About The Rectory
Our British menu takes influence from all four corners of the British Isles, embracing ideas and techniques from Victorian London dining to 70’s retro steak houses, the great British seaside holiday and remote Derbyshire villages where we found long lost family recipes.
Due to the current situation and social distancing measures in place, tables will only be allocated a 2 hour slot per booking. Booked tables will be given up after 15 minutes if none of the party has arrived and we haven't been notified prior.
Great pub, felt safe in the fact that social distance was in place and plenty of hand sanitiser was available.
Great meal. Brilliant service.
Starter a bit over priced, main lovely. Real ale bang on
Always use the Rectory, favourite pub in chesterfield.

Excellent service and Sunday lunch. Very friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere.
A fabulous roast Sunday lunch, lovely atmosphere and service 😊
Came for Sunday lunch for my birthday. The food and service were both impeccable!
Excellent service and very pleasant staff
It was really busy, drinks were a little slow but daughter had a cocktail so probably why. The service was quick the food delicious. Will be going again. Would definately recommend booking though.
We hired the green room for a small party and it was absolutely ideal. We wanted somewhere that served good real ale and good food and the Rectory certainly delivered and exceeded our expectations on both fronts. The service was wonderful too, we really couldn't fault anything, it was fantastic - thank you to all the Rectory team, you're amazing!!
Great pub, would definitely recommend
A 45 minute minute wait for food but was advised of a 30 wait when ordering. Appreciate food is cooked from fresh and was great when it arrived. Maybe a interim visit from a waitress to advise food is running late would be appreciated by customers.
Wonderful as always
service was faster this year … big improvement
Christmas party- We generally had a good time, and we liked the sunug area. We weren't going to be given our offer of 2 cocktails for £10, until i complained to the manager. The chips didn't look too appealing, and most were left. the pizza's were too thin and quite rispy, and cheddar used, not mozzarella. Overall though, all of us had a good time.
Service from the waitress was really good when she was bringing us our food.....but the only down side there was not enough bar staff on to cope with the amount of customers, so we found ourselves queuing up to get drinks and then our food was cold as we were a long time at the bar. We ended up asking the waitress to get us some drinks, which she did but she was really busy with other customers. We would have bought a lot more drinks if it had been easier to get them. The food was amazing so credit to all staff from the bottom to the top for a great night.....highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️
