About The Saracens Head Hotel
Dine with us any time and enjoy a wonderful choice of freshly cooked dishes with the emphasis firmly of flavour.
Start with a grazing board of Fish and Seafood or a selection of English favourites such as Scotch Eggs and homemade Sausage Rolls or try our freshly made Soup of the Day with warm Crusty Bread.
On our mains selection we will always have our Sausages and Mash, Beer Battered Fish with homemade Chunky Chips and Buttered Peas and of course our Burger, homemade and packed full of mouth-watering extras and served with a bowl of Chips. If you want a lighter bite, try the Risotto or our seasonal Salads. We also have a selection of specials that our chef changes daily.
You will want to be sure you leave room for dessert as ours are all homemade and all delightfully delicious! We have seasonal Fruit dishes, a delectable Warm Chocolate Brownie with Ice Cream and a selection of fine Cheeses to name just a few. You are bound to find the perfect end to your meal.
All our food is freshly prepared so we can cook to most dietary needs, all you need to do ask. Children are more than welcome and will find lots to choose from, either on their own special menu created for our younger customers or we can cut down the size of dishes from our menu.
To go with your meal there is an extensive choice of wines on our carefully put together list, which has clear and concise tasting notes to help you find the right one for you. Enjoy some wonderful bottles from vineyards around the world and all at reasonable prices, plus there is a great selection of wines and champagnes by the glass.
The restaurant staff were excellent with the F&B manager providing great service
I will be eating there again
Waitress kept forgetting we were their by her own admission, dropping items as they cleared table. We had to ask for plates to go with our starter and we had to chase our wine having waited 15 minutes for it, then it was put on table with cork still on the bottle once the cork was removed there was no attempt to poor it for us. Staff despite been apologetic were a shambles with a near empty restaurant.
A great place to relax & enjoy an evening.
Was a lovely night out, and had the Christmas menu which was good value for money. The only downside was the braised beef was gristly and so was my friends so a little disappointing but we still ate it, other friend enjoyed her turkey meal. Service was great.
Great Sunday lunch again cooked to perfection with outstanding service , would highly recommend a visit
I rather not say. Thank you!
The service was shocking really poor waiting ages for our drinks and had to go and collect them from the bar
We have been to eat at the Saracens Head on a number of occasions and always found the food and service excellent. We will be going back.
Very good meal, would definitely visit again
Nice and clean. Great staff.
Very good value for money, very impressed with quality and presentation of the food. Excellent waiting staff. Well worth a visit, we will be back.
The scores above are slightly misleading. The waitress was very friendly and helpful but food service was very slow. The food when it arrived was good. We were the only four dinners in the restaurant and we had to wait over forty minutes for our starters and over half an hour for our mains. Our drinks were also a long time in arriving something to do with having to find our wine - this was acceptable but when the food was such a long time it compounded the issue. We have had much better speed of delivery on previous visits.
I would recommend with a few caveats . . I Came down from Bradford to take my friend out for her birthday and your restaurant was recommended. The food was lovely the reason I couldn't mark higher is that it could have done with being as hot not warm (the main courses and the warm chocolate browine was aired not warm). The service was slow - not a problem as we were mot in a rush but one of the young girls didn't crack a smile at all.not sure if i would visit again as veggie choice was limited.
Food was great and good choice, staff are friendly and attentive without being invasive.
Lovely evening catching up with my eldest daughter and her partner Andy. Great service, good food in very relaxed surroundings.
great quality food and lovely ambiance j
Terrific Service, you have great waiting and reception staff Thank you for looking after our visit and making it a pleasant one
We have been to the Saracen's Head for Sunday lunch on two occasions recently. Both times the service was extremely attentive and the food of a very high standard and excellent value for money.
ive had two lovely evening meals here great ,many thanks
The Beetroot risotto needs to be re thought. It looked like red mush and didn't really taste of anything. The steaks and sea bass were lovely. I would have liked a simpler dessert menu.
Great place to eat! Food was lovely, staff friendly and a great atmosphere. Would visit again.
Great food and service! Thank you very much.
Restaurant badly designed. Back door open all the time letting in a cold wind. Overlooked by reception staff, no wall to divide dining area from people coming in from rear entrance soconsequently disturbed by noise .
