About The Plough, Wangford
The Plough at Wangford is a traditional Suffolk pub, situated just off the A12 near the village of Wangford. Just four miles from Southwold, the pub offers a great base to stay if you’re exploring the Suffolk coast.
With plentiful parking and home-cooked food, The Plough is a great place to stay as well as a friendly venue to enjoy lunch or dinner.
True to our name, we reside in the heart of the Suffolk farming country, surrounded by top quality, tasty ingredients, and lots of foodie inspiration.
We pride ourselves on offering a quality, local menu. Not only do we have local food, but local drinks too with an extensive range of Adnams beers, wines and spirits to complement the dishes.
A lovely place to go with friendly staff and very nice food
Covid arrangements well handled. Harder to measure atmosphere just now, but we were made very welcome and it was a pleasure to meet the chef.
We felt very relaxed but felt safe, thank you
Very good service. Felt safe
Friendly and helpful staff
Lovely lunch and felt very covid secure
Love this pub, staff are brilliant and so is the food!
We had an amazing meal, the food was so good.
Our third visit to The Plough. Some restrictions resulting from Coronovirous have introduced more difficult conditions for the staff, butvtbey have coped magnificently.
Always a friendly welcome and fabulous tasting food served by staff who actually care about their customers. Highly recommended.
Really friendly staff and great service and attention to detail. Rooms light and airy and very clean. Great location with easy access to Southwold and beaches.
Great food and very friendly staff well worth a visit
One of our favorite places to go for food which is always lovely and has good service.
Booked a table for last night, being our first meal out since lockdown, we were all looking forward to it. Ordered drinks, partner ordered a coke. Tasted it, it didn’t taste right so asked to change it to be told it was Coke Zero as they didn’t have regular Coke. Should have been told this when ordering as he would have chose something else. Gave our food order to then be told there was only enough food for one ham, egg and chips. Despite another member of our group ordering a ploughman’s which had ham on it. So ran out of eggs? Considering you’ve been closed for so long, I thought you would be well stocked of basic ingredients that are required to fulfil an already small menu. Ended up paying for drinks, leaving and going to the Jolly Sailors for our food. Disappointed and won’t be returning.
Hi Sharon and the Team, Just wanted to say thank you for making us feel so welcome today. It was great to be back. You have done a grand job in ensuring we are safe and yourselves. We had a lovely relaxing meal and food was excellent as usual! See you soon and hope business remains good for you all at Adnams. Nicky, Rachel Blake and Jan, Den Thompson XXX
