About The Räv
Nestled opposite the historic St Salvator's Quad in St Andrews, The Räv has found its home. A contemporary Nordic all-day restaurant and bar, presented with a Scottish twist.
Lovely plates and reasonably priced. The service was very attentive without being too intrusive. Good drinks list and cocktails were delicious. Would recommend the cod and venison large plates. Definitely worth a visit (and if the menu is going to change seasonally), or two.
good atmosphere, great staff, good value
The atmosphere was great inside and the service was great too. The only comment I would make is that the venison was overcooked but my partner ordered the lamb and that was cooked to perfection so I would believe that the venison was just an accident. I’d give the restaurant another chance as the small bites and starters were good.
Enjoyed the food very much. We did share dishes, and this worked well, even with two of our party having some dietary restrictions. The staff were pleasant and friendly, but perhaps a bit overwhelmed by the number of diners, making service rather slow at times. Liked the new decor.
Fantastic service from the staff and a high quality dining experience, will most certainly be back again.
what makes The RAV so special is the food, service and venue This was our first visit and will not be our last. We love this style of food having visited the Nordic region a number of times in recent years. The food was well presented and up to expectation the meatballs were succulent, the mash perfect the sauce excellent and the lingonberry sauce topping it off. Special mention must be made of the young man who served us, he was attentive but not intrusive making sure we had all we needed taking special of our our young grandson. well done to you all and thank you for such a nice time.
Great atmosphere and the food was outstanding.
Excellent food in a well designed restaurant. Great value.
Food tasty and well presented, different interesting dishes (few items on menu unavailable ) friendly attentive service, lovely surroundings .
Really lovely restaurant and great to have something different in st Andrews. Very good quality
Tasty with a cosy atmosphere and quick service!
Extremely engaging and informative waiter, recommending both food and drink, and also offering eloquent explanation regarding elements of the dishes and background of the restaurant. A very impressive dining experience with a fabulous atmosphere and wonderful food, we will certainly be returning and will not hesitate to recommend to others!!
A real asset to St Andrews' independent restaurant scene - lovely staff, inventive Scandi-Scottish menu with dishes I'd never tried before. It can get a little loud and the tables are tight, but that hasn't stopped me booking to go back next week!
Delicious food, charming attentive staff. Ill definitely be back soon.
This was my second visit and although I enjoyed my lunch I felt that the menu was limited. The open sandwiches are lovely but served very cold as if they’ve been in a chiller. My cabbage rolls and my friend’s soup were on the warm side rather than hot. Service is great and I think the atmosphere will be good when it’s busier than it was for our visit. I love the concept of the RAV, it’s a welcome addition to ST Andrews which has very little to offer in terms of quality food so I do hope, with time, it will find it’s groove.
Absolutely lovely service, food and concept. Will be back!
The service was amazing!! The food was amazing!! Would 10/10 recommend.
Delicious food and friendly staff - a fantastic addition to St Andrews!
