About The Rectory Hotel
The Rectory Hotel's restaurant serves British food with a modern touch, simplicity which over delivers.
It’s tough to fault this place. We come there often and are always pleased with the experience. I think the best part of that it’s clear that the staff want you to have a good experience (and of course the good food).
We were so in love with the rectory when we arrived, having a lovely drink in your beautiful courtyard and then being sat to dinner. We watched as everyone else had bread delivered to their table and we did not. The food was lovely and really impressive however I was put off my main when a short brown hair was found in my mouth. I quickly told a waiter discreetly about this and he replied "maybe it is yours, our chef is bald". I have long blonde hair so I think this highly unlikely. I did not appreciate how I was spoken to or the fact I wasnt able to eat the fairly expensive main course we were still asked to pay for.
Beautiful Hotel, Stunning gardens excellent service and the food was a taste sensation.
We celebrated my wife's 60th birthday at the hotel with a large party. The food, service and organisation were superb. Thank you.
We stayed in room 4 for two nights dining once with the hotel and once with the potting shed. Unfortunately the potting shed didn't live up to all the reviews we read before booking it and we were really disappointed that we dined there one of our nights instead of two nights at the hotel restaurant. The hotel restaurant is far superior to the potting shed with very warm & welcoming staff, fantastic food and a lovely intimate atmosphere. Highly recommended.
We had lunch in the conservatory - it was a lovely experience, the food was delicious, service impeccable and coffee outside in the peaceful, beautiful gardens was the icing on the cake.
Our fourth visit and as delightful as ever. Always lots to choose from the menu and the food is always even better than we expect. Lovely place and atmosphere. Can't fault it. Our favourite venue by far for special occasions.
Consistently fabulous our favourite place to eat!
Dining staff excellent. Bar staff not so good. Good atmosphere and pleasant environment
Dining at 'The Rectory' has to be a special treat for us but can't think of anywhere else locally that I would rather go to.
Had the set Sunday lunch menu and the food was absolutely delicious. A really beautiful place to spend an afternoon. Thank you.
We would definitely go back to The Rectory for meals although I'll be honest, we had to Google some words from your menu as we had no idea what they were. We did ask our server what some of them were but we felt a bit foolish in repeatedly asking them. Google came to our rescue if we couldn't work it out between us. I Wouldn't recommend your Birthday cake to my friends, because of the following reasons. 1) The Birthday cake was too rich, it gave myself and my husband blinding headaches which lasted through out the day after eating it. Sadly we couldn't risk our young son eating this so we had to throw it away. 2)The style for the Birthday cake message was messy and amateurish in its presentation, so it was a let down for me on the night considering it cost me £20. 3) A am disappointed that the cake was a brownie chocolate mix instead of the plain chocolate sponge cake I requested. In the end I had to buy another chocolate Birthday cake to replace yours for my family to enjoy the next day. The Birthday cake really let your establishment down, which is why you rate lower for me on the food and recommendation. This is a shame as the other food we ate on the night was excellent.
A really delicious supper, brilliant staff and a very happy evening.
This is my favourite special place to dine. The food is always fabulous, the atmosphere is just right and the service is great
Our 4th visit to the Rectory and it won’t be our last. The hotel is beautifully decorated with so much attention to detail. It’s always a special treat to stay here. The staff couldn’t do more for you and the food and cocktails are hard to beat.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful, staff were extremely helpful and every meal we had was absolutely delicious. We absolutely loved our stay here and will definitely be recommending it. Our only tiny issue was the last nights sleep as it was incredibly hot in our room (10) as it is at the top so maybe a fan would help with the unusually hot summer but that was our only issue.
The bar was not at all relaxing - constant throwing of bottles in a crate in a small room. Not enough waiting or bar staff on the night we were there. Lovely hotel building and grounds and excellent food and good selection of wines by the glass.
Lovely food and friendly, courteous and knowledgeable staff.
Wonderful Sunday lunch on a beautiful sunny day at the amazing Rectory 😊
Brilliant sunday lunch yet again and wonderful service
We had a wonderful stay in your beautiful hotel. Thank you .
This is the third time we have visited The Rectory and we love this place! It’s a lovely hotel and the food is excellent. Would definitely come back in an instant.
Can't rate the experience any more highly. Such a magical formula... Though always reluctant to share too much about how good it is.. as we want to keep it all to ourselves! Will return again soon. Thank you to Harrison and the team for making the day so memorable.
Lovely hotel in the Cotswolds, attracts an "in the know" crowd. The cocktails and food are both to a London standard and the breakfast spread is lavish. The attic rooms are on the smaller side so if possible go with one of the large categories.
I have stayed here before under previous managements and I think that this current owner/management is to be congratulated. The refurbishment is well done and the staff are lovely. I think this is a lovely space in which to stay.
