Lovely meal with friendly staff x
Super food. I would love to have a good real ale available on draught!
The food was excellent, we did visit on a Monday evening, hence why it was quiet.
We live locally & like to support local restaurants, but this is the second visit in a row where the service has been awfully slow. There's always plenty of staff around (who are lovely and friendly) but they always seem to congregate around the bar area chatting without being very aware that customers are waiting for service. On this visit, we had a long wait to be served drinks, an even longer wait for someone to come back to the table & take our order (we were the only diners in the restaurant at the time). We sat with menus closed looking in the direction of the 5 staff chatting at the bar but were completely ignored. We had to ask twice for the bill, the whole meal took over 2 hours. I'd be reluctant to book again based on our recent experiences, which is a shame. The food is good value & the staff are very pleasant, but the service isn't attentive & it's very slow.
Great afternoon tea!
Absolutely amazing steak last night! Way to go guys keep it up and we will be back
love this place... can't help but keep going back :)
Had an Winter afternoon tea. Soup was a lovely touch. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be going again.
Brilliant afternoon tea
Beautiful settting, good value cream tea and friendly accommodating staff definitely will be coming back
Atmosphere was quiet as nearly empty, but not a problem for us. Service a bit slow, but very polite and helpful.
Sunday roast was lovely . Perhaps could have done with a few more roast potatoes but all of the veg was lovely. Drinks a little pricey. Pleasant and attentive service.
Great food always excellent quality and staff are very efficient and friendly
Had a fab night. Food excellent. Staff were polite & helpful. Spoke to chef in the afternoon before our celebrations and he was asking about which vegetables we wanted, how we’d like out potatoes cooked. I thought it was a lovely touch, he was very accommodating & helpful. All in all a lovely evening would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a small party.
Good food, good service in unusual but very pleasant surroundings. A very worthwhile experience.
Food is superb, service is lacking slightly. We were looked after by a really young lad who didn’t know if there was a baby change and I had to ask twice for my drink as it was forgotten. We had to wait for a desert which was also forgotten. Staff are a bit too young to show real care for the customer in my opinion.
Visited for the first time as a birthday treat for my mum . Myself and my parents ate afternoon tea whilst my husband and children ate off the regular menu . Afternoon tea was fantastic , especially nice to see my dad enjoying a gluten free option which he can rarely find. Lovely views and friendly staff . Will definitely visit again !
A pleasant Sunday Lunch for my family.
Excellent meal, served in a reasonable time
Beautiful baby shower. Great service from Helen. Be back soon.
Portions were perhaps a bit large and so seemed more about quantity than quality. Sauces a bit thick and because a lot a bit rich
Excellent as always
A real ale on draft would be nice, Landlord, my choice. Or Black Sheep or Speckled Hen.
