About Glenlo Abbey Hotel
The Pullman Restaurant is Galway's most unique dining experience. Diners take a step back in time aboard the Orient Express, which comprises of 2 original carriages from the Orient Express, beautifully restored without losing any of their original character and set on the grounds of the hotel
Enjoy views of a coiffeured golf course, Lough Corrib and Connemara hills in the distance.Having recently been awarded the prestigious second AA rosette, the Pullman Restaurant is certainly a dining experience like no other.
Food is really not up to scratch for the price and ambience. The menu itself is not inspiring and the food was only just adequately cooked. Waitstaff appeared not to understand the difference between different levels of cooking for meat.
We had an absolutely splendid time at the Pullman restaurant. The service was excellent, the food more than delicious and the atmosphere beguiling. I would return in a moment!
What an experience at The Pullman!! We had a great time. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic! Thank you for an excellent experience!
Thank you for a great evening, especially catering to dietary needs. Would highly recommend
Terrific visit... look forward to another stay!
Nous avons passé un moment magique. On se serait vraiment cru dans l'orient express ! We spent a magical moment there. It really felt like being on board of the Orient Express !
James the waiter in the pulman restaurant was outstanding. Attentive without being intrusive.
Excellent service beautiful grounds
Fantastic stay from the moment we arrived to leaving, everything top notch
Service was great, but the hotel shows its age, and the Pullman Dining car experience is lovely to recreate sitting in an old dining car, but the food and service was average.
Excellent experience! Meal presentation 10/10. The rabbit starter felt a bit over salted (mushrooms part), that's why meal would be 8/10 (my personal opinion). Staff was 11/10, just perfect.
Glenlo is incredibly beautiful with a lovely staff to match! We visited for afternoon tea and it was everything we could have wanted!
Our Ireland trip included 6 five star hotels and your hotel was by far the worst. The initial room provided to us was poor and it had major plumbing issues. Your front staff did not even check back with us after we complained sat waiting 45 minutes for our luggage. We were very disappointed in the service we received.
i would like to say that is was a great stay from talking to rebecca who when she heard it was our wedding anniversary upgraded us to a suite it was amazing the service the food just everything we felt that we were away for a week could not recommend highly enough we cant wait to come back.
We had a really lovely time. All the staff were excellent and provided a very fruendly and helful service.
Lovely setting with wonderful staff.
Wonderful stay. Staff are quite friendly and accommodating. We felt at home.
This has been, without doubt the finest dining experience that I, my wife and 3 of our friends have ever had. I arranged with Sandra in Glenloe Abbey Hotel a surprise 25th wedding anniversary Afternoon Tea and Dinner in the Pullman with my wife and 3 of her closest girlfriends. The staff in Glenloe were absolutely magnificent; from Sandra at reception who helped with all the subterfuge of planning the event without my wife knowing - she is an absolute diamond! to Ivan, who controls so much in the bar downstairs. he was one of the most efficient, courteous and engaged individuals in the business, so much so that when we left the Pullman dining carriage after midnight, he was there waiting for us to see how we got on; and finally to Julian and all the staff in the Pullman Dining experience who took our respective breaths away with the excellence of their service. A special word of thanks must go to the team of chefs who served up Michelin-style food in a just magnificent surrounding. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this lovely dining experience as the "Absolute Best in the West". To the owners of Glenloe Abbey hotel, I salute you, as your staff were quite simply exceptional. Noel Mac Mahon
The venue and staff are absolutely amazing. So helpful and pleasant to deal with. My only negative was the food. Being a serious "foodie" I had high expectations and I was slightly disappointed with the Pullman. Amazing setting but the food just didn't live up to expectations. Flavours were bland and I know it was fine dining, but portions were tiny and I felt a side of baby potatoes wasn't suffice. Best part of the meal was the desert. Would definitely come to the hotel again and maybe eat in the oak cellar bar instead.
Food portions too small
The food portion although fabulous were small. We had lunch dinner and afternoon tea could do with being a little bigger. Breakfast was more than adequate. I would be prepared to pay extra for a wee bit more
Beautiful unique setting in the Orient Express, and the meal was absolutely delicious from start to finish. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
Facility in general is nice but a little tired - website makes it appear much nicer than it is in reality. Bar and restaurant service was extremely slow, food quality was only fair despite the very high price tag. Our stay was pleasant but probably won’t be back.
Food in pullman was terrible, stone cold not cooked from fresh and poor service
Very enjoyable Afternoon Tea at Glenlo Abbey and the table service by Natasha was excellent. She was very friendly, efficient and informative of the Afternoon Tea selection (our first time attending it so we did ask Natasha a few questions) and she was very pleasant and knowledgeable when serving us. The many types of teas (and coffee) available, along with the fresh baked scones, seasonal sandwiches, and tasty pastries did make for a very enjoyable afternoon. The excellent piano-playing within the dining room did complement very well the Afternoon Tea experience. Sure to return.
