Fantastic as always just a little under staffed re drinks service to tables due to demand from walk ins from outside.
Over an hour wait for food steak a bit fatty covid 19 distancing not up to standard only saw a table wiped not chairs
It was 20 mins before we got a drink and then waited over an hour andx20 mins for our food came in at 6.30 didn't get our food until 8 o'clock I had to keep getting up to go and get the waitress as no one came to us 7
field by space ship in the grounds had a big hole by one of the drains which could be dangerous especially to kids
Never been before but lovely location n staff really friendly n helpful. With the covid bonus as well...who could complain...excellent
Really good food. And lovely surroundings. Staff are really friendly too! My only complaint is the dog roaming around as not all people like dogs
We have had a couple of very nice meals with you before lockdown. We thought we would try sunday lunch with our family who hadn't been before. We were a little disappointed because although efforts had been put in place for distancing in the dining area, it appeared too many people were standing around here waiting at the bar and for tables . The waitresses were polite and were doing their best but couldn't cope with the numbers. We had to wait a long time for our main course and others were complaining they had waited over an hour. We did have to send two meals back. This was rectified satisfactorily. We will definitely come again but probably not on a Sunday. I think maybe less bookings or people allowed without reservations would make it easier to be safe and ensure the level of service remained high
My visit was for my brothers 18th birthday. I was the first to arrive (as my Dad and brother were coming from derby) So I managed to get the birthday cake in the restaurant unnoticed by my brother. We all sat down, service was painfully slow, considering we were told we had limited time due to COVID. And we were the first people in there! Ordered our mains, once mains were served we asked for more drinks which didn’t arrive, so I went to the bar to ask. Waited a long time for our dinner plates to be took away. At this point my 2 and 4 year old are getting bored and want some ice cream. Finally dinner plates taken and I asked for ice cream for the kids and coffee for the adults. Again waited a very long time, had to go to the bar to ask for more drinks as no service at the table. All the time I’m thinking when are they bringing the birthday cake out?? We had been there for over 2 hours at this point. Then The manager (or who I suspect is the manager) came over and quite rudely started clearing the table while muttering we need the table now, talking to my kids to clean the crayons up off the table they were playing with. I started clearing the crayons away with them while he went away to do something else, he must of thought we had got his ‘hint’ that we need to leave. I realised he must of forgot the cake, So I went to the toilet while on the way I asked the manager where is the cake? He had forgot as he said ‘what cake??’ I told him, then hoped when back from toilet it would then arrive....no! We waited again, I’m trying to stall my brother and the kids who all want to get going as the weather was lovely and we wanted to get outside. I had to pretend to take the kids to the toilet and ask one of the waitresses, the manager then came over as I was getting upset by this point, he was apologetic and said he would get it out straight away. We sat back down and the waitress came over putting plates on the table ready for the cake! (The cake was a surprise so I was not happy she did this) my brother looked at me and almost knew there was a cake coming then, I was so disappointed as I wanted to video his face with the cake coming out. I had to complain in front of my family, which I hate complaining anyway, it’s not in my nature, I work with the public myself and I know how it can be, but this just completely ruined our day, we didn’t even stay to have any of the cake as we had been there that long (over 3 hours by now) that we just wanted to get going, embarrassed that we had to complain, we just left. It was the first time I had seen my brother since February due to lockdown, and he came over from derby for the occasion, I promised the restaurant was amazing and food was lovely (which it is, well done chef/kitchen staff) and then this happens. This seriously needs to be addressed.
Waited 20 minutes no drink brought to us even though we ordered it as soon as we spoke to the host. Heard staff complain about how short staffed they were and how fed up of it All the time. Consequently we decided to leave and dine elsewhere.
Our food was absolutely amazing. Cannot wait to come again !
Always a great meal and first class service.
We arrived early at 4.30 I had called in advance to ask if we could arrive early and we were told that was fine.the waitress was initially very good. The food took a very long time to come out. It was a nice meal though, It took us till 5.20 to receive then we asked to see dessert menus after eating and were left 20 minutes waiting to order dessert so we decided leave dessert. I went up to the till to explain paid and left. Nearly 2hrs for one course in all as we left at 5.20.
It was not a enjoyable experience, they seemed to be short staffed. There were long waits for food and drinks and when food finally came it was not worth the wait.
Meal was lovely, service was great as the staff were clearly busy but did there upmost for us, the only thing that let it down was choice of potatoes on the side menu. Had the lamb so dauphinois potatoes would have been perfect but only options were chips or garlic bread. Other than that was lovely!
Meal was not what we ordered( apparently the chef sent out the wrong menu! Fillet steak was tough so will not be visiting again - very disappointed with the communication re menu and quality of food
Lovely home cooked fresh food, nice friendly staff, lovely views
We booked a table and we arrived early, but we were seated. There wasn’t many in and the place was nice. We waited 30 mins before a waitress came to us which was annoying as new customers came in outside and was getting served right away. We ordered our food and drink together as we had so long beforehand. Our food came and it was really nice, we had to wait half an hour for it but we already knew as we asked the waitress. The food was lovely and the surroundings are great especially if you have young kids. My only thing is that the waiter/ waitresses should pay attention to their customers and at least offer them a drink and tell us what’s going on rather than just leave us sitting there. It was our 1st time there and although the food was lovely I won’t eat there again but will probably go for the boats and crazy golf.
Enjoyed the afternoon tea, but did find it very busy at this present time and people didn’t always take in to account social distancing
Excellent all around.
The food was lovely, followed by a great afternoon on the Pedalos and playing crazy golf with family. Definitely recommend
Excellent food service & atmosphere, although sweet menu never came when lady said she would bring it . A sale of sweets lost there but overall was lovely .
Lovely meal, beautiful outlook a really nice place. Staff were so friendly will definitely be back
Food was lovely, cooked to perfection. Not a huge option for all tastes on the menu amd i feel is a priced a little too high for our family budget. But the huge let down was it was over crowded and no one way system in place following reopening of covid only saw 1 hand sanitizer within the restaurant which was sticky and smelt and the toilets needed cleaning. If the hygiene/cleaning was 100% id have rated higher scoring
We all chose from the lite bites menu for lunch, onion rings are amazing but very disappointed when I discovered I had paid £3.50 for a soda water and lime, come on guys, really, I even had to stir it with my knife as the lime was at the bottom of the glass
