About The Red Lion,Stevington
We are gaining a formidable reputation on the independent restaurant scene. Our robust, unpretentious dishes celebrate the seasons and showcase the talents of local and artisan producers. We allow the ingredients to do the talking, sourcing only the best produce including Cornish fish from Fish4Thought, cheese from Neal's Yard, Woburn roasts and eggs from Cackleberry Farm's pedigree flock. We make everything in house where possible, charging reasonable prices for outstanding food.
Amazing to have this place on our doorstep. From evening with friends to lunch with the kids, it covers everything with delicious food and friendly staff. Right in the middle of the village too, who needs the Cotswolds! Definitely recommend the Seafood Platter (shared it between a couple of us as a starter) and then Scallops and Risotto. Polished off with a few glasses from the wine list - perfect afternoon in the sun. Make sure you book a table :)
We always enjoy coming to the Red Lion for lunch. We will enjoy it even more when we can eat indoors ... Anna
So nice to get back out again and the staff at the Red Lion were so friendly and welcoming. Really lovely food. Great value.
Dining outside was freezing, no heaters, no blankets, no lights. Thankfully took our own blankets, still cold. Felt they really hadn’t made any effort at all to make it comfortable for diners. Main course fantastic, though served on a ridiculous chopping board. Fashion over function 🙄 . The very nice waitress brought us ‘side plates’ to transfer food to. Desert was awful. Creme brulee scrambled by overheating the too thick top sugar, ‘gingerbread’which didn't taste of ginger and had the texture of a farleys rusk with burnt bits obviously chopped off, tasteless chocolate icecream. Sticky toffee was good. Coffee good and very hot. Pudding was a huge let down to the excellent main dish.
Lovely pub and fantastic food!
We really enjoyed our meal at the Red Lion. Both main courses and desserts were delicious and well presented. The service was welcoming and we felt at ease in the friendly atmosphere. I would recommend eating here for a good, all round dining experience
Very friendly staff and Peggy always makes u feel welcome
Great service and great food
The team are so friendly and the atmosphere is jsut so relaxed and a really lovely place to be.
Absolutely brilliant we really enjoyed it and will be coming back again. Thank you for all you hard work and adherence to Covid19 regulations Best wishes from Pauline
The Red Lion is perfect for a drink or a great meal. I booked a table (outside at this point) for a Doombar with a friend, ended up having to try the amazing burgers I saw coming from the kitchen - I was not disappointed. A fantastic meal and great service.
Great Sunday lunch in a lovely garden. Friendly and helpful staff. Look forward to visiting again soon
Great to be back 😀👍
Nice to be back.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, food and service was EXCELLENT, also very friendly. We will definitely book again 👍🙂
Great pub - wonderful take out food. We’ve just moved into the village and it was great to sample the local pub!
Hidden treasure in Bedfordshire
Firstly, in the strange times that we're living in, there was a clear implementation and adherence to the Covid guidelines, making for a safe and comfortable experience. The service was very good, throughout our time there. We both had the 2 course special and if portion size is a key for you, then this is about spot on. Not too big that you leave food, but certainly enough to fill. We had the crispy pork belly and pate as starters, with the only feedback being that my wife felt that the cheese on the crouton wasn't necessary, given that it was already a "rich" dish. Venison and fish followed. The venison was well cooked (med rare) and well rested. For the fish then perhaps the tartare sauce could be a little more robust, particularly against the fishcake that contained the "stronger" hake. That said, this fishcake certainly had a higher fish to potato ratio than the usual. We'll definitely visit again.
Great meal loved the food and service was great Thank you and see you soon
What a lovely Sunday lunch - well worth a visit!
Fantastic meal in a great village location. The red lion offers locals and visitors alike a great place to eat and when the weather is good enough a lovely garden space to eat in.
Delicious meal on Friday night. So lovely to relax in a comfortable well-managed restaurant with excellent service. A much needed night out.
A great evening. Food was delicious and service was polite and attentive. I would highly recommend and will be coming back.
First visit and we loved it, we will definitely come back
