Great Sunday evening meal with family! Love the new back garden.
Delicious food and drink and great service! We will be back!
Delicious food, great atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff.
It was a very busy Thursday evening, I think the service was stretched to the limit but the team were always polite, professional and happy to help. Food was great, wine excellent and atmosphere, loud chatty and lively.
Great food. Very professional gastropub,
Just about one of the best meals I have ever had at a pub. The jerk chicken is sublime, as are the tomato and haloumi appetizer. All of the food was delicious!
Very decent gastro-pub with good selection of wines, superb food and nice service. One of the best roasts available.
This was our first visit. We will certainly return. We were very pleased with the quality of the food and wine, the range of choice and the excellent service.
Your feather blade steak and chips used to be so nice but no longer. My hunk of meat was not cooked much beyond blue and it was largely inedible with gristly bits and was so tough. The waitress did take the cost of it off our menu but it was disappointing to say the least. Used to be better when it was well cooked and sliced. My husband and sons also felt the steak was a rough hunk of meat. You need to re-look at this dish and refine it.
Hi Ms Trow, We're sorry to read that you didn't enjoy your steak. The watiress could see you didn't eat it when clearing the table. She had a converstation with you and that is the reason she took it off the bill. After speaking to Karine the watiress just now, you told here the other 3 steaks were fine? We do not normally slice the Feather-blade steaks unless the customers ask. If you do order a feather-blade steak again and would like it sliced please ask. In the meantime I will be speaking to the butcher and our head chef about the quality. Hopefully we see you again soon. All the best, Heath
Quality of food, as well as the service are always first class at The Red Lion and Sun. It's clearly one of the best pubs in London, thanks to its expansive wine list, varied menu and attentive staff that ensure your experience is second to none.
Excellent food and service
Fantastic pub - delicious vegan options including a chocolate 'ice-cream' + vegan wines labelled. Really well thought out and excellent service and atmosphere
Absolutely amazing food! Portion sizes were such value for money and the quality so tasty. We only had one main course each and that was honestly enough. We were staying in the area for the weekend but if I visit again I will definitely be coming here for food and making room for a desert next time. Already recommended the place to a heap of people. Great service too.
Food is a bit expensive but really good and staff are very friendly. The roast dinner portion sizes are a bit big - would prefer less for less and then you could also have a dessert! It is a really nice place but more like a restaurant than a pub - I don't think you'd go there just for a drink, but once again, a really great place to go to eat, as food is great. I also really appreciate how dog friendly it is!
Just a little disappointed with the food, amazing menu choice, and looked forward to the food, just the flavours didn’t deliver. We will be back for a relaxed dinner after a Sunday walk, but wouldn’t book as a special meal. I hope this is constructive criticism! The service was wonderful.
Apart that I don't think that a place where food is served dogs should be allowed, the pub is a nice place to have dinner with your friends.
The Red Lion and Sun always delivers with excellent food, wines and service. I had a delicious meal with my parents, a lovely evening. The Apremont Savoie White was exquisite! Thank you to Heath and all the team.
Great place for relaxed eating
Atmosphere great and food generally good. The crab starter and roast beef got the thumbs up, but the lamb was too dry and the meal desperately needed a small jug of gravy. The apple crumble portion was way too big and only came with a tiny pot of custard, which wasn't enough. Apart from that we had a good time.
Most amazing roast in London!! Food wine and especially the cauliflower cheese was amazing!! Will definitely be coming again x
Lovely pub, delicious food
Absolutely fantastic! Great wine list. The Halibut was soft yet firm and tasted as if it had just been caught. The skin was crispy and was the perfect foil to the wilted spinach. Washed down with an Albariño. A great dish served by lovely, attentive staff, for £20ish! Fab fab fab!!! Thank you
Lovely birthday dinnerv
A very enjoyable meal. The only downside, as mentioned to our waiter, was the calves' liver which, although it was perfectly cooked, was blathered in a very strong and almost viscous sauce which rather swamped the flavour.
Came for late Sunday lunch got sat next to toilet because of our dog then moved thankfully. Food was average for Sunday lunch price 20% above average for same dishes. Mystified by the lamb confit which turned out to be slivers of lamb pressed together over salted and too dry, note to myself don’t book late Sunday lunch, potatoes were also reheated, wine was good and deserts very big, apple crumble with apples undercooked and creme caramel too runny.
Hi Larisa, thank you for the feeback. Sorry about the moving around when you arrived. Your dog is very large and we are small pub so we have to make sure we are able to get to tables etc. Sorry you didn't enjoy your food. It's very rare we get complaints about our roasts. I know you were uspet at the first table you were sat I hope that didn't cast a shaddow over your meal. We hope if you do visit again we meet your expectations. Kind regards, Heath
