About New Hall Hotel
or great food that is packed with flavour and reflective of the season, look no further than The Bridge. Our 2 AA Rosette restaurant serves a modern British menu of classic dishes, enhanced with a contemporary touch to bring out the best in the ingredients.
The Terrace Lounge and Bar, with stunning views across our grounds and moat, is a warm and inviting space which offers a place for guests to kick of their shoes and enjoy a light bite or refreshing beverage.
And with history around every corner, our medieval country house hotel offers a fitting setting to enjoy the time-honoured tradition of afternoon tea. Norton House Hotel
Thank you for a perfect afternoon on Saturday, it was the first catch up with my friend since lock down, and you all made it so lovely for us. The setting and the food was perfect and the service was first class, such a lovely friendly and professional team. Also noted and appreciated the visible and much demonstrated approach to making New Hall Covid secure, it certainly instilled confidence we were in safe hands. Thank you all.
We had a beautiful afternoon tea. Staff Very Helpful.
Good service at a difficult time for hotels and restaurants, so only one other couple in the Bridge restaurant. Food was tasty and well presented if not spectacular, and the building is interesting and a nice place to spend time.
We had a lovely time in the terrace restaurant. The food was delicious and the service very friendly. We could not fault it, we had an amazing relaxing afternoon
A cheaper bottle of house wine would be appreciated on the beverage menu as the food is so good it would be nice to enjoy with a bottle of wine but the wines offered are very expensive
Excellent experience in difficult times
Had afternoon tea to celebrate a 21st birthday - great, friendly service. Amazing setting to sip cocktails. Will be back soon
The staff made us feel ever so welcome. We were also celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary and the table was laid beautifully, we had a fantastic time and would love to return for our 2nd anniversary. Special thanks to Hermione.
Thank you for your lovely comments, we are thrilled you enjoyed your visit! Charlotte Horler Operations Manager

Thank you so much for your lovely review, we can't wait to welcome you again! Charlotte Horler Operations Manager
Loved the hotel and had a fantastic lunch and would highly recommend to family and friends. Only small feedbacks. Would have been nice to have option of tables with umbrella as not everyone likes to be exposed to the sun. Woulf be good to make clearer on the website that you had reduced menu as example menu had roasts on. None of these impacted our experience I must say and had a look around grounds afterwards and superb.
Thank you for your comments and feedback Mr Smith, we will take your points on board as we continue to improve. I am delighted you still enjoyed your time with us, and look forward to welcoming you again soon! Charlotte Horler Operations Manager
Our first post Covid venture out a great experience.

We had a wonderful anniversary. Hermoine was an excellent hostess. My husband and I were a little nervous about visiting, however, the team made us feel at ease straight away. The food was excellent too. Thank you for making our night so special.
I am so thrilled you felt safe and were well looked after by Hermione! We hope to welcome you again soon Charlotte Horler Operations Manager
Staff were very friendly and attentive - could not fault the service at all. Beautiful setting and grounds. Sandwiches were lovely. Perhaps for guests sat outside on a hot day serve the sweets after/ separately (sadly some of the pastries melted)? We very much enjoyed and have recommended to family who want to book this week
Thank you so much for your lovely comments and for joining us on a sunny weekend. We look forward to welcoming you again, Charlotte Horler Operations Manager

The staff went above and beyond on our meal. Due to it been our anniversary they placed a rose on the table as requested. The staff also brought out a chocolate anniversary decoration which was very nice and unexpected.
We are so pleased we enhanced your special occasion, making it even more perfect! We can't wait to welcome you back again soon, Charlotte Horler Operations Manager
It was so lovely to come back and visit New Hall. We love it here and were grateful to all those who made it happen. I loved the ambience of the bar which continued in to the restaurant. The champagne was not chilled when it first arrived, but this was soon rectified by the waiter and the manager acknowledged this accordingly. We will definitely be coming back soon.

Lovely venue, afternoon tea was very enjoyable, a birthday treat and excellent offer of 2 for 1.
Disappointed with the afternoon tea! 4 finger sandwiches! 2 scones! To eat 2 scones wiukd be a lot! And the little cubed cakes left little to the imagination! I’vr had better afternoon teas where there were more finger sandwiches and little tartlets with berries, strawberries etc and macaroons! It all looked fairly bland and ‘beige’!! No colour! It was a 2-1 deal but in my opinion not even worth £15 yet alone £30 at full price!! The glassware was very thick and heavy, not wafer thin crystal as I would have expected from a 4* hotel! The hotel itself is an amazing building but expectations let down by this mediocre afternoon tea experience! 😒
Having being a member of New Hall for many years I am really disappointed that the high quality of food and service seems to have taken a nose dive. The afternoon teas used to be excuisite but now they are cheap and bland. Sandwiches tasteless with cheap sliced bread. The deserts seemed also mass produced and bland. The service was poor and no friendliness to make the event special. Your Sunday roast menu has stopped which used to be the best I had ever had, what Hotel doesn't do a Sunday roast? New Hall used to be a place where celebrities went and now it appears to have fallen for making a cheap and fast buck! What a crying shame. Come on New Hall get your act together - people will pay for quality.
Service was extremely slow, taking nearly 30mins to bring drinks. Three afternoon teas were ordered, one being the savoury option. This arrived again nearly 30mins after the traditional teas were served. We were not advised at the point of ordering there would be a delay for the savoury option. I also requested one of the teas be upgraded to receive a glass of sparkling Rose. On receipt of the bill we were charged in excess of the cost of all three diners receiving such a glass, totalling £12.50 for a single glass. When this was queried at the till (away from family members) the explanation made no sense but to avoid a scene I reluctantly made no further comment. To make matters worse the Waiter then approached the table to explain again in front of everyone. All in all a very poor experience for a birthday celebration.
Visited for afternoon tea on this occasion. Slight delay seating us, but we were kept informed and seated in bar area while waiting. Robert took us to our table and was excellent throughout, letting us know the champagne was on its way and when food would arrive. Other servers equally as great: polite, helpful, prompt. Afternoon tea itself was good and no more. Ham sandwich and salmon sandwiches lovely. Cucumber sandwich and egg sandwiches simply ok, needed more flavour. My wife loved the chicken sandwich, I thought it was just ok again and lacking flavour. Scones were brilliant, as was quantity of jam (which looked homemade) and cream. Fruit/cream chocolate cup was delicious, other cakes tasty but too similar. We dined on a 2 for 1 offer, which made the whole thing very worthwhile and enjoyable. Not sure I would want to pay £70+ full price for same again, although maybe menu is cut down a bit to reflect deal. We've eaten at New Hall Hotel previously for dinner/breakfast after a weekend stay and would definitely visit again.
Loved the little doughnuts! Scones so very light. Sandwiches beautifully presented. Service v good.
Good quality afternoon tea.
