About Glenlo Abbey Hotel
The Pullman Restaurant is Galway's most unique dining experience. Diners take a step back in time aboard the Orient Express, which comprises of 2 original carriages from the Orient Express, beautifully restored without losing any of their original character and set on the grounds of the hotel
Enjoy views of a coiffeured golf course, Lough Corrib and Connemara hills in the distance.Having recently been awarded the prestigious second AA rosette, the Pullman Restaurant is certainly a dining experience like no other.
Absolute brilliant hotel, staff were superb and the food top class
The staff was very attentive and professional. A private whiskey tasting with Ivan was most enjoyable. The food was great and the whole atmosphere was very relaxing. Will definitely visit again.
Loved this experience of dining in one of the train carriages. Food was excellent. Service was very good and friendly and background music really suited the atmosphere. Will be back!
Perfect evening at the Flavours of the Orient Express event.
The Pullman Restaurant was so unique! The setting is gorgeous and the ambiance of the train car is perfection. We took a two week honeymoon in England and Ireland and the dinner we had here was definitely one of our favorite highlights!
Great atmosphere and very romantic if you want it to be. Server was solo and had many tables so he was overwhelmed. Said he had Crown Royal but did not serve it. Had to continually ask for service and he completely forgot our side dish. Food was smaller than anticipated but was fabulous.
Very enjoyable and unique experience. Staff treated us exceptionally well and the food was outstanding. We really appreciated the champagne and chocolates at the end in celebration of our anniversary.
Great food and service Really enjoyed the experience
Although there were only two other diners that night, our rather common order of two martinis took nearly twenty minutes, and didn't arrive at table until the appetizers and salads had been served. This practice, if it is your usual practice, does not enhance a relaxing pre-dinner drink experience.
Our experience on the Pullman coach went beyond our expectations. When Viktor escorted us to our own private compartment "Le Coupe" to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday we were overjoyed.Roisin,Sinead, and Emily served us gorgeous food prepared by an excellent chef.Luckily for us the birthday boy's favorite fish, black sole was on the menu. All the staff were friendly and very professional but We must especially mention and Thank Viktor and Roisin who put their heart and soul into making our celebration perfect.
When reserving my room, there were 2 Mixups. Had I not have rang to confirm my booking, I would have arrived to no one knowing anything about me as they initially booked me tor 3 months away. I also had to chase them for a confirmation email. We had dinner in the Pullman's which was lovely but we could have been forewarned about the fish. It wasn't deboned meaning we spent our time picking bones out of our mouths. The bedrooms were spacious but the bathroom was a let down. Seemed dated, pokey and there was no separate shower to the bath. Staff were welcoming and full of chat but again encountered hiccups on checkout with my bill. I had to go back as they left charges off and I'm glad I did as they told me they were about to come looking for me in the bar to settle the bill. How embarassing would that have been?!!. My night cost just over €500 which I don't think was at all worth it. I wouldn't hurry back to Glenlo Abbey. If I did it would maybe just be for dinner and stay in a different hotel with a spa which offered better value for money.
Enjoyed a wonderful evening for our 20th wedding anniversary - the staff were so lovely, they couldn't have done more for us! The food was amazing and, of course, the venue itself was unique. Thank you to all who made our evening so special.
Really enjoyed afternoon tea. Our waitress was so attentive and very accommodating as we had a few special requests to meet dietary requirements.
Excellent birthday treat for my wife and a really unique dining experience
Great place, splendid service and excellent pastries.
Very disappointing experience overall. I feel the restaurant badly needs to be done up, there was an awful musty smell. The food was ok but certainly not at all worth the money of €134 for just two people.
A stunning hotel with amazing staff.
It was the first time that I had afternoon tea and it was very enjoyable. The setting was lovely near the window. Sinead who served us was very attentive and had a very pleasant manner.
It would be good for an option to add gratitude on bills as service definitely deserves it.
While the property itself is amazing the rooms are not - we had a room overlooking the car park and had the lights from that in our room all night - we could have shut the curtains, however this blocked any ventilation at all from the windows, the mattress was also not up to standard for a five star rating. The bathroom was small and poorly ventilated - more like a sauna where we had to prop the door open to stay in there to have a shower.
Enjoyed our stay very much. Very special atmosphere. Large rooms. Waiting to our next visit here.
Our visitors from New York were "overawed" (as they put it) to dine in the original Pullman - it was a lasting experience for them! The food was very tasty, we could cut the steak using the fork! Well done!
