About The River Restaurant - The Lowry Hotel
It’s all going on at the 2 AA Rosette River Bar and Restaurant at The Lowry Hotel, where breakfast, afternoon tea, Sunday lunch and dinner is served.
The River Restaurant at The Lowry Hotel is one of Manchester’s best places to eat and drink in a glass-walled, riverside setting overlooking Santiago Calatrava’s Trinity Bridge where views of Manchester from daylight sparkle to an evening glow.
The convivial atmosphere is also deeply luxurious with purple leather chairs, semi-circular banquettes, while Fornasetti plates, mirrors and lithographs and prints decorate walls, The River Restaurant also has an exclusive private dining room for up to 24 people which is licenced for weddings and civil ceremonies.
The à la carte menu has been devised around the best local and seasonal produce, while the popular Sunday lunch menu is £22.50 per person for three courses and is always accompanied by live music.
We have a wide range of options for our award-winning Afternoon Tea our traditional afternoon tea is available for £22.50 or upgrade and choose from our G & T, Champagne or Bellini afternoon tea for £33.00.
The adjoining River Bar and Terrace encapsulates The Lowry Hotel’s fun-loving spirit at the confluence of city life. Here you’ll find in the intimate, informal surroundings a quiet place to network, drink and kick-back with a perfectly mixed cocktail, club sandwich, salad, or more substantial dish from our menu. The cosy Library is tucked away at one end. Open until late, this is a place to enjoy our signature cocktails.
Here you will also find Manchester’s longest bar terrace — an open-air first-floor terrace for al fresco dining where you can enjoy a drink or meal from the bar or restaurant. Open year-round, The Terrace is perfect for summer afternoon get-togethers in this urban suntrap overlooking the River Irwell.
On Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons you will also be entertained with live entertainment.
Excellent meal and service from the team. Good choice for each of the three courses and the service was attentive without being overpowering. All the staff ensured everything was fine. Very tasty dishes and good portions. Definitely will visit again.
Excellent meal and lovely staff, very helpful. The only comment was I felt the tables were quite close together, with no screens or partitions. Apart from that enjoyed the meal very much and I will be back.
Great food alongside courteous & efficient service. Great experience all round. Thank you all.
Cant wait for lockdown to be over so i can come back
Food great, service also good but white wine was not chilled .. the offer was superb value
Most enjoyable evening COVID safe excellent food and service.
Had a great evening! Food was lovely and service was really good
Lovely food, even better staff. Felt very safe yet relaxed.
The waiter (Clinton ? from Goa) was excellent throughout
Great food and excellent service
Superb food with a great menu to choose from. Service was exceptional with a special thanks to Hayley who was both attentive and made us feel very welcome. Taking the time to explain the menu and make recommendations. We will definantly be returning.
Great food and excellent service. Friendly and professional throughout.
Excellent food and the staff where very attentive.
Delicious food, great service, restaurant slightly shabby and because it was so quiet due to Tier 3 restrictions there wasn’t much atmosphere but I would return in busier times . 3 course champagne dinner is great offer and quality of food for the price exceptional.
I really enjoyed my spa and afternoon tea
The reason behind the score was we felt the main course was served warm as opposed to hot which was a little disappointing.
Sunday Lunch experience. Under the current circumstances, wonderful service.
Absolutely lovely Sunday lunch, best roasties.
Superb food, wonderful staff. Loved it!
Lovely staff, very friendly, excellent food
We visited the Lowry River Restaurant for Sunday Lunch using a voucher purchased for my birthday. The experience was lovely, the staff were excellent, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was just right! It’s such a shame that we are going back into lockdown again this week as the hotel has clearly gone above and beyond to make the restaurant as safe as possible. Let’s hope things return to normal soon as I’d love to visit again and try the afternoon tea which also looked delicious!
The food was excellent the service was excellent I will definitely be back at this restaurant atmosphere was down because of the times we now live in but I’m sure it will be 5 stars next time hope you all stay safe thank you all very much
Had a lovely meal here for our Anniversary. Service was excellent particually from Clinton who really looked after us. Food was a reduced menu but still very good
Anniversary gift a Virgin gift voucher for 3 course meal and a glass of champagne each. The menu was nice , would off liked a little more choice . Place was nice , quiet , due to the guidelines atmosphere is not the same anywhere at the moment. The service was exceptional Thank you .
Staff were very helpful and polite. The afternoon tea was spectacular.
