Delicious Sunday roast!
We enjoyed brunch yesterday, our friends had it been before and will go again, please canyou provide decaf coffee in the refill please
A lovely meal had by all. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, drink, atmosphere and will definitely dine here again
When we ordered the wrong wine was brought Then my husbands Cesar salad the bacon was uncooked and the salad lack taste the breakfast came without bacon so in all Not very good service Not sure we would go back
A delicious bottomless brunch. The food was amazing, the atmosphere and decor were fab and the service was great too. Will be returning for sure!
Excellent service from the staff, very good menu for dairy free
We were disappointed with the chips as they were so over cooked we couldn’t eat a lot of them but having pointed this out to the waiter, he kindly gave us a free dessert. Unfortunately as we were having the £15 lunch offer this was only £1.50 worth not £6. Everything else was lovely though and the waiter was excellent.
Beautiful setting overlooking the River. Nice decor inside and the staff were friendly and attentive. The Greek Salad was a bit bland and not worth the money and it was very cold inside, we had to ask for the heating on a couple of times. Would go back, just wouldn't order the salad again and will take an extra layer
On this visit I wasn’t impressed.. food average not a patch on normal quantity
Website had not updated the menu. Guest were expecting a menu which suited the fussier eaters in the party. Food was well presented, waitstaff were polite and attentive.
Brilliant customer service, great atmosphere, high end surroundings and really great food. Sam was really friendly and accommodating. The only reason I’ve given service 4 stars is the wait at the bar with just one person serving. Well done Pen and Cob
The venue is absolutely stunning, what an incredible make over! However the service was a little on the slow side and the staff weren't very tentative. We had a group booking for a baby shower which they kindly let me decorate the table for but food was cold and we were constantly trying to get the waitresses attention to be served which was quite frustrating. On the plus side the meal was really reasonably priced. Hopefully teething problems, but may need more staff.
Whilst the food was delicious, the service was not. They kept trying to leave before we had ordered everything, without checking “was that all?” The drinks took so long to come out. My husband ordered a glass of lemonade and the waiter just left. We had to wait until he took photos of the baby shower before we got his attn again to order a further glass of wine. The drinks took so long to come out, we had finished our main meal. We ate early but you had run out of cranberry sauce! No apple sauce for the pork. After we got the bill, there was nobody to pay it to, had to go to the bar. We did wait 15 minutes for somebody to surface. We had thought about booking for our 40th wedding anniversary which is why we were there, but to be honest, I would be ashamed to bring friends and family to such a badly organised restaurant.
The food was very tasty and beautifully cooked, however the portion was small. I had three small, thin slices of beef in my Sunday roast dinner. The staff was polite, attentive but rushed off their feet meaning that perhaps you should have additional staff on the floor for busy periods.
Come alone for Brunch on Saturday , have been to the Pen & Cob a few times and see the brunch was advertised so wanted to give it a go having done a few in London. While it was nice , it doesn't really represent value for money , would have been slight cheaper given what we had to just have ordered off the menu normally and while it was busy and the guys were trying service was slow. I will probably returned to the pen & cob as i like the venue , but sadly not for the brunch as its not worth it
Had a wonderful time, the food was outstanding the live singer was a lovely added touch to the atmosphere. Katie was very warm and welcoming but the waiter after seating us took a good 20 minutes to take our order or ask for our drink order. I would defo recommend and would return for bottomless brunch in the future
Great service and food was good. The menu choice could have been better but overall I would recommend!!
Lovely and helpful wait staff, but our food took an hour to arrive and three of our group had to wait even longer. I think it would have been better if we had pre-chosen our orders as we were a group of 12, but this was not suggested after I booked. I will be back as it is a beautiful space and a nice vibe.
The Staff who served us very good and the food was excellent the only disappointment was that we had to wait a long time for the food to be served
Lovely meal fantastic service great venue
Great meal excellent service love the new look of the hotel. Will definitely return again for Sunday lunch.
Friendly and welcoming staff, yummy food and a lovely atmosphere! The nicest place to eat in town!
Our prawn cocktail was ok but the roast chicken dinner was the worst I have ever had. The chicken was fine but the carrot and parsnip were so soft they could have mashed and the cabbage was hardly cooked at all and the roast potatoes were reheated and tasted awful. We won't be going again.
Lovely Sunday lunch in the newly extended restaurant. The food was delicious especially the roast beef, the only negative was that the soup starter portion was too big and there was only a small slice/wedge of bread. The staff were helpful but not intrusive. An enjoyable experience in a lovely setting.
