About The Plough, Wangford
The Plough at Wangford is a traditional Suffolk pub, situated just off the A12 near the village of Wangford. Just four miles from Southwold, the pub offers a great base to stay if you’re exploring the Suffolk coast.
With plentiful parking and home-cooked food, The Plough is a great place to stay as well as a friendly venue to enjoy lunch or dinner.
True to our name, we reside in the heart of the Suffolk farming country, surrounded by top quality, tasty ingredients, and lots of foodie inspiration.
We pride ourselves on offering a quality, local menu. Not only do we have local food, but local drinks too with an extensive range of Adnams beers, wines and spirits to complement the dishes.
We escaped crowded Southwold for this delightful Adnams pub just a few miles away. Great service, excellent sandwiches/ploughman's lunch and then back to the seaside! Need to check location beforehand as it's outside the main village on A12
Excellent service from Ellie & Wendy.
Great service and good food. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Amazing service, Food is Highly Recommended! Definitely coming back soon
Really excellent food & accommodation would highly recommend. Great value for money. Only 10 minutes drive from Southwold which was perfect for us.
Great service by a lovely, friendly and helpful young lady, thank you 😁
good service but average food
everything was very good room great and food very good staff very good as well they could not do enough for you in resturant and for room 10/10
The second time we have been to The Plough in a week and thoroughly enjoyed our excellent meal and service.
Second time back since lockdown and will be going again, good food, good service
The plough was just a perfect place for a rest So clean lovely food & staff were amazing Couldn’t do enough for you
Lovely Food and drinks, in a safe atmosphere. Good value for money
I feel that for the price and what we got it not great at all our fish batter was soggy and chips still hard in the middle, a disappointing evening for my family unfortunately will not be returning
Food arrived with no cutlery and had to go to bar to ask. Ploughman's had no baguette, had flatbread but not informed of substitute, no salad just leaves (no tomato, Cucumber or lettuce) Took a while to attract servers attention to order additional drinks.
The best meal I have had in a public house.......ever, have been recommending the Plough to everyone, a must to visit if you are in the area. Simply spot on, keep up the good work :)
Excellent friendly and helpful service
Friendly staff, great food, great range of drinks, quick service even during a pandemic, well organised, would come back without a doubt.
Lovely food and the staff were exceptionally kind and made us feel welcome
Overall a bit disappointing. The food quality was, at best, average. Pretty difficult to create an atmosphere with only a handful of people there in what is a spacious pub.
Lovely pub. Nice and peaceful place to eat. Staff very friendly and efficient. The food was good and good value for money. Would recommend.
Enjoyed our meal with you. Thought the restaurant was very stylish and comfortable. Would definitely come again.
2 lovely meals whilst staying in Suffolk after Lockdown. Very friendly staff and great meals.
I ordered catch of the day which came filleted but skin on and i prefer without skin, chef Andy offered to remove skin so i ordered the Haddock, probably the best piece of fish ive ever had, beer battered haddock cooked to perfection, would highly recommend and the staff are welcoming and very friendly.
