A fabulius experience. Six delicious courses. Best meal we have had in a restaurant .
Excellent value & great atmosphere
Thank you making my birthday dinner an amazing experience. The staff were appropriately attentive and the was exquisite. Thank you again for a wonderful night.
Food was delicious and the atmosphere was luxurious
Very disappointed with all meals, but it got worse when my wife became very sick later that night, she ordered the salmon and felt it tasted a bit strange. It’s vey loud like a cafe we will not be going back and will not recommend it to anyone
On our first evening we had the Summer Tasting Menu and were very satisfied. We were anticipating an even better dining experience on the second night because we had booked the more expensive Degustation Menu. The first disappointment was that despite having made this booking weeks ahead, it took 45 minutes before any food arrived at our table. We had asked the night before to see the menu but were told there wasnt’t one, the chef decided on the day. I’d say than the chef made some poor decisions. Most dishes were simply recycled from the Summer tasting menu and others were just bizarre. The third course was a portion of bread! I was told that it was a firm favourite of regular customers. Perhaps so, but why not serve it first? From a presentation point of view it just looked pathetic. A mushroom tart had a delicious filling but the crust was so hard (overcooked?) that it shattered when we tried to cut it so it was necessary to inelegantly eat it with our fingers. The heirloom tomato salad, served with a dollop of ricotta was most uninspired. On the plus side, the scallops were as magnificent as the night before, the pork was even better (we were dubious that it had been cooked for 18 hours as it was still rather tough) because it was at last tender. The two desserts were delicious. Our waitress, Charlotte, was charming and worked very hard under difficult circumstances. It would appear that the kitchen was even more understaffed than the front of house. I would certainly eat here again, but never for the degustation menu unless I was able to view the menu beforehand.
Over-cooked starter (scallops), waitress forgot to write down our order for potatoes - they then came out when we had nearly finished our main and were nuclear-hot as they had been put in a microwave. The bottle we ordered was put in an ice box 2m away from the table and we didn't get our glases filled once by the waitress as she brought our courses and had to keep getting up ourselves to fill our glases. Food was cold after a couple of minutes as we were sat directly under a slot vent which instead blew straight down onto us and our food. Desserts were very nice though. I booked to take my wife for a fine dining experience for her birthday - this was not fine dining by any stretch of the imagination. There was also some bizarre caberet act in the Playford bar whilst we we there - Sonny & Cher they were not...
The food was delicious and we were attended to by very lovely and professional wait staff. The team also catered to my request of having a special message created on our dessert for a special occasion.
The honey parfait is absolutely amazing. We specifically came back to have this dessert. Please never take this from the menu!
Pre-show dinner.Online booking 4 hours before show! 4 others in the area were full. Friendly efficient service.Delightful & clever entre’ creation. Tasty Mains. Complemented with refreshing wine.
Food and service was amazing! Great wine list, one of the best steaks I have had in a long time. Can't wait to return!
This restaurant is consistently great in both the quality of food and the service.
Delicious food and wine. Great service.
Fabulous old school restauramt with lovely food only critique would be that the souflee is too large as an entree But i knew in advance having read reviews so I had it as my main course with the tomato salad and bread. But it was delicious!
Waitress was terrific and the summer tasting menu was fabulous. Thank you.
We dine to celebrate our 49th Wedding Anniversary. Lovely dinner. Not cheap but with Accor card made cost more reasonable. Service was excellent. Had to buy plate of vegetables as small main course serve.
Lovely experience, degustation was great with wonderful presentation!
We had a perfect evening for our anniversary dinner. The staff were attentive and pleasant. The food was well presented and delicious. I highly recommend the Playford for a top quality dinner.
