About The Rectory
Our British menu takes influence from all four corners of the British Isles, embracing ideas and techniques from Victorian London dining to 70’s retro steak houses, the great British seaside holiday and remote Derbyshire villages where we found long lost family recipes.
I did request a booth when booking over the phone. When we arrived the staff had no idea of this. It worked out OK because it was not busy and one of the booths was still available. The food was ok but no more. The staff serving us were very good.
Fab mother’s day lunch. Superb food and great service. We all commented on how we would be visiting again. Thanks!
Everyone enjoyed the meal but the 3 people who had the bird and the beast think it was meant more for 2 people rather than 3.
The rectory is a lovely place to eat and the food is really nice. Only a few things that let it down when we went. The service was a bit slow in between eating, dessert and paying. Maybe few more staff needed at peak times. The condiment sizes as well are really poor, asked for sauces and got a tiny pot for 3 people also had to ask for more gravy as again only one small pot for 3 people. However these are things that can be improved on and wouldn’t stop me from going.
Really enjoyed Mothers Day. We were at the end of the bar area, as took the dog. Food portions were massive and very tasty. Very attentive staff. Michelle
Fabulous as always
any comments or feedback
We were waiting a long time for our food to arrive but it was nice when it came out.
Great food staff and atmosphere however don’t know what happened this time as a very long wait on food but normally amazing service . Probs a different chef on that day but we will be back again.
The food, service and atmosphere are all great here. It's wonderful to find somewhere that serves such great food and has such good service. We never have any complaints at all when we visit. Thank you
Amazing food & great atmosphere, will definitely return soon.
We had a really great night. It was a party booking for 20+. The buffet was great. The green room was perfect. And Jade looked after us so well. Even popped party music on for us!
We had pre booked to be seated in a booth, however on arrival we were given a table instead. Not what we wanted, but it was ok. The Sunday Roast meals we had were really nice, with more than we needed on the plate.
Lunch with my dad and sister - the food was delicious and plentiful with a variety of food for every appetite. The décor was unique from the snug area, to the confession box, to the dining area, to the crockery. The service was fantastic - the serving staff were attentive and friendly. We will defiantly visit again.
Nacho overload sharer was amazing, never had homemade nachos from a pub before, very impressed. Fish finger sandwich however was greasy and the crispy lamb wrap needed a LOT more yoghurt, was very dry. Drinks as always were fab and the venue itself is ace.
Food was lovely and good value for money. Appreciate being contacted to pre-order our food for our pre-booked tea time table as due to the place having a busy lunch time they we're running out of things.
Contracted by the staff earlier in the day to pre order roast lunches to ensure we had choices available. Very good service. Also good standard of service during the meal. Friendly and relaxed. Children made welcome.
Had a fab time, great atmosphere and interior design!
Food was amazing, staff extremely friendly and accommodating, great night.
Food was delicious. Staff were very accommodating. Some confusion over deposit paid, but rectified very quickly. All in all a good time was had by everyone. Thank you!
Food was fantastic only little issue I encountered was that didn’t receive codimemt or steak knife which resulted in me leaving my table twice to fetch these other than this everything else was great
Enjoyable evening as usual
I just thought it was all round fabulous. I love the ambience - how you’ve kept the spiritual roots of the building and created a really welcoming, cosy, historical but contemporary dining experience. The food was great and amazing value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful and children felt completely welcome so pretty much 100% all round!
I generally really like the Rectory, the £5 lunch menu is particularly good value for money. This time I ordered from the main menu (jerk chicken nuggets), but I was surprised that there were only 4 nuggets. I thought this wasn’t a great portion size considering that I paid £10.99. I don’t like to complain, so didn’t say anything at the time and normally the meals are very good.
Excellent food and service as always.
