About The River Room Galgorm
The River Room embodies the ethos of Galgorm in its menu and dishes offering a unique and memorable dining experience.
It is one of four restaurants in Northern Ireland to be awarded 3 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence. Chef Chris Rees creates dishes that are true to the ingredients, showcasing local artisan producers with menus that change daily. The menus are packed with seasonal ingredients sourced from carefully selected local suppliers and the Resorts very own kitchen garden, all imaginatively served to complement an extensive wine list.
Nice evening fillowing an afternoon in the spa...staff friendly enough but one or two where very reserved and stuffy ( perhaps a cultural issue ) We would also have appreciated the choice of some sides dishes ( hungry young adults ) however we were overall very satisfief and will return at some stage.
Service was exemplary. The food was amazing (if perhaps a little rich but that was down to personal choices). Nice atmosphere but maybe could be lower lit for more intimacy. Extensive wine list and a lovely time had overall. Highly recommended. Expensive maybe but you do get a 5 star experience for your money.
Great food and service
Very happy lovely meal.
Food and drink was fine. The atmosphere was very quiet but this was due to only 2 or 3 tables being occupied
We love the river room. It is our favourite place to eat. Have got to know the staff and they welcome us. Food always excellent with good choice of wines. Love the comfort of the room with the view of the weir and the river.
TBH if Ihad known that the £20 for two courses was not available but rather £30.95 for two courses I would not have booked. It was my family from Spain when did the two courses for £20 finish? Unlike last time ~ we had no amuse bouche but bread and butter since when was this an amuse en bouche...............?? I asked for a 'glass' of sparkling water and my sister asked for a 'glass' of still............we got served and opened before we could say a word a bottle of both at £4.70 each. And the one thing I did not like is that the waiting staff kept coming back to top up the water and then when the bottle was finished would you like another bottle...To me and I have dined in the best Michelin restaurants this is just too over the top.............and a marketing thing....pity real pity not sure I will be back any time soon.........bill £214.30 - don't think you will miss me.........and finallly this was not a memorable experience at all.........!
One of the best meals we have had
Highly recommend River Room for delicious food and excellent service
We love this place and go regularly- everything from the setting, service and the whole experience is fantastic with food that is among the best in N. Ireland. Fabulous dining experience every single time.
We had a thoroughly excellent meal...superb service thank you
A wonderful experience service, food and overall exoerience were all superb.A super treat!
Food portion too small. Left n ordered pizza
A very pleasant stay at Galgorm with a beautiful meal in the River Room. Staff and quality of our stay first class. Look forward to going back again in the near future.
My friends and I felt the only possible change would be more lighting at the table so that we could see better how great our food looked and was presented before it was eaten..
Beautiful food in a beautiful setting
We have dined in multiple AA rosette holding restaurants and were very excited to eat in the river room. The bread was dry and very thin and unexciting. We had the pork and partridge for starter, and beef and haddock for main. All of them we found very bland and overcooked and not in keeping with our experience of gourmet food. Flavours were sadly lacking. The chocolate dessert was fine, simply very chocolaty. Service and atmosphere were good, but not outstanding. Altogether a very disappointing and expensive birthday meal. We were also given the wrong bill at the end of the meal. We were asked if it was a special occasion when booking and informed them it was a birthday - but this was never mentioned again so not sure why they asked?!
A very fine dining experience. An imaginative and varied menu, beautifully cooked dishes most attractively presented. The service was excellent, and the maître d’ most professional - helpful, informative to the right degree, with a relaxed, charming manner.
We had a very enjoyable night, great service and staff Thank you
We had a lovely evening at the river room - food was amazing!
Dharshan was amazing and very knowledgable
Really enjoyed or Sunday lunch. Food was excellent and staff very attentive. Looking forward to our next visit.
Waitstaff is perfect, maitre'd is outstanding and food is the best.
Not sure of his name but our waiter was a gentleman with great knowledge of all food we'd ordered and more. We stayed on Wednesday night and ate at 8:30pm if that's any help. Very happy customers and enjoyed everything - bar the wine (too sweet for me but we were asked if we wanted to taste before it was poured, I said it would be ok which was my own fault) other than that stunning.
