About The Rectory
Our British menu takes influence from all four corners of the British Isles, embracing ideas and techniques from Victorian London dining to 70’s retro steak houses, the great British seaside holiday and remote Derbyshire villages where we found long lost family recipes.
Enjoyable evening as usual
I just thought it was all round fabulous. I love the ambience - how you’ve kept the spiritual roots of the building and created a really welcoming, cosy, historical but contemporary dining experience. The food was great and amazing value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful and children felt completely welcome so pretty much 100% all round!
I generally really like the Rectory, the £5 lunch menu is particularly good value for money. This time I ordered from the main menu (jerk chicken nuggets), but I was surprised that there were only 4 nuggets. I thought this wasn’t a great portion size considering that I paid £10.99. I don’t like to complain, so didn’t say anything at the time and normally the meals are very good.
Excellent food and service as always.
Everyone knows i love it ive had some really great times this year many thanks Chrys
The Rectory is a great place for a nice lunch or party. The Christmas menu was great and good value!
We had a little private function, all in the party really enjoyed it, this was just what we wanted. The staff looked after us making sure everything was right. We had a little issue, and the group were in two minds if to mention it, but decided to point it out, when we did, this was rectified immediately. Fantastic staff, great venue, lovely atmosphere. Thanks to all at The Rectory
Service was excellent. However, it could have been a quicker process to pay the bill. Food was good although some of our table didn't enjoy and eat all of our courses. The Chocolate Orange Brownie in particular was far too sickly with too much chocolate sauce.
Had our Christmas lunch at The Rectory. All 11 of us ordered different items off the menu & food arrived quickly & was lovely. Will definitely return, thanks to all the staff as well, very friendly.
Took my team from work for a meal. All of the food was served piping hot , together and everything was delicious. The staff could not have been more helpful. I booked this as a result of a good personal experience, I will definitely be using The Rectory again. Well done guys and keep doing what you are doing
A fabulous place with great food, great service and just a great place to be, thank you for a lovely experience
Lovely meal, booked for 12 people pre ordered the menu choices. The managers Rebecca and Jade were very helpful! Really nice atmosphere, would recommend
Lovely atmosphere, very good food, waitress service was good but the only drawback was we waited an hour for our food to arrive
Tasty tho expensive
The only issue was that we ordered a side of hallumi but we were served mozerella. It was still very nice though.
Great food, helpful friendly staff and service. Had Sunday lunch for 4 will definitely be visiting again. Good sized portions and value for money.
There was plenty of choice on the menu. The food was wonderful, would definitely come back again. We went on Friday night and used the 20% off voucher which made it even better.
Had a lovely meal, loved the way the cheese board was presented.
We were all impressed with the food and the half price cocktails!! we will be returning very soon to sample different things on the menu thanks
As always everything makes this place from the staff Beck and Jade plus the other girls too . Great atmosphere and quality food and drink . You couldn’t ask for anything more
Lovely food & great atmosphere
Great friendly staff, great place, great food.
Very impressed with first visit for a business meeting; our waitress was friendly and helpful, and extremely patient - even though we delayed giving her our food order as we were busy talking and hadn't looked at the menus yet! Speaking of which, there really is something to suit every taste and budget, from the lunch menu to pub classics, vegetarian options and an intriguing twist on a (beer can?!) burger! We only had mains and to be honest I wasn't tempted by the starters anyway - which is just as well since the portions are plentiful and definitely value for money. I hope to visit again soon!
Great staff, very friendly and helpful - my family loved the burgers and pies and the rhubarb Eton Mess was a real winner.....
Great place, lovely food and polite, friendly staff. Also loved the bathroom, especially the jokes in there.
