About The Rectory Hotel
The Rectory Hotel's restaurant serves British food with a modern touch, simplicity which over delivers.
Absolutely sensational Sunday lunch. Really delicious, faultless food which felt like we were getting even more than our monies worth. Delightful service from all the staff. We’ll be back ASAP.
Beautiful evening dinner
Stunning, I love the rectory, the atmosphere, the food is beautiful, the staff are friendly and very attentive.
Lovely meal in a beautiful setting.
Fantastic spot, whether you’re staying at the hotel or local.
Great food with a wonderful room
Very lovely and beautiful place to stay! Delicious food, beautiful garden and lots to explore both in nature and shops near the hotel! Nevertheless, very kind staff! We will be back!
Superb meal with a variety of flavours and pleasant, courteous staff throughout the hotel who were all happy to help make it a relaxing, enjoyable stay.
Brilliant venue and fantastic staff a joy to go
My wife and I went to the Rectory restaurant on 26 October. At first all went well: we were welcomed and served by attentive staff and the food was good although nothing special. However once a large party arrived at their table and several other smaller groups started their meals we were virtually ignored, particularly after we had finished our main course. These other guests received lavish attention. We were not served a second glass of wine we had asked for (prior to the main course) and we were not offered the sweet menu. After sitting at our table for half an hour without anyone coming near us despite our trying to attract attention, we had to get up from our table and seek out a member of staff to ask for the bill. Even then we were left standing for 10 minutes until another member of staff asked us what we needed. We received a cursory apology. Part of the problem appeared to be that no one seemed to be responsible for our table and we were not served by any member of the staff more than once – clearly the staff do not communicate about the needs of each table. We won’t be going to the Rectory again which is a pity because we live in the village and like to support local businesses.
Wonderful food and incredible service. Cocktails were fantastic as well. We will definitely be going back!
Very nice food, great cocktails , beautifully arranged dining area. Wine list could do with a bit of work. In the final assessment - it’s only opinion but - All in all a very pleasant experience.
Overall a very enjoyable Afternoon Tea with my three adult daughters. A great venue and relaxing atmosphere for us catch up with each other.
Dinner was very good but breakfast was spoilt by some very odd things. Cereal bowls far too big and side plates the size of saucers. Marmalade in a large jar but no small dishes or ramekins to decant it into. Finally everyone was squeezing past the lemon trees at each end of the breakfast table.
We can’t wait to come again!
Really lovely Sunday lunch - I would highly recommend it
Really lovely food in a beautiful dining room. Great service.
You performed a charming component of our wedding anniversary weekend celebrations. On overhearing our conversation, the chocolate 'amuse bouche' with our coffee was very thoughtful. Thank you for a delightful lunch.
I like the Rectory - great food, relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Good enough wine list and excellent cocktails.
We had a lovely relaxed Sunday lunch. the food was excellent both in quality and quantity.. very relaxed atmosphere in the garden room, and the service was good. my only issue is the complete lack of signage, both on the entrance from the road and then once you have entered onto the drive, there is nothing to assure you your in the right place , ie sign to Hotel entrance or restaurant etc..
I organised a 70th birthday 'do' at the Rectory. It was excellent from start to finish. The 'front of house' manager was exemplary in making arrangements; the staff serving us were excellent throughout and the food was very, very good. The venue itself was also perfect for us. All in all - a day I am sure my wife will remember.
We pre-booked with a warning that of a glutton allergy. We were presented with 2 options on the evening, 1 of which happened to be the most expensive dish on the menu. Disappointing and left without eating.
Excellent afternoon. Great food and great service. Thanks!
The Rectory allows you to be formal or informal whatever the occasion. The service is good and the young staff are very helpful. The menu has a small selection but I prefer this, less complicated and my meal was well presented and very tasty. The dining room or conservatory are well set out and relaxed.
