About The Princess of Shoreditch
A stone's throw from Old Street on the city border 'The Princess' is blissfully tucked away from the main hubbub of Shoreditch. We've won our fair share of awards and recognition over the last few years but our ethos hasn't changed a bit. To be the best pub in Shoreditch with the best food in Shoreditch and the best atmosphere in Shoreditch. The lively downstairs bar is available to both drinkers and diners alike and tables are available on a 'first come' basis. A walk up our spiral staircase leads to our cosy dining room where reservations are welcome and recommended.
Great lunch, airy upstairs dining room. Really good service. Thanks!
Wonderful food, quick service
Great atomsphere and an amazing place for a Sunday Roast.
Great staff. Delicious Food!
Amazing food, the chef can really cook. All the staff are helpful and friendly, love the place.
Great Food and Great location
Excellent Christmas lunch and very good service
Food and service was great for a big booking of 14. wouldn’t hesitate to go back again. Thanks for a great day/night
Le pub au rdv trop bruyant… comme tous les pubs… Sinon, très bien et jolie surprise dans l'assiette !
The meal and service were excellent.
Our Waitress was great but the service score is for how we were greeted when we came in. It took ages for someone to come over and one member of staff tried to help the people who came in well after us before even acknowledging us. After we were told we would be seated shortly, for our 6pm reservation we weren’t seated until 6.20...another party of two people who had a 6.30 reservation walked in around 6.10 and were immediately seated. Needless to say there needs to be work done as far as management
Good dairy free options and a great atmosphere. The service was slightly slow because of another large party but the waiting staff were very polite and dealt with it very well.
A very good Sunday lunch. Food was tasty and service very friendly. Would go again when in the area.
Best Sunday roast I've had in London hands down and wine selection was divine. The room upstairs was however a bit noisy, and staff was not able to accommodate an extra person on our table (called a week ahead, but restaurant was full) so it was a bit tight. But overall delightful experience, and good value given the quality. Will be back and would strongly recommend.
We booked the a Christmas lunch for our team. The service prior to arriving was wonderful but as soon as we got there it was clear the staff were not equipped to handle large tables of people. They were trying but clearly needed some extra training. We all loved the venison but the turkey and terrine were awful. Overall it was ok. A nice pub but not quite cut out for special occasions.
Lovely presentation and service was good, the staff were great but the food was a little disappointing. we were let down by the starters, the salmon being completely raw with just mustard sauce to accompany it and the Christmas dinner lacking trimmings, also no Yorkshire puddings !!! we had 2 vegetarians with us who were also really disappointed with their mains. Sadly I wouldn't choose to eat here again :( but would happily come for a few bevvies after work with friends one day.
The restaurant was out of the Sunday chicken roast, one in our party doesn't eat red meat so it really limited the menu. And others in our party were planning on the chicken as well. Then, when we asked for sticky toffee pudding at the end (another reason we specifically chose and traveled to this restaurant because of reviews) they were out of that too! Really disappointing, probably wouldn't go back.
Suverän Gastro Pub!
We hosted our Office Christmas Party for 34 people in the upstairs room at the Princess of Shoreditch. Everyone really enjoyed it, the food and service was excellent. Thankyou.
Fantastic food, wonderful service and great wine - a lovely evening!
The staff rushed us to begin with and told us we only had 2.5 hours and we couldn’t wait long for the rest of our party to join us then took 40 minutes between starter and main and then rushed us out of the door as soon as we had finished pudding.
Drinks and starter were good, main course (the roast turkey) was pretty terrible - the meat tasted processed with a random gelatinous lump of stuffing/sausage meat presented on top, undercooked pigs and blankets and hardly any vegetables. The roast potatoes and gravy were good, but that’s about it. Dessert (brownie) was good. But the cheese option other members of my party had was literally one small sliver. Quite disappointing overall for £45 each, I won’t be back.
