About Palm Court
The Palm Court is the heart and social hub of The Principal London. It’s a meeting point for hotel guests and visitors, and the ultimate relaxed space, with a double-height glass ceiling that floods the room with light, and lots of planting. Complementing this spirit of laid-back elegance, our service mixes nods to the past – such as drinks trolleys and afternoon tea — with on-trend details such as herb-infused cocktails, a focus on small producers for the Champagne list, and a specially commissioned tea set.
The Palm Court at the Kimpton Fitzroy was the perfect place to meet an old friend for lunch. From the warm greeting by the Hungarian Doorman, to the decor of four large olive trees, to the perfectly balanced lunch our time together was wonderful. We were there off season so it was very quiet and everything just right. My only complaint was not knowing we were being charged for the water which made the bill pricier than anticipated.
Elegant setting, scrumptious afternoon tea, outstanding and friendly service. A very pleasant alternative for a high tea where a jacket is not required to be worn by men. Highly recommend.
One of the best! Beautiful setting, delicious food, great service and generally fabulous. My friends and I had the most wonderful afternoon. Will definitely return.
We all absolutely loved Afternoon tea at the palm court. It is undoubtedly a stunning hidden gem in London. The staff were exceptional to say the least and I was so pleased with how seamless and professional the service was despite my booking being a rather large one, of eleven guests. Thank you to all the staff - especially Christiano who was our main waiter and a big thank you to the team member who welcomed us at the beginning too. I would recommend Palm Court to anyone and hope to be back soon
Utrolig flott sted med et flott interiør. Betjening som sørget for den beste service.Hit kommer vi gjerne igjen 😍
Staff were lovely, the grey bench seating was quite uncomfortable
Hi - we had a lovely afternoon tea and the food and staff were excellent. However, we weren't very warm and this did slightly detract from the experience.
Beautiful surroundings, delicious food, great service, and good value. Highly recommended.
Disappointing meal, slow service and the toilets are a disgrace
I had booked Afternoon tea to celebrate my friend's birthday the service was lovely however the food did not live upto standard it lacked a great amount of favour.
The service was fantastic. Very attentive and kind staff. Nice Location.
The piped music is not very sophisticated. My tea pot was leaking tea leaves so please consider using tea strainers
I was treated for an Afternoon Tea by my daughter yesterday and I was extremely disappointed with the experience. I have had many Afternoon Tea experiences and this was the worse one. I will not be recommending this venue for Afternoon Tea to any of my friends.
The food was absolutely delicious. Lovely service is a gorgeous room
We spent a lovely afternoon at the Palm Court. Very friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. Their afternoon tea is to be highly recommended !
The service was impeccable. I would just improve the quality of sandwiches that were not as good as everything else.
Amazing service from Stefan and the manager!! Thanks so much for a lovely experience. Fantastic atmosphere and amazing decor! One of the best afternoon teas I’ve been to! Thank you!
Having booked afternoon tea for two a number of weeks prior we were very disappointed that this had been superseded by a "Christmas Special" tea that had moved so far from the traditional type of afternoon tea it was hardly recognizable. Staff and service was very good but did little to compensate for the disappointment.
In general everything was fine. It was not warm and some kind of wind- draught happened. Due to my booking reservation I have requested for some additional requirements-via mail / but they were not communicated inside the team/ which was not very comfortable.
Atmosphere is great and the hotel is stunning. However the food was average, the festive afternoon tea food has too many items with cinnamon which becomes a bit sickening. We asked for more non-cinammon options but everything had the same aftertaste and we were told that the kitchen is open so everything can get cinnamon in it. Service was okay but not up to a luxury standard. Waiter was almost touching the food while explaining the options served which was disturbing. Overall it was a nice experience but for the same price I would recommend going somewhere else.
I had a wonderful Champagne Afternoon Tea with a friend for her birthday at the weekend and it was superb. Each course was delicate, very tasty and beautifully presented. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and attentive. Thank you very much for looking after us!
The six of us were seated at a round table, which was very convenient. Service was perfect and we enjoyed the selection of sandwiches, scones and pastry. Worth coming back!
Friendly reception; attentive, but not intrusive, service; interesting and varied selection in each 'course' of our afternoon tea. An impromptu guided tour of Fitz's Bar, which we were looking forward to visiting, but closed. We will definitely return there for a cocktail.
Was a surprise birthday present and it didn't disappoint, the atmosphere, staff and food definitely made it memorable!
Food and drink was lovely, the breakfast tea really nice. Only thing I will say was a bit weird for me was the quail egg at the beginning as I don’t like foamy textures so that wasn’t for me but the rest of the afternoon tea was lovely. Nice and quiet in there, so the staff are extra attentive. I did apply for an offer where you got a free glass of champagne online but it still let me book it for the 3rd nov, and when I got there they said it ran out on the 31st October which I wasn’t too happy about. If it was still being advertised I think it should have been honoured as we travelled a long way into London. Overall very nice.
