About The Print Room
Designed as a beacon of hope emerging from the Great Depression, the majestic Echo building anchors Bournemouth’s town centre. Constructed at great cost in 1932 and bursting with original Art Deco features, it is now home to a truly unique Brasserie, Grand Café and Bar.
The Print Room restaurant is set in the former press room, once a loud and bustling hive of activity with hot metal printing presses and the daily news thundering onto hundreds of miles of paper.
Built by skilled craftsmen, this lavish classical space is redolent of the drama of the era with its gleaming monochrome tiles, vast mirrors, maple wood panelled dining booths and spectacular, sparkling Swarovski crystal chandeliers.
Very good quality and lovely food. Excellent value for money. Lovely environment with friendly staff. Had to wait quite a long time inbetween courses so spent 3 hours in restaurant - slightly longer than was ideal. On the whole a lovely evening and would definitely recommend and come here again.
Really fantastic food and service.
Thank you for making my birthday a special occasion!!
Hard to find in the first place, but worth it, good dinner, although the fish was abit greasy and tough
two main problems. cold roast potatoes, which was resolved quickly, but shouldn't have happened. the cheese board at £9.50 was very disappointing. 3 thin pieces of average cheese, the cheddar appeared to have been stored at room temperature, the brie ws tasteless and there were no grapes, despite being advertised on the menu.
The atmosphere was excellent and our waiter was really great. However the time it took for our starter and main meal to be served was really painful. The restaurant did have large group bookings, but this was no real excuse. When food arrived it was rather good!!
The staff were extremely attentive and friendly, from the Ink Bar to the Restaurant. I shall be visiting again soon as the food was delicious!
I've been going to The Print Room ever since it originally opened. Everything has always been 'first rate' with never any cause for complaint. I've recommended the place to many friends who have never been disappointed with their experience.
Roast dinner swamped in awful gravy. Took us 2 hours to eat lunch
We had a cocktail workshop followed by a meal and tribute night FANTASTIC from start to finish
Great meal but the wonky wobbly table was slightly annoying,
Really lovely fluffy scones, and great tea! A beautiful place to sit in too!
Very pleasant evening. Lovely food, although a little rich for me. Used my taste card which is a bonus when dining out.
Waitress got our appetizers order wrong so bought us baked Camembert as a apology but charged us and didn't know waft specials were.
Although we were warned that the service would be slow 'because you were busy', waiting 2hrs for a roast dinner is extreme. Luckily we were happy to spend a lazy afternoon and 3 hrs having a 4 course lunch this time. BUT, if you are expecting a delay in service, you should be offering complimentary bread and olives at the very least. I use Toptable for 99% of my restaurant bookings (as does everyone else I know in London). I had booked somewhere else that I found in that App as I am not from the area. It was only a friend's recommendation that caused me to look for you online by name. Perhaps you could consider allowing bookings through 3rd parties.
We attended the comedy evening at the end of Feb. The whole evening was great, amazing value for money, with delightful food and wine. I would definitely recommend to friends, and go to another evening.
Our party of 7 were booked in for 9.15pm. We unfortunately were not seated at our table until 9.45 with very little apology. We therefore had to skip starters. We did not get our mains until 10.45pm. Lovely food but terrible service.
Nice venue, good atmosphere, service ok, but had to get own drinks from the bar.
The staff and management at the Print Rooms were faultless and helped to ensure that our event ran without hitch, from initial booking to follow up meal choices. A fantastic venue and one that we will definitely be using again
Some of the guests at my party complained that there steak was cold and some chips were not cooked properly.... Request for birthday cake to be brought out with candles lit and the brought the cake out and lit candles at the table ??? Also took them twenty minutes to get the cake to table
Unfortunately our experience was not the best. My food was lukewarm and had to be sent back. The mussels were the smallest I have ever seen and the whole meal took 3 hours!
First visit here & felt very disappointed. Service was slow & random. Nobody really looking after us. Took ages for our drinks order to be taken & even had to ask for a drinks menu. Starters took for ever to come out & finally told the kitchen had messed up.our drinks were then complimentary due to this error which was a nice touch. 2 Main meals of ribs & sirloin were quite average & lacked any real taste. Atmosphere not conducive for a couples night out; it was extremely loud due to the music & we had to shout across the table to be heard. All in all we felt quite relieved to get out of the building to some peace & quiet
Rob our waiter was superb. Could not fault his manner, service and kindness. I also want to take the numerous people I spoke to about decorating the table for my girlfriends birthday. You have a fantastic team and an amazing restaurant. Couldn't fault it at all.
good food, good service, so nice to see a full house of staff and food served in good time. My only criticism would be that the table looked as if it could do with a good scrub and the dessert menu was covered in grease and stains, which was rather off putting.
The night was great! Perfect service from both Robert and Max! The food was lovely and really catered to our dietary requirements! Definitely would recommend the Print Room for a night out and will be back soon!
