Always a great service great food friendly staff
Good start to evening but let down by slow/sloppy service and long wait for food. Long time for wine to come and also clearing plates and they had to keep checking with us to see if we had been given our next course or not. Food was very good and nice place to be, well decorated for valentines and good atmosphere but just let down by little things. Excuse was they had a large party in but don’t sacrifice your other guests for that. If you can’t handle it and maintain a good level of service across the board don’t take the booking.
Thanks for nice evening
Excellent food and very friendly efficient staff
Groupon afternoon tea very good value for money
Thus was excellent value for money. Good quality was superb and staff were very accommodating.
Luckily the food was really lovely as the service was terrible. The younger staff really have no common sense. Our drinks order was wrong and wasn’t corrected. We asked an allergen question about the food which was forgotten about so we had to ask another member of staff. We asked for extra gravy which was forgotten about. We had to ask for the extra Yorkshire pudding that goes with the king size roast as it was forgotten about. Thankfully the chef is good and the food was lovely. Staff though need to be better trained.
Service somewhat slow
Great spot for Sunday dinner. The food and service were both excellent.
Very nice meal and pleasant staff.
I have been raving on to my family about what a lovely place the Quicken Tree is and how quirky it is. So as it would have been my Dads Birthday, my mum, my sisters and me came there on the Saturday night. The service was dreadful. I had to ask for drinks, then we had to ask again where they were, the ladies response was that the order was given to the bar. I then had to ask for table water again, then we got this twice. One member of staff, didn't seem like she really wanted to be there and we were treated like an inconvenience! Our starters came out separately , then, our mains plates were taken when my sister was still eating, because apparently the table was untidy when I questioned it. My Mum wasn't very happy with her meal and didn't eat it, this was deducted from the bill, however our food was delicious. Compliments to the chef. Its such a lovely place, and I will go back, however certain members of staff are letting it down.
Food was lovely and piping hot. One member of staff (young girl with dark hair) stood out as being friendly and attentive. Our main issue was with parking. There was an event on in the main conference centre and despite us having parked in a designated parking bay, we were blocked from all sides from moving our car due to people creating their own parking without any concern for others. We reported it to the main function team who told us we would have to wait for the live singer to finish and food to be served before they would do anything. There was no apology or rush at all or any really desire to help us. Really turned our trip sour. We had been heading to birthday celebrations after the meal and as such we missed the main start and surprise of a parent’s surprise birthday party. As a result of the car park and the way this was dealt with we will not be returning any time soon.
Lovely afternoon tea. Would thoroughly recommend
Have been here on many occasions and have always enjoyed good food at affordable prices, they have a good menu to select what you want.
What a fabulous venue, absolutely beautiful. Although it was a little nippy in the restaurant. The staff were lovely but in my opinion they could really have done with another member on duty as the young waiter was on his first shift and the waitress was trying to teach him the ropes as well as dealing with all of the guests. Our main meal took over an hour to come as a table of ten had ordered just before us. Although the restaurant wasn’t that busy. My husband really fancied a rib-eye steak, only to be told there wasn’t any rib-eye steaks. He chose the ribs which were ok ish. I chose the chicken skewers, which were really moist and tasty. The rice was vile, hard grains of bland white long grain rice straight out of a pouch and the house salad was just a handful of leaves, no other salad ingredients on the plate at all. A blob of coleslaw costs pennies. Why didn’t I send it back ???? Because I was starving !!!!! We wasn’t asked if our meals were ok but like I said earlier the restaurant was under staffed. What a shame for such a lovely place. The January promotion of buy one main meal get another free was not promoted and when our bill came we were charged full price until I mentioned the promotion deal that I’d seen advertised on your website !!! Your till should have automatically activated this deal, naughty in my opinion. I wonder how many people have missed out on this promotion.
Really nice Sunday lunch, good value for money
We took advantage of the 2 for 1 midweek offer, and at that price the meal was definitely value for money. There were a few glitches throughout the evening; late side with main meal, floater coffee made incorrectly. However the overall dining experience was pleasant and all 4 of us really enjoyed the food. We will most definitely be back.
The service wasn’t great, not the staff’s fault as not enough staff for the number of reservations, 2 of the 4 staff did not speak English so could not help, our table was booked for 2.30 when we arrived they insisted it was 3pm, we ended up getting our mains at 4... even know we had pre-booked, such a shame as every time we have been before now everything has been great, hence booking for 16 people ;(
Very tasty steak
Nice venue, nice food, server was extremely friendly
Lovely experience lovely food lovely service
Lovely atmosphere lovely staff.
Unfortunately after coming here a lot over the year for Sunday dinners which have always been amazing we were very disappointed with the food on christmas day, we were a family of 14 and we all only had one pigs in blanket the yorkshires were rock hard and the only veg that was offered was sprouts and carrots. By the time we got the gravey my dinner was cold so my brothers dog had mine and my kids who didn't even touch theirs such a shame. I know they have had problems with staff and you could tell they tried but definitely won't be booking for next year. ☹
Food was amazing, all 3 courses were lovely. Sat down 45 minutes later than planned and felt all 3 courses were rushed because of this. Felt it was rather expensive to take the child as well as she didn't eat very much but had to pay £32 to take her. Atmosphere was nice and the waitress was friendly.
Staff not attentive we waiting a longtime for drinks and food and condiments that really should have been on the table
