About The Royal George
Located on Irsha Street, at the meeting point of the Taw and Torridge rivers, our waterside pub is in the perfect position to take in the superb view across the estuary.
At The Royal George we aim to deliver a locally sourced menu of the highest quality, with innovative dishes and twists on traditional classics. Our talented kitchen team selects the freshest seasonal and local ingredients. Our lovingly put together wine list has been created to compliment the food. We also have a selection of beers, ciders, and gin - many locally made in North Devon and the surrounding area.

Unfortunately we haven’t been yet, postponed until July due to lockdown. Looking forward to seeing you then.
we had a lovely boxing day meal, thank you … & thanks for turning the music down, my sister has a hearing problem so background noise is quite an issue for her... Alison :)
Friendly staff, great food and a wonderful view !
Always have a wonderful meal at TRG. Great service, delicious food and fabulous views.
Best meal we had over the Christmas period. Food & service was excellent, hope to be back soon.
Fantastic and yummy. Really enjoyed ourselves while feeling covid safe
Amazing host, beautiful setting and lovely food. We were even given homemade shortbread on arrival. Would highly recommend this place!
Fantastic little pub, with some excellent food and tremendous views. We will be back for sure.
As always, a most enjoyable meal prepared to a high standard. I will continue to use The Royal George; there are few restaurants in North Devon that are as consistent as this one.
Exceptional food and service in a beautiful setting.
We always enjoy coming to The Royal George for a meal and Christmas Eve was no exception. Friendly and hospitable. Delicious food. Views second to none. We will be back!
Lovely restaurant with delicious food. The staff were friendly and the restaurant felt very covid safe. The only thing I would say is that we have visited several times now and each time the dining experience does feel slightly rushed. It would be lovely if you got slightly longer between courses to enjoy a drink and the atmosphere.
Fabulous food, excellent service and felt covid safe.
I love coming to the royal George, great food, lovely views and good service. I shall be back!

Food ok, service ok, it was just ok, not great and not bad.
Delicious meal in safe surroundings with superb view and friendly service! Will return asap
Very nice staff.
Great as always. Wonderful, delicious, good quality food and excellent service.
We had a lovely lunch at the Royal George. The atmosphere, service and of course views were all great. The food tasted lovely. My only criticism would be that the vegan main was quite small. Considering it was mostly vegetables (obviously 😉) it was finished very quickly and I still felt hungry afterwards. I wish I’d have ordered some extra sides to go with it. Maybe this should be recommended by the waiting staff, or considering the price, maybe a bigger portion would be preferable?
Another very enjoyable meal at the RGH. Lovely, friendly service .
Excellent, not a single fault with service or food. Would 100% come again.
The Royal George has everything! Not only is it in a spectacular location, it is run by people who love what they do. Whether you pop in for a quick bite or that special occasion it's always going to be memorable. The wonderful cuisine is worth going for alone, but when you add the friendly attentive staff and amazing views across the estuary you just can't help but want to return again and again.
