When placing a reservation please inform us if you have any access requirements, need a highchair or plan on bringing a dog.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch the only complaint I have was the Mega Combo roast, it was as big as I'd liked for £15.95 I was hoping the portion was a lot bigger. I did mention something to the waiter and he kibdkt brought me out more potatoes as I only had two previously. Thank you
Really lovely food and friendly, attentive service. Will definitely be going back.
I think my trip advisor reviews sums it up perfectically. Fantastic place.
This was a family meal for my husband's birthday. There was a lovely atmosphere in the pub and the food was delicious. In fact my son said that the steak was the best he had ever had! We will be back again soon.
The Sunday lunches were delicious! They were a good size and very good value for money. We are all so pleased the kitchen is open again and look forward to seeing you very soon!
The service was intermittent and the food was quite greasy.
Lovely food good service. I will definitely go again.
For the first time the food wasn't great very disappointed. Sorry guys.
A few weeks back a party of 11 visited The Schooner on a Saturday afternoon,we had a thoroughly good time,we enjoyed the drinks, atmosphere, and the lunch we were presented, the staff were faultless, excellent service. My wife also took a party of 8 work colleagues to have a lunch, during the week, and, once again everything was fine On the strength of this, two of our friends and ourselves decided to try a Sunday roast, one of us is vegetarian, the rest of us chose the roast beef,we were served with dinner, the vegetarian meal was mostly cold, which had to be returned,my wife's was cold too,we all agreed that it was rather unpleasant! my wife and our friend sent theirs back to be reheated, we were given apologies by a member of staff and he took two of the dishes away, I found the beef rather bland and, although my potatoes were reasonably warm the rest of the meal was...rather sub-standard,particularly the Yorkshire pudding..You ask for a rating on food & drink, the selection of ales etc. is very good indeed but something needs to be done about your Sunday lunches, ours was not what we expected. I belong to Trip-advisor and at the moment, I find myself in a bit of a quandary as the drinks, and staff were very good so I am not sure what review I could place? How very unfortunate after such a good time on previous occasions! My wife is so disappointed that she will not be returning under any circumstances!
Ideal for us yesterday - un-rushed and very welcoming. I thought the food just went that extra mile to make it special but keeping it in the realm of good pub food. Monkfish scampi was excellent. Beers were good - well priced under £5 for a pint of Punk IPA is brilliant. Very nice Picpoul. Staff very friendly and accommodating. So whole family - aged from 29 - 85 had a great time.
The presentation of the food could not be better, the service was also brilliant however I did feel that the chicken burger I had could have been a little more appealing and the portion of coleslaw was more like a shot ! I also felt the ginger beer from the bar was minuscule, I always have ginger beer when out and this was quite possibly THE smallest I have ever had!
As like many I try to reduce my carb intake so I requested extra salad instead of a bun with my burger and onion rinfmgs instead of fries .none asked how I liked my burger which was very well done (dry) It came with one slice of tomato and a few lettuce leaves -hardly a salad the onion rings were however delicious. We were not told about the specials until we went to pay and saw the board on the bar. Not the best meal I have had here 😞
Usually great atmosphere and excellent food but last time I went atmosphere was slightly lacking and my main course not as good as on previous occasions, however I would say 90% of the time excellent! possibly better at weekends when busier and also scaffolding currently obscuring the lovely view.
Amazing food! Staff are so friendly and helpful! Can't fault it!
Every time I have visited the staff have been great and the food fantastic. I love that you are dog friendly too.
Lovely food with great service and view
Good sized serving of well cooked food, served by friendly staff. We sat by the window overlooking the harbour and never felt rushed.
We booked the Schooner for a family get together for 24 people, we didn't have one complaint or fault with our food. The service was excellent as always, and the staff really can't do enough for you. Fab experience!
Another excellent meal and thoroughly enjoyable evening at the Schooner. We'll keep coming back for the delicious food and drink as well as the friendly and attentive service.
Amazing food, lovely evening!
Hi Fiona I thought I would put something on here rather than trip advisor for a change! Where shall I start basically I had such a great birthday and personally want to thankyou and the staff. We were really impressed with how it all went the timing was great to bring out that many dinners and them all be hot was fabulous. One or two of our guests had not been before well I can tell you now I think they will be back some very impressed friends loved it. The food was amazing. I don't think I can recommend the schooner enough I absolutely love it. Thank you all so much. Love Gareth and Louise

great food, great atmosphere, highly recommended place to eat
Would like to have been told that the ingredients on menu had been changed No roasted parsnips with chicken but had green beans instead. Very very slow getting our food. Booked at 6 and didn't get our mains until gone 7 which is far too late for me to eat so left most of it Shame because the starters were delicious
