About The Red Lion at Milton Bryan
We are situated in the gorgeous Bedfordshire countryside located in a very small village called Milton Bryan.
Food is a big part of The Red Lion, We are firm believers in using local produce where possible, always fresh and prepared with care. We aim to offer a diversity of modern British cuisine along side more traditional pub classics. We move with the seasons so please be sure to come and try our latest menus and daily specials as they change throughout the year! We must mention that we have a fantastic selection of beers and wines too!
There is something for everyone on our wine list but if you are not sure then we are on hand to help! We offer cocktails using only premium spirits as well as non alcoholic cocktails and our Gin menu is amazing.
The team brings their vast experience and know-how, combined with their imaginative creative food and high standards of friendly service to offer a great experience every time you visit us.
We have a children’s menu available and we also offer many of our dishes from our Restaurant menu as children’s portions.
We also have a large garden to the side of the pub. Great for a drink or to enjoy a spot of lunch in the sun. Bring the kids and dogs as we’ve made sure its safe and secure.
Please let us know of any specific dietary requirements you may have and we will cater for your needs!
Thank you for your interest and we hope that we see you very soon at The Red Lion at Milton Bryan.

Lovely Roast dinner, beef cooked to order which is a lovely option. Lots of fresh delicious veg on the plate. Only two small slices of beef and two potatoes. I think maybe three of each would be better value for £16. Had pudding afterwards, apple crumble again slightly smaller than you’d expect for £6. But maybe because it was so delicious I wanted more! Nice to have the option of ice cream or custard with puddings in the future? Doesn’t have to be homemade custard.
We had an excellent meal within a calm relaxed environment. This, however, was somewhat spoilt as a group of 8 persons came and sat near us talking extremely loudly which did make it more difficult to listen to our own conversations. Whilst I understand how difficult it is for you to moderate the loudness of others conversations you should also be aware that it does have an impact on other customer's experience.
Lovely Sunday lunch. We will be back
Very friendly, lovely place to eat with friends
Always enjoy it here, whether a quick pint, in with the dog or as this last tome was, date night! :-)
Lovely restaurant with great food & service
Lovely young lad served us couldn’t do enough for us
The menu was so varied and appealing we struggled to make our choices. The food was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. Having visited a nearby eatery in the same price range there was no comparison. The Red Lion was far superior for its quality and range of food.
We had a lovely evening, great food (including a wide range of Gluten free choices) we will rebook for our next get together.
Great Food and Great Service. Highly recommended
Really enjoyed our lunch with you yesterday. Excellent menu and advice on our choices. Thank you
Warm friendly atmosphere in a great location. Great staff..
The food was lovely but service was not very good had to wait over 30 minutes for our starter, which came with the sharing breads. There was not enough people serving on the evening of the 5th January 2019. More staff needed. I cannot fault the food and the steak was cooked perfectly.
The food here is always very good but service has let it down. Last nights meal was again great but the one thing that excelled was the service - bravo
We have been here loads of times and always delivers. The location is lovely, idealic and as it is off the beaten track, magical.
Great food!! We had two burgers for the burger night and they are the bets burgers i have ever had!! Great service and atmosphere
Not as good as usual
the bar area can get a little cramped which makes ordering drinks difficult. Seating in the bar area could be better organised to make use of the space.
The masala lamb was very nice although rather too spicy and hot.
Recommended to me by a friend so treated my parents to New Years Day lunch, beautiful setting. My parents were impressed, food was excellent. Coming back will be an easy decision to make.
Always a good experience coming to the Red Lion. Cosy in the winter and lovely to sit outside in the Summer. Varied menu with something for everyone.
We were here on Christmas Day and we were disappointed. We paid £75 each for three courses. Starter I would go as far to say was disgusting and I did not eat it, it was smoked salmon with onion which was a very weird combination with very salty crisp bread which I couldn’t eat and it had a raw egg yolk on top which was not described on the menu as raw, it actually made me feel sick, they came and took my plate and I was not offered an alternative. My husband chose off the menu as there was nothing he liked and he was given a prawn cocktail with the shells still on the prawns so had to break of with his fingers which in a prawn cocktail is awkward and a weird thing to do. I have to say that the main course was delicious with the turkey being very moist and the creamed swede to die for. The desert was nice also although I did not get my choice but did not say anything and just ate it. We thought for £75 we should have had a glass of wine with the meal and all set meals offer a coffee at the end and we didn’t even get that, I know that eating out on Christmas Day is never going to be cheap but we did not think this was value for money and if you are going to put a raw egg on something then advertise it as so, you’re also playing a very risky game with raw eggs. Would I eat there again? Definitely it is a beautiful place and the normal menu food is lovely, I would maybe even go back on Christmas Day but I would ask if I could just have the main and then eat a pudding back at home. This was our first time eating out on Christmas Day and we found it dissappointing.
The only reason for the 3 stars on the service was because of the wait for food. There was a particularly large table who had ordered just before us. I felt the children's menu was over priced. Everything food wise was lovely however.
I had the rib eye steak which wasn’t very good, whilst I know that rib eye does have some fat running through there was a lot of fat. I also asked fir it to be medium rare and part of it was and the other part medium, at £26 I don’t think it was worth it. Everyone else however had clean plates on our table!
good food,, pleasant waiters, prompt service
