I was stood in the bar for some time before anyone so much as looked at me. A simple hello, I’ll be with you in a moment would suffice but....blank. Fortunately it improved and a lovely meal was enjoyed. The gold hand soap was definitely a talking point!
Excellent meal
Food was excellent. Didn't have chosen dessert but alternative ok. Would have liked to have finished with a coffee but all waiters seemed to disappear after serving dessert which was a pity.
I booked on line but there was no record of my booking when we arrived thankfully they had a table we could have
Fabulous food, great beer and mojito's, warm welcome. All staff wonderful, Ben and mark especially. Thank you for a wonderful stay and meal 😊
Food portions are small. Expensive for the small dishes. Tasted acceptable nothing outstanding.
Staff very friendly and engaging
We have been several times and always delivers excellent yummy food. We had dinner there 14:15, nice and chilled atmosphere. We had little ones (4, 3 & 1) with us and the food they were served was brilliant fresh and apparently yummy. We can’t wait to come again soon
Fantastic, friendly staff, great food, lovely atmosphere. Will be back!
Both service and accommodation are excellent. Booked 3 rooms for 2 nights and have only positive comments regarding The Plough. Accommodation is pristine and a credit to the staff in the preparation and presentation of their rooms. Would definitely return and recommend to friends.
So good to have a restaurant locally which produces a menu different from "the run of the mill". There were four in our party and we all chose something different. We all enjoyed our food and agreed we will be back!
Absolutely sublime food, never disappoints. First class service and great atmosphere. It’s always a wonderful escape to visit The Plough. Thank you very much.
Would have liked a different table I felt uncomfortable with the couple just sitting near us only drinking . There was plenty of of tables and wish i had asked if we could have been seated at another one. People near the bar were quite close to our table and i had to move my chair in when staff were passing. It did spoil our dining experience on this occasion. However the food was of a high standard and cooked to perfection.
Really enjoyed our first time visit - thank you
Hi Meal was fantastic . Great atmosphere . The only thing I was criticse slightly was the food came out too quick . We ordered that starters and they were out within about 5 minutes max . But will certainly be back
The ideal Sunday lunch.1st class
Lovely setting, food excellent!
Very good food Outstanding cleanliness Friendly staff Good real ale choice of 4.
Great restaurant with good food and service would recommend
We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch. Service was a bit sporadic although the restaurant was not at all busy.
Pleasant welcome and service. Sunday lunch most enjoyable with one criticism - beef was described as “pink” and we asked for it to be as pink as possible - we like roast beef very rare. When it came it was not at all pink but very well done. Very tasty but not what we expected. Vegetables excellent - just as we like - broccoli not over cooked and potatoes and root vegetables great. Would definitely recommend but if we return we would check the “pinkness” of the roast beef or choose something else.
We asked if we could alter our reservation to 8:30 and was advised this wasn’t possible due to other bookings. There were empty tables throughout our meal and our table was not used after we finished our meal as had been indicated was the problem. The staff are really friendly and helpful, but there diesn’t Seem any organisation. The water for our table never came, we got asked by different staff was everything ok and did we want more drinks, but could bring the drinks without being asked again or clear plates promptly.. The food was good, decor and atmosphere good just needs to be a little more tightly run.
Service and food excellent from beginning to end, a truly scrumptious Sunday lunch, thank you.
Thank you for everything. You have helped us develop social enterprise on the Yorkshire Coast and provided the perfect setting for a productive working dinner.
First visit.... and we'll be back.
