About The Plough Huddlesford
The Plough Inn is a country pub and restaurant with traditional values, situated in the delightful village of Huddlesford between Lichfield and Whittington alongside the Coventry canal.
If you and your family love Pizza you will also love the Plough. The first installation by new owners Mark Hynett and Andy Twigg was a stone baked pizza oven and the second was a wine cellar to suit every palate with some very quaffable choices for you to enjoy. Mark Hynett, British trained and a true Brummie has taken influences from around the world and brought them home to Staffordshire. Passionate about his food and football, he is looking forward to welcoming you to the Plough Inn.
Dogs and muddy boots welcome in our bar.
Very limited menu very expensive drinks, not value for money won't visit again over £100 spent not worth it.
Great pub in a lovely location, especially if you like trains and canals. Good atmosphere even when quiet and a selection of excellent beers.
Excellent food, fantastic Sunday lunch. Lovely pub, great setting. Will definitely visit again
lovely Sunday lunch Would definitely recommend the pork as it was amazing! beautiful setting by the canal
We are regular visitors but dined with two friends on Saturday who hadn't visited for some years. We all Thoroughly enjoyed the food - they can't wait to come back!
The food was great, piping hot and plenty of it. The Gin’s amazing and so were the cakes. Service was great too. Will definitely be going again.
Excellent meal for four people. Loved the philli cheese steak.
Never had a bad meal at the plough. Service always great!
The staff were very rude, we were ignored when we entered and had to wait ages to get any acknowledgment. A simple hello makes all the difference. I was shocked at how unfriendly the staff were - not all but most. It's been a while since we've dined here and won't be in a rush to again, however I can't fault the food - very nice.
Food was very good. All dinners cleared their plates
Service was great, 1st visit and would return.
FAO manager. We live in Boley Park & eat at The Plough quite regularly - every 3-4 months. I have previously given a high star rating on TripAdvisor. About 6 weeks ago we walked to The Plough & had a delicious meal so I booked again for last Sunday Father's day. Sorry but Sunday was really disappointing. I had pre-booked for a table of 4 at 1pm in the bar as we were bringing a dog. The table we were allocated was tiny, far too small for 2 adults & 2 teens. Table was sticky. Husband & I ex-punk rockers- your music is good for us. Last Sunday the service I had previously enjoyed was lacking, no warm welcome. Loads of staff standing about, I watched them on their phones behind the bar. Food mediocre. As mentioned, 6 weeks ago, food gorgeous. Last Sunday, not so much. 6 out of 10. Veg unseasoned & either raw or mushy. After the main, your server collected the plates, dropped a fork on the floor &, despite coming back a 2nd time for plates, left the fork on the floor, potentially for someone to step on. She also didn't wipe the table. 99% of the time I tip for service but I am afraid last Sunday I did not. I have worked in bars & restaurants for years & have previously had a good experience at The Plough. Last Sunday your team was totally off their game, disappointing service.
Excellent hearty breakfast
Been to the Plough many times but never had poor service before. Long delays taking our order and clearing away plates after main course despite not being particularly busy. Fish specials as good as usual.
Had a lovely time celebrating my husbands birthday. Great service and amazing food 😃
Lovely country pub with a relaxed atmosphere. Food was tasty, with a great choice of pizza & burger / sandwich options and a good choice of beers & gins
This is the second time dining here and i wasnt as impressed second time round
Always friendly and helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere and delicious food. Cheese and onion jam toastie....game changer.
It was a lovely pub, very busy, lots of dogs, as a result of this we found it quite loud and a bit difficult to have a conversation. To be fair though it was a bank holiday weekend and they certainly still delivered on the food.
Gorgeous setting with a lovely atmosphere and excellent service. There were a good range of drinks and the food menu was good although a little pricey for a pub as we’re the price of lagers. Would still go again though.
Excellent food and the service was perfect
Excellent meal with friends
Really pleased with the service and food
Staff are very friendly
