About The Saracens Head
Pub in the village of Warburton, Cheshire service one cooked food and home of the Steak stone. Large beer garden with children play area (indoor and outdoor).
Slow and poor service. Requested steak knives, server went to get them, he started speaking to a customer and never came back, had to re-ask another member of staff, meanwhile our food was going cold (it wasn't that hot to start with). Steak undercooked, mentioned when server was clearing table (she asked if there was anything wrong with the steak), we explained it was rare, offered a free dessert (may have been better to not actually charge for the £20 steak), we declined the dessert, we asked for the bill, she half cleared the table and didn't bother coming back with the bill, we had re-ask another member of staff.
One of the best afternoon teas we have had. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would certainly go again.
already left review on trip advisor … very pleased with visit and afternoon tea was lovely (only small fault, bread on sandwiches had started to dry obviously due to earlier prep) other than that, couldn't fault it! service was great, staff really nice and well turned out and your bathrooms are amazing! a real credit!
Great pub with home produced food. Fab outdoor play area and playbarn. However booked online and asked to be seated adjacent to child’s play area. When we arrived staff weren’t aware we had both ones online and we had to dine indoors on a sunny day opposed to outside which wasn’t offered to us as requested. Annoying!
We were delighted with the service at the Saracens Head for our daughter's christening buffet. The staff couldn't do enough for us and kept the food plates well stocked. Many if the guests commented on how good the food was, and I felt it was great value for money. We'll definitely be back, thanks so much to Becky and all the team
From the service to the food to the actual place itself, couldn’t fault it one bit! Will be back without a shadow of a doubt
Unfortunately we had long gaps in between courses. It was over an hours wait between the starter and main. Then my little boy ordered a pudding and it had been totally forgotten. My gin that I picked of the menu was wrong, no strawberries and wrong flavour tonic. Staff were very nice but the kids got totally fed up. We were not told there would be a wait either xx
Lovely tentative friendly service
Great meal. Service was quite slow though.
Ilike the place good food and well price
Lovely meal, friendly staff, will return
Quick service & very friendly staff. The Afternoon Tea was lovely with tasty sandwiches & delicious cakes. Plenty of jam & cream with the scones. Scones were nice but would be better warmed. Never been before but we did enjoy our experience. Seems to be popular with young mums & babies / toddlers which would put us off returning although they were well behaved during our visit.
One of the best afternoon tea we've had and staff very pleasant.
Unfortunately we left without managing to receive our main course. We waited over 2 hours and only managed to receive our starters. We waited so long for our mains my toddler fell asleep. The lady in charge was very apologetic however we left hungry and disappointed.
First time, went for afternoon tea. The staff were very friendly. Was surprised to find only one type of high chair considering it's a family pub (for older children).
Great food, lovely staff, would highly recommend.
Very enjoyable Afternoon Tea, well presented with attentive staff.
Went for afternoon tea. Not the best I’ve ever had, whipped cream with scones which was a bit weird & not very nice. Asked for clotted but they didn’t have any. Nice sandwiches, lovely decor and good quick service.
Had a lovely afternoon tea which was great as a present. Would recommend can’t value for money as previously stated a present.service and food is good
Really good experience. It was mother's day so very busy but we didn't feel rushed and the food was delicious. It was ideal. We have a two yr old so eating out isn't always easy but the staff were wonderful. The presents of prosecco for me and my mum were a lovely touch and greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Our table was booked for 4:15 however we weren't able to be seated until 4:45, it left us just stood at the bar with an impatient toddler for half an hour. There wasn't anything for the toddler of the group to do whilst waiting for food (colouring in, games etc) and service was very busy so seemed a bit scatty.
Food & service were amazing. Will definitely be visiting again!
My first time dining here in a very long time and must say I really enjoyed it. Great menu selection and nice atmosphere. My only negative would be it was rather busy and there were only 2 members of staff serving food which meant we waited a long time for desserts and coffee. Can't fault the members of staff though, they apologised but just needed more help. Will definitely be returning soon
A lovely evening had by all. We took advantage of the steak meals with free starter and dessert. Lovely food, good service and as it was my sons 18th, they gave him a free celebratory drink Highly recommended
