About The Plough Huddlesford
The Plough Inn is a country pub and restaurant with traditional values, situated in the delightful village of Huddlesford between Lichfield and Whittington alongside the Coventry canal.
If you and your family love Pizza you will also love the Plough. The first installation by new owners Mark Hynett and Andy Twigg was a stone baked pizza oven and the second was a wine cellar to suit every palate with some very quaffable choices for you to enjoy. Mark Hynett, British trained and a true Brummie has taken influences from around the world and brought them home to Staffordshire. Passionate about his food and football, he is looking forward to welcoming you to the Plough Inn.
Dogs and muddy boots welcome in our bar.
All good , No complaints from our party of 7
Lovely experience and great to be able to bring our dog.
Helpful and friendly service at both the bar and in the restaurant. Food was excellent.
Excellent evening with good service and brilliant food....
The best roast we have ever had in a pub. Delicious.
Great food, again. Great pub, with good choice of beers and food.
Lovely relaxed pub with a modern touch. Quality of the food is really good and at a reasonable cost
We love visiting The Plough and the food is amazing. Chicken burger with peanut butter, bacon and all the trimmings is immense as is the chop steak burger with chorizo, smashed avocado and chilli jam. The roast dinners are equally delicious and the fish and chips to die for. Best dessert by far is a slice of Guinness cake. The team are great and the atmosphere is friendly and homely
Great meal as always, Sunday lunch time was very busy at the pub in addition to a nice sunny day with beer garden drinker meaning the bar was very busy and a bit slow. But did not detract from experience.
Great food, excellent service.
I had the burger which was not as good as my last visit. The brioche bun at the bottom was very soggy. My husband had the flat steak and this was very tough perhaps would have been better if he had it med rare. It was a shame as we didn't enjoy this visit as previous visits.
We came for a mid week dinner as it was my husbands birthday. We haven't visited for a while. The food was great and my wine was lovely. Nice touch asking if I prefer Chillian or NZ! Husband was a bit disappointed about the selection of beers available. Not so good points - we found the music too loud, making conversation difficult. Also we brought our dog (nice summer evening walk) but we're given a table in the middle of the bar! This caused all the staff and patrons to have to step over him whilst carrying food and drink. Not ideal, and not relaxing for anyone. Eventually we persuaded the staff to let us sit in the corner by the fire - much better. We like The Plough especially as we can call in for a cheeky drink on our walks because it's quite near to home.
Excellent Sunday Lunch
Really busy so service was a bit slow but the meal was very good and I'm planning to come back again soon. I have already recommended The Plough to friends.
Enjoyed food, steak cooked to perfection.
Very pleasant pub. Good food and generous portions, possibly a tad expensive. Very moreish Plough blonde beer.
Excellent food, generous portions, great service in a lovely setting. I had the sausages - very tasty - followed by the exquisite chocolate orange cheesecake and my friend had the roast chicken followed by sticky toffee pudding. My friend and I went for a pleasant stroll along the canal afterwards - a very enjoyable Sunday afternoon and I definitely will be back.
Excellent afternoon. Big portions😃
Enjoyed bread and dips. Didn't enjoy mains as much. Good service. Red wine seemed overpriced.
Very enjoyable night out. Awaiting the xmas menus!!!
First visit in years and totally transformed (for the better). Will definitely return.
A first and not the last visit to The Plough for sure. We had a fantastic lunchtime meal. The food & service was superb .Definitley will return ,and recommend to others. Garry
Good food, had the beef Sunday roast which was nice- 2 fat slabs of beef with roast pots & a yorkshire. This was accompanied by some seperate veg- very tasty all round. A jug of gravy on the table would've meant it scoring top marks.
Disappointing choice on main menu-food was ok-nothing to 'shout home about'-my steak was v chewy.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience. We will be returning.
