About The Ruperra Arms
150 year old village pub serving freshly produced gourmet pub food, complimented with a selection of local craft ales and beers.
I thought it was really bad that we had booked a table for Sunday 15th March and all went through online. We arrived to find the pub closed with no sign to state why. So very much a wasted journey.
We arrived last night to find at 7. 30 everything closed.
Reserved a table for 12md on Sunday 8th March 2020 but the building was closed and no lights on. Tried ringing but went straight to answer machine. Left at 12.15pm and had to find somewhere else. There were others who came and left. Really felt let down?
taking bookings online whilst the restaurant is closed! tried to ring to confirm booking but there isn't even so much as a voicemail letting customers know. wasted trip, don't bother booking.
To whom it may concern I booked a table online for lunch at 12.45 at the Ruberra Arms Bassaleg. myself and my husband arrived there to find it wasn't even open. we we were really disappointed. we tried every door. looked through the windows it was all in darkness. so I had to drive around to find a pub that had a table free. After three pubs we was lucky to find a table. SO SO Disappointed. I've only filled the above in otherwise this won't go through
Booked online and place was closed
The pub was shut despite me receiving 2 emails confirming my booking. Very disappointing as it was for a birthday and we had booked for eight people.
I can't really leave much, I was called thirty minutes prior to the booking to cancel due to only one chef being in but needed to leave due to a family emergency. This can't be helped.
Booked a table online, but pub was closed when we arrived! Very disappointing! No apology received either!
Excellent Sunday lunch
As always and exceptional meal and service. All starters, mains and deserts were perfect. Garlic mushrooms, lamb and chocolate brownie! We asked to be sat in the back room so that we could watch the rugby and it was no problem for the staff to accommodate our request. Lovely wine with the meal . All in all a super Sunday.
Excellent food and service
Very nice food
Excellent meal in a great pub with superb staff.
Great food, and the staff made us feel very welcome.
Lovey Sunday lunch! Nice cosy pub! Great service
The fish pie had been microwaved to such a high heat it was dangerous and had to be left for at least 10 minutes before able to eat. The soup dish was very hot to the touch and your waiting staff should make customers aware as again it was dangerously hot. After receiving the bill, nobody came back for payment so after 15 minutes went to the bar to pay.
Another excellent Sunday lunch!
Fantastic Sunday dinner will be back 😁
Superb food, great service.
First time at the Ruperra and will definitely be returning. The place was cosy but not cramped, the atmosphere was sedate but not stuffy, the staff were lovely and the food was magnificent. Thank you!
It has been many years since my husband and I have dined at the Rupera Arms, we met with friends, the service was very good, just enough time between courses! We felt looked after but not rushed! The food was good! Well presented! The negative is that I was not told we would be allocated a table in the bar, which was so noisy we could hardly hear each other at our table of four! The volume of noise was relentless and for us spoilt the evening! Just be aware of this when booking!
Delicious food, pleasant atmosphere
A traditional and unspoiled pub with a great atmosphere and wonderful food. Hats off to the chef, who clearly has a great sense of flavour.
