About The Rectory
Our British menu takes influence from all four corners of the British Isles, embracing ideas and techniques from Victorian London dining to 70’s retro steak houses, the great British seaside holiday and remote Derbyshire villages where we found long lost family recipes.
Excellent pub, great atmosphere and the staff are very attentive. Highly recommend.
We love the Rectory. Food is always fabulous especially the Sunday lunch. We travel quite a distance to get there but it is well worth it
Reserved online and got the table and time I requested no problem. Great. Drinks and service was fab although the pub may have been busy with drinkers etc, it took a bit longer than expected to serve our food. However, when served, the food was amazing. I love this place and will definitely return time and time again. This was our second 'works' do here and we will return as we have never been disappointed with the quality and quantity of food.
Sunday dinners are amazing and go quite often, waited quite a while for the food and no one came to see if we was ok or needed more drinks which we did so had to sort ourselves at the bar, apart from that good as always
Service was a little longer than normal due to high custom but there's nothing the staff could do about that. Everything was 10/10. Super friendly staff, great food. Will definitely be back.
Extremely good food and customer service.
The menu had changed since we made the booking but we still found plenty of choice, and Homity pie was still on! First visit for our friends who commented on the great homemade chips........
Everyone really enjoyed their food but unfortunately my steak in my sandwich was tough
Fabulous evening spent at the rectory Excellent service, very quick and nothing was too much trouble Cocktails delicious, and good variety added bonus two 4 £10 Staff so friendly and Food...reasonable price, Piping hot and lots of it Definitely would recommend and we would return Thanks for an enjoyable evening
Lovely as usual really enjoyed our food the staff are always so welcoming best place to eat in Chesterfield
Food was fantastic, the staff were friendly and chatty and extremely helpful. I love the rectory, it has a lovely atmosphere and the gin festival was enjoyable!
I was absolutely ecstatic when I arrived on a Sunday 5th May for the do following my daughters christening! The staff are extremely polite and thorough, especially Rebecca and the new assistant manager, the quality of food and the way it was all displayed was outstanding and I couldn’t fault it. The whole team ended the day on a high and I would highly recommend! A thank you card will be coming your way :)
Excellent pub in the center of Chesterfield. Always warm and welcoming, clean and friendly. Great food and drink selection. Would highly recommended
Overall I really like the Rectory, but I found the chicken burger to be very dry and wasn’t presented very well. A fairly large tray made the portion look smaller than it was, a little more lettuce, sauce etc would really help!
This was a return trip for us. Myself and my 8 year old boys love the friendly service and food - especially the bird and the beast roast! The Yorkshire pudding is epic. Even on a busy mothers day the service and food were excellent. I couldn't manage a desert but the boys polished off a Mars bar cheesecake and Toblerone icecream and said it was delicious. We will come back again soon Dawn & the twins x
We really enjoyed the food and the staff were very friendly didn't feel rushed at all like some other places
Had a fantastic family meal at The Rectory. From start to finish the staff were helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was great, good portion sizes and value for money.
Good service, great Sunday lunch
Lovely place, lovely staff and gorgeous interiors. The food was fantastic and we’ll definitely be back again!
Fantastic food and great staff that always seem happy and have a bit of banter. Already planned another visit.
Great food, lovely atmosphere & very friendly staff. Will definitely return again.
The staff were lovely but some items of food on the lunch menu were average and although i would go back to the rectory i wouldnt order the same bits again
Bit annoyed that we’d all decided on our food and only on ordering the chicken did the waitress tell us there wasn’t any!! Should have been pointed out when she gave us the menus! Burgers very average - quite dry! Nachos amazing.
We love your pubs, we often visit The Exeter and more recently The Devonshire in Belper. We thought we would try The Rectory for Sunday Lunch as we love your other pubs. My starter was delicious i had the garlic mushrooms. My boyfriend had the squid he said it was very good but he thought he could of had a little more squid. The Sunday roast was delicious, we both had beef. The service was fantastic, staff were very attentive, the pub decor was great, i love that about your pubs its very quirky and stylish. The beer was well kept. I would recommend to eat and drink here. Great food and drink at reasonable prices. The best in Derbyshire. Please open more pubs
