Sadly the experience was not what we had hoped for. The service was slow with little attention to detail or attentiveness. Damaged silver teapots and standard cups and saucers were far from the bone china we had expected for this venue. Dirty plates and cups were not cleared until asked to; the food arrived at all different times so we couldn't eat together and when it did arrive it was clearly missing the wow factor. This was a special occasion that we had hoped would be memorable for the right reasons and not the wrong. Dissappointing.

The location and grounds are truly exceptional, the service and staff are equally wonderful. However, the food, cleanliness and general keeping of the hotel is truly disappointing, we left our visit feeling deflated which a real shame.

We found the prices of the drinks very expensive. The afternoon tea was ok, we have had better at moor hall for same price. However the surroundings and grounds of New Hall are very impressive.

Food was very good but the service was poor had to ask for the pot of tea as it did not arrive until we had eaten our sandwiches then had to ask for to the two glasses of champagne.

The food and champagne were both good but I feel the food was overpriced and not quite as good as it thinks it is. The menu was a little restricted (though 2 x vegetarian option was appreciated by my friend) and lacking in imagination. Serving staff were excellent and helped to make the evening memorable.

Really disappointed with afternoon tea yesterday. Didn’t get given tea until halfway through cakes and after sandwiches, was given the wrong teas, not given a strainer or any milk. Slow service with staff standing round not checking on guests.

2nd time taking afternoon tea and 2nd time disappointed. Sandwiches refrigerated so therefore very cold and served on a plate not a tier stand. Sandwiches split open on plate. 1 vegetarion requested but 2nd guest also served vegetarian. Cakes poor. Scones tiny and jam was like purée. Table was not cleared and we were there from 4:30 - 7:30 pm. Will not be returning

Was asked when we would like our champagne and said straight away but it was a while Had to ask twice for more tea Had a 2 for 1 offer which on the menu was priced at £30.95 but was charged £35 ,this was rectified when I pointed it out but should nt have happened in the first place

Only one latte spoon between 3 of us. Jug of water offered and accepted but no glasses given. Meet and greet excellent (Ryan). My father was put off by fellow guests partaking afternoon tea in robes, surely, there should be a seperate area for spa guests, or a dress code. People wandering through to a wedding fayre via the restaurant were off putting to staff and guests. Otherwise a very nice experience.

We had the afternoon tea for my wifes birthday. When the sandwiches came out to say it was a dissappointment would be an understatement. For the price i thought there would be more of a selection and more of a presentation instead of just being placed on a white plate. The hotel and spa was wonderful but For the price i paid i would of expected a little more.

The gluten tree option my wife had was clearly pre bought. Most restaurants freshly make the gf menu so that was disappointing as it wasn't great quality. Staff were lovely though

We had our sandwiches brought out and then had to ask for cakes.... we had to ask for milk for our tea... not very impressed considering it’s a very expensive upmarket hotel. We won’t be returning or recommending to anyone.

Unfortunately New Hall has lost some of its charm, a good few years ago I did a few afternoon tea and spa days, the rooms used (which are the same as now), were lovely, High Backed winged chairs, lovely sofas, dark wood tables, really in-keeping with the building, a record player that you could put a selection of records, board games, open fire with chairs around it, Now New Hall, has followed the rest of the afternoon ta bunch, Battery Hen packed tables, staff were nice, but never around, really lost its touch, wont bother again and could not recommend.
