, definitely have the fish pie, which you can order in any pub in town, lets hope it’s something special.
Excellent food and service.
We had a super time here. Superb food & friendly, efficient & very attentive staff.
Not impressed by where we were seated, next time we will ask for corner seats in the larger part of the restaurant.
This is our fifth year first class as always Charity Lunches tick all the boxes for the local people as well as the Holiday Makers very good value
Fantastic evening for my child's 21st Birthday made extra special that all staff knew it was a special evening for us thank you we will be back !!
Excellent food and service, far better than the previous two years of visiting. The noise level however is very high due to the acoustics of the venue plus loud music adding to the overall sound.
Great service and great food as always. Thank you.
My friend and I attended the Air Ambulance fundraiser lunch. Our meals were superb, really tasty and great quality. Highly recommended.
I really enjoyed my visit to The Seafood Restaurant for the charity lunch. The food was excellent and the service was first class. We had a wonderful experience. Thank you.
