About The Salusbury Pub
The Salusbury is a gastropub in the hub of the Queens Park community. Under the same ownership for almost 20 years, The Salusbury has become a local landmark, serving fresh and seasonal British cuisine and pub classics. Our curated wine list changes regularly and features an excellent variety of great value, fine and rare wines. We also offer a great selection of draft and craft beers, cocktails and spirits. Whether in for a pint and a starter or a three course menu on a special occasion, you will be looked after by the team with warmth and a genuine desire to please.
The hammering next to the dining room was disturbing and prices are high, especially when side vegetables are added onto main meals. The quality of food and vegetarian selections was good.
Booked for 3:30pm, 2 adults, one child (4) one toddler (2). Arrived on time and 3tables were empty but we had to wait nearly 10mins for one to be ready for us, my partner just sat down at one in the end to get them to get one ready! Restaurant was semi-full but we had to ask for everything, menus, drinks. We weren’t offered a kids menu despite having a 4 and 2 year old with us, maybe not that child friendly? Not sure. Asked if they had onesnd told yes and couple of choices given but in a very frantic way as if he needed to be elsewhere. Our kids food arrived first (macaroni cheese) which was good but we had to ask for ours as wait in between quite long. Has birder (good) and roast chicken (also good). Staff just seemed quite frantic and disorganised. Appreciate they may have had a long service that day but no excuse for dropping the ball just because you’re nearly done. We like the food here but service seriously needs to improve to compete with their local competitors. We’d not been here for Sunday lunch in nearly 2 years and think we’ve been reminded of why! Shameasit could be great.
Great food, lively buzzy atmosphere, service a bit basic, but you were busy. Would definitely return.
Good quality pub food but the noise levels were off the scale! There was a table of the most awful people behind us who brought their dogs into the pub and they were beyond loud. The service also left much to be desired.... food arriving but with no cutlery. It took forever to get attention of staff and when they did come over they barely knew the menu...
I hadn't been to The Salusbury for years and was staying in the area so thought I would go back for old time's sake. It was fabulous. The food was great - we shared a steak and a burger as we couldn't make up our mind and I am glad I got to taste both as they were both delicious. The staff were amazing and friendly as well as being informed and efficient. Made me sad that I moved away from the area.
I have used the Salusbury on a number of occasions. As always the food is excellent. Only one criticism, I had the beef roast and I prefer my gravy thicker :). The atmosphere and service have not been left wanting. Had a lovely afternoon, and the 'Romanian'(I believe) Pinot G was particularly good.
Wonderful food. Reliable as always. A lovely night
We'd really looked forward to our family meal here. It was my favourite gastro pub some years back. It was a slight disappointment to find that some of the old Italian favourites were not on the menu. But the food - burgers, fish and chips were good. We sat waiting for quite sometime before getting the menu (actually in the end we helped ourselves) and before someone took our drinks order. The waitress service was appalling which really spoilt what was meant to be a special night out.
Lovely food however there was one specific member of staff who set a specific tone that took a way from an otherwise pleasant meal. We were made to feel that everything we asked seemed like a chore or we were met with a non-chalant or less than enthusiastic response. The other staff were nice and friendly and we veered towards approaching them instead; it’s just worth mentioning to the pub so they know that they do have staff like this.
Think we had a new waitress who was slightly unfriendly and tried to clear our plates while we were eating. The gentleman who took our order was a charming host and made up for the other staff
Very nice pub with delicious food and a great selection of drinks and wine.
Great Sunday roast, can’t wait to go back!
I have visited this pub on a few occasions and can't actually believe you allow dog owners to bring their dogs (whatever size they are) into the restaurant area where food is being served. Not only is this unhygienic it's also very awkward to manoeuvre and avoid contact when you have a dog sitting so close to you (if you're not a dog lover) in this very small space. I thought the idea of a restaurant is for human beings to have a meal not dogs ..Another thing I disliked was our waiter assuming it was ok to tap my debit card without asking!!
Lovely venue, great food and helpful service
The food was really mediocre. My steak was dry and no juice. My boyfriend had the lamb which was also bad. Been coming to the salusbury for many years and quality has deteriorated sadly
I have not been here for a couple of years. The food on Friday 8/6 was incredible - beautifully cooked and delicious. Service friendly and efficient. The squid was the best I have ever had, and the chicken/ham pie the same. Price as expected for the area. Thank you and well done! Christian
Booked and confirmed easily online. Perfect atmosphere for my first date, just busy enough at 1930 to create mood but still able to hold and hear conversation. Food great. Waitress’s attire could have been smarter but pleasant enough young lady.
Very nice local pub with a good atmosphere. Delicious Sunday roast and nice selection of wines. Would definitely come back again.
Decent food, great buzzy atmosphere
