About The Rectory Hotel
The Rectory Hotel's restaurant serves British food with a modern touch, simplicity which over delivers.
We had scallops and also the ham hock for starters followed by the Beef Wellington for two people, my gosh it was delicious. We were very full but made room for an apple sorbet which was very refreshing.
Just wonderful! We were so impressed with the food, the service, the ambience and the relaxing interior decor of The Rectory. Thank you
we loved our nights stay at the hotel and really enjoyed the dining experience. the food was lovely and the service excellent. highly recommend booking a table in the glasshouse as it's such a nice room & atmosphere. we're already planning our next trip! if you can stay over and have breakfast - it's worth it, best hotel breakfast we've ever had. special shout out to front of house who drove us to the train station when our taxi failed to show - saved us a lot of travel issues! thank you.
Food and service was just excellent.
We enjoyed an excellent meal. The staff were warm and friendly and the service was attentive without being over bearing. Would definitely recommend to friends and will look forward to dining at the Rectory again.
Great service, pork was chewy. Best course was desert. Enjoyed our valentines treat, but at £50 per person for 3 courses the food needs to be pretty special and it didn’t hit that mark for us.
Another fantastic little lunch - thank you
Fantastic food, staff are lovely and attentive. The hotel itself is very peaceful and calm
What a lovely find! Lovely peaceful location. We were welcomed wth a smile on check-in, our room as described, was spacious and beautifully furnished! Young but extremely welcoming and attentive restaurant staff ... AND dinner was superb! The hotel has undergone a beautiful refurbishment and the Gardens are well cared for! We will definitely return. There is is no signage on the front entrance... if arriving in the dark just keep an eye on the satnav! We will return!
Great food and service. Will be coming again!
Great venue for a business linch
Both the starter and main I ordered had sold out. I was then told the main fish had been replaced with halibut but when I tried to order that was then told the halibut had sold out and was replaced with cod (but there was no change in price).
We had a lovely stay and hope to come back soon. The service was super, very attentive and breakfast amazing! Dinner lovely both in Potting Shed and The Rectory. Only negative was the mattress was a little too firm in room 16.
Excellent all round. Great place for a break and/or a party
We had a great Sunday lunch for my husbands birthday. The staff were lovely and professional. Couldn’t fault the food it was delicious and plenty of it. Will definitely be returning.
We were fortunate to be staying overnight in the hotel and choose to dine in the hotel. The overall ambiance of the hotel is very conducive to switching off and feeling ‘at home’, we were immediately made to feel very comfortable. Having ordered a couple of drinks from the bar (I’d forgotten how much I love Brookmans Gin), we were seated in a cosy alcove off the drawing room. The menu choice was superb and food delicious. We look forward to finding an excuse for a weekend away soon!! All of your team we interacted with were great – keep up the good work!! Thank You
thank you for a great afternoon tea experience, The crab sandwich was delicious, the offer of making cucumber ones much appreciated, the scones excellent and there was plenty of them. The atmosphere was cosy and quiet by the fire and the staff outstanding. Especially Josh was very attentive and informative. We are looking forward to returning for dinner next. MAny thanks
very cool place,great staff,shall re-visit
Our second stay at this lovely, welcoming hotel. Fantastic service and a wonderful place for a relaxing and luxurious break
A family lunch marred by poor service.Asked 3 times for water.Drink coasters thrown to use like frizzbees , had to ask for dessert spoons, they came in a bundle in the center of the table for us to collect.I thought this was a high end hotel ,you get better service in The potting Shed. So the £15 tip on my bill was not deserved.I have been before and had a great time. Hope this is a one off.
Superb food, great surroundings & service that is second to none!
