About The Ruperra Arms
150 year old village pub serving freshly produced gourmet pub food, complimented with a selection of local craft ales and beers.
Staff were extremely pleasant and attentive. Atmosphere in the pub was charming and the food was delicious. So impressed I have booked again for next week.
Excellent service. Well cooked food. Great place for Sunday lunch with the family.
Lovely afternoon out at The Ruperra. Food was amazing.
A warm & *friendly welcome from the staff
Unfortunately I am unable to comment on the food itself. I booked a table last Saturday for my birthday on the Thursday. We turned up at 7pm on the Thursday to be greeted by a rude member of staff behind the bar who simply said “I did try to ring you. The kitchen is closed tonight” with no apology at all. I reserved a table using my email address and phone number. Neither of these were used to contact me to tell me my reservation was cancelled.
An excellent, well cooked Sunday lunch in a cosy pub.
We brought 2 South African friends who are surrounded by high quality locations in Cape Town. They thought the food was top class - and were surprised by the cost, compared to London. Don’t eat out very often, but would choose the Ruppera when we do.
Not enough veg for 6 people or cauliflower cheese.Had to order more.Apart from that the food was lovely
Just perfect. Can't say any more
Absolutely outstanding! On our doorstep and will be back many, many times! Thank you!
We will definitely be visiting again.
Unfortunately we were informed with less than an hours notice that there had been a gas leak and our reservation was cancelled. Barry disappointing
Food was amazing. Our waitress made some recommendations whilst we were ordering and the food was amazing. Even if it was not a time when 40% was deducted from main courses, the prices would have been good value and worth it. Definitely recommend and definitely be back
Food was excellent. The young lady running the bar and waitressing was amazing and made us feel welcome and handled our long wait for food extremely well
Brilliant food great service & a very friendly atmosphere was really good night
We had a really lovely evening. The staff were fab and the food was excellent. We will definitely be going again and have already recommended it to friends.
Really nice welcome, fantastic food and nice wine. Steak night, great Thursday night.
Excellent meal and service
I think you're living off the good feedback built up by the previous owner. I don't think you could care less about my feedback but I've cut and pasted it from Google and Facebook. There are so many issues with this place. I relied on the website and booked a table. Upon arrival I was told that "there were no bookings shown and it didn't matter". What a great start. I've seen better furnishings in a factory staff canteen. It resembled the 60's and I'm not sure if that was intended. I would describe it as a "spit and sawdust look". I'm sure my table was sticky. The menu was different to that on the website because "we changed it". Why didn't you change your website then? "We are working on it" LESSON ONE - DONT RELY ON THE WEBSITE. I was interested in battered cod. I asked if it had skin. "What do you mean" "No, it is battered" was the first reply. Once I had explained, I was assured "No, it doesn't" Well it did. When I questioned it, the chef told the server to tell me that "keeping the skin on keeps the fish whole"! The chef wouldnt speak with me. LESSON TWO - BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT YOUR ARE TOLD. I didn't realise that they served "lazy chips" ... chips with the skin on which I hate. They resembled "scraps" that you get from the chippy. Salt and pepper was it ... no vinegar, no sauces, no coasters for your drinks. I won't be going back to be magged off for a second time even with 40% off. It was exceptionally basic cooking and not good cooking. I think they pureed 6 peas and added something to it to get the spoonful of mushy pea accompaniment. . Tiny and very pretentious. Maybe this place attracts food snobs. Not for me. I'd have trouble giving it one star. There has been no response from the owner since posting this honest review which says a lot about their customer focus
We had an amazing Sunday lunch at the ruperra! We can’t wait to come back!
The serving staff were excellent and I really like the pub interior and beer selection. However, to take our order, then tell us that there weren't going to be doing any kids' food (there were two kids with us) is not on. The beef option was two thin slices of beef, which is a bit stingy if you ask me, and while I thought the carrots were nice, boiled cabbage is a destitute man's idea of vegetable trimmings. The food here is usually really good, but I won't be bothering with sunday lunch again, as costs have fairly obviously been cut right back...
Fantastic little pub, the food was excellent, particularly the peanut butter chocolate fondant.
Food was incredible, normal pub feel but with a high end food quality. Came here for my partners birthday dinner and would definitely come back!
