About The Ram Inn
The Ram Inn boasts three separate dining rooms, each with its own individual character. If you wish to enjoy your lunch or dinner with 'restaurant feel' surroundings, the courtroom is the best suited room.
Our Snug and Bar dining areas are perfect for those wishing to get involved with the hustle and bustle of the village, getting amongst the locals and the walkers, in abundance, and don't mind a friendly dog nearby. Our Bar area however, is not for little ones, therefore please be sure to book a table in either the Snug or Courtroom if dining with children.
We are pleased to announce that we are also now taking bookings in both of our gardens. The Ram Inn beach sits outside the front of the building where we serve our full menu of hot dishes including Sunday roasts. Alternatively, enjoy our peaceful flint-walled garden where, on sunny days, we serve a different menu of wood-fired and bbq dishes.
Despite being outside on a less than balmy day, the experience was great and service warm to make up for the grey weather.
Fantastic pub, really enjoyable lunch. Luckily no rain as we have to eat outside.
Food fantastic and service excellent !
Excellent service matched only by the food.
Lovely post walk lunch, great food and excellent service. A joy to be out and highly recommended
considering chilly evening covid outdoor dinning, okay.
Excellent as always.
Our table was on the roadside half out of the sun and it was windy, so we felt a bit cold.
Perfect lunch in glorious sun at the Ram. Lovely light bits and great “garden” mocktail. Will be back!
Excellent food, as usual, and a lovely place. The service was very slow as they were really busy and there didn't seem to be many staff. They did well, but were rushed off their feet.
Delicious food and great service at the Ram this Sunday. The staff were very accommodating to ensure everyone there for food or just a drink could be seated and served to meet COVID requirements. Great atmosphere.
Lovely garden setting and plenty to like about the menu. We had booked ahead, which was necessary as it was very busy and there was some confusion about where we were to sit. Staff were a little slow to help. However, it didn't spoil the visit and we'll definitely be back and recommend it to others.
excellent lunch in lovely locsation, good helful and friendly stawff
Hi, I have been to the Ram countless times over the years however I can’t sadly see myself returning anytime soon. We arrived on time and were shown our table and given menus. We waited around 20 minutes before anyone came to take our drinks orders. I was also told that Becks was the only beer available on draught, even though when my friend ordered a Guinness that was fine? We waited for another 20 minutes before anyone came to take our food order. May I add that the staff were polite through our whole experience. Another 20 minutes went by before our starters arrived. When they did we have no cutlery so waited a further 5 minutes whilst our food got cold. The starters were all ok. The ham hock was particularly good. A waiter came and took away half of the plates and once again all of our cutlery. When our mains arrived once again we had no cutlery? So once again our food was cold. My friend sent back her roast beef as it was totally inedible and I’ve never seen roast beef look like that! The waiter also said he had another sent back earlier in the day. My wife ordered a few small plates but her salad didn’t come.. She asked for it and a further 10 minutes later when all of our food was finished. When her salad did arrive it was the wrong one.. The waiter apologised and took it off the bill. Overall it was a very underwhelming experience and a shame as it was our first meal out since restrictions have been lifted. I am unsure of how things will be for you guys when the inside open up next week but it’s a shame as I’ve been to the Ram many times and always been very happy.
Normally I absolutely love coming to the Ram, but yesterday wasn’t great. The sirloin steak was relatively expensive and the portion size was pretty measly. One of our party also had a mix up with their soup which they had to wait for for ages and then turned up with normal bread and not gluten free as requested. They have an allergy (not just a dietary preference) which should be treated really seriously and it was really negligent. The waitress we asked said it didn’t say gluten free on the order so it had not been requested- essentially blamed us, when we all heard gf being requested when we ordered. Overall not the best and such a shame as you’re usually my top recommendation for a pub lunch and it was also my birthday so felt a bit more disappointing
We were bitterly disappointed. £56 for a medium glass of wine, a pint of lager and two meals is extortionate. My fillet of hake was half a fillet, the smallest portion I’ve ever been served, with a handful of green beans and 4 new potatoes cut in half. My husband’s steak was about 40% inedible fat so we both both left hungry. We were only there 40 minutes and couldn’t wait to leave. I did mention this to the waitress and her response was “oh ok” We only live up the road and used to visit regularly but we will definitely not be returning.
Beef with chewy. Very little potato on roast. Toast to start was cold
It was so good to eat outside again at the Ram and be among other people! The food was delicious. We had to wait a bit of time between the starters and the main but sure this is just a little teething thing as The Ram gets back to normal. The service is always very friendly. We have been returning to The Ram for many years . Highly recommend.
It was my first visit back since pre covid and the experience was outstanding. The staff were warm, welcoming, quick and professional as always. The food was delicious can't wait to return. I felt totally covid safe in a traditional British pub
Connor was brilliant!
Lovely! Brilliant service food was great. Harveys and nice food outside the Ram what more could you possibly want.
Lovely setting and garden was great for lunch. Service was quick efficient and friendly. Drinks were great and the food was tasty. A couple of points.. the baby swing needs sorting out as it is all twisted and can’t be used and the beef bourginon usually has carrots and baby onions and a red wine sauce as well as the lovely ingredients that we had.
Lovely pub and food with friendly staff too. Thanks!
An absolute gem that will make you fall back in love with English countryside pubs.
