About The Plough
The Plough Witney is a family run pub that boasts a lovely riverside garden, friendly staff and a fine selection of food, beer and wine.
Amazing food and presentation Fantastic service
Excellent roast dinner - especially good value with the carafe of wine when ordering two. Friendly staff generally and accommodating.
We loved our first event with you and are looking forward to many more. The staff were really helpful and the food was delicious. The function room was just perfect for our needs. Best wishes Ben
Lovely meal, staff very friendly! The only reason 3 stars for the atmosphere was because the music system wasn’t working in the back room. Everyone enjoyed the meal and my children actually ate it all!!
Unfortunately when we arrived the staff did not have a table reserved for the 6 of us and were not aware of my booking, despite my booking online and confirming the booking that morning. They managed to seat us in the bar on a table with benches, the pub was extremely noisy. The food, 5 x fish and chips was excellent, but very poor choice for Gluten Free meals.
Really delicious food, and lovely beer garden. I was impressed by the quality and value for money for such a nice meal
Portion sizes were small. I don't eat a lot and I thought this!!! Need to have a starter, main and pudding. Quality was very good.
Had a lovely meal at The Plough on Friday will definitely be returning! Rather noisy in the bar because of unexpected rain, next time we will be checking out the gin bar too!
We hired the garden area for our wedding reception last night I cannot compliment the staff enough for their incredible service they were all lovely and we had an amazing night celebrating with friends and family
I'm not sure this reservation was actually made, as they had no record of a table for two for my name at 7.45 when we arrived. There was however a table for 4 reserved for 7.30 for a similar name, so clearly something got lost in translation! Once we sat down, the food, wine and service were all outstanding. The octopus starter dish was out of this world.
Seriously good food in a quirky old pub with a great riverside beer garden
Fabulous food, great service definitely will recommend
A delicious meal but not much of a choice for vegetarians. Luckily I eat fish and the fish and chips was delicious.
Fantastic evening celebrating our 10th anniversary!! We hired your large room which was perfect, no need to do anything the atmosphere was ideal. Sam was kind enough to put together a playlist at last minute for us. All the staff were lovely and everyone commented on how nice the pub was. Thank you for a great evening!!!
Just one suggestion really - staff really need to have tried food on the menu so they can answer questions about it. Other than that perfect! Just disappointed we didn’t have room for desserts:( Thank you
Lovely food and service.
Faultless. Thank you for a lovely evening & the gins were fabulous.
Lovely staff, great food! Highly recommend the 2-4-1 gin deal on a Thursday.
A great family Sunday lunch, good beer, good wine, good food and very friendly. Thoroughly recommended.
Excellent Sunday lunch in a relaxed atmosphere. Realistic menu. Food well presented. Service friendly but not obtrusive. Will definitely be back!
Very enjoyable family meal. We were a large group (13). Lovely atmosphere, good food, good beer.
Would highly recommend, great place to of spent our Christmas eve
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to eat here in the end because my table booking had fallen through. I have enjoyed many drinks in the Plough and was looking forward to having some food there for the first time. I was told that a group must have moved the reserved sign from the table and no alternative was offered, with one member of staff asking if I’d like to see the manager so they can decide ‘what to do with us’. We ended up going to the Blue Boar instead and had a lovely meal there. Very disappointed in the Plough, though.
Always someone there to welcome you. Dining at the Plough is like eating a great meal at home with friends.
